Best safari experience with family
We did a 4 days Kenyan safari to maasai mara and Lake Naivasha with my wife and kids. Everything was smooth from communication to execution of the safari. Our hotel was well located by the river and our guide Jeremy was so friendly and knowledgeable about the parks and animals. We shall book again with them once ready for more experiences

Do not recommend. Dishonest business practices, poor communication
We booked a 3 day Masai Mara safari with Unscripted Safaris. While our time in the park itself was good, the whole experience was marked by poor communication and shady business practices. The first point of suspicion was that the tour informed us several months after booking that our costs would be increased by nearly $300 a person due to an increase in park fees. However, these fee increases had been announced well in advance of our booking and we had assumed that they were already included in the price of our safari. We had no choice but to pay. On the day of our safari, the guide that we specifically had requested was not there, and was replaced with someone else. This was done without any prior warning or communication. Most critically, our itinerary at the time of booking that our tour would a 3 day safari that included an afternoon game drive the first day, a full day the second, and a morning game drive on the final morning. Halfway through our safari, we were told by our guide that this was not possible, and we would have to leave immediately in the morning of day 3 and depart the park. This was supposedly due to park policy, but none of this was communicated to us in advance. Our tour was cut short of what was promised, and our request for a partial refund was refused.
It was clear that Unscripted was simply telling us whatever we wanted to hear in order to make the sale. Once we had booked, all sense of customer service went out the window. Next time, I will go with a more honest company.

Again and again
We did a three-day safari to Maasai Mara and enjoyed every single moment. After arriving at our accommodation, which we absolutely loved, we had a delicious lunch and then headed out to see the animals. Our guide Joseph did an amazing job of ensuring we saw all the highlights. On our first drive, we already spotted two lion cubs with their big family. The next day, we were lucky enough to see all the big cats and absolutely loved it.
I would highly recommend this company and will definitely book with them again.
Thank you very much for this unforgettable experience!

Thrill of thrills
I wanted an adventure and got one – wading through the hippo-filled waters of Lake Naivasha! We weren’t in danger, but the feeling of being so close was exhilarating. Unscripted Safaris is a thrill-seeker’s dream safari company. They go beyond the usual, always safely, but with a dash of adrenaline.

From wild giraffe selfies to jumping in on a Maasai dance circle, Unscripted Safaris had me doing things I never dreamed of. I came for lions and ended up dancing under the stars with new friends. It’s like an African adventure and a cultural festival rolled into one!

If you want an ethical, immersive experience, Unscripted Safaris is the one to choose. I loved how they prioritize sustainable travel, from eco-friendly lodges to community-based projects. They’re preserving East Africa, not exploiting it.

I loved the little surprises, like an impromptu Maasai dance at our campfire. Unscripted Safaris takes the time to add those touches that make you feel like you’re not just a visitor but a part of the culture and landscape. It was so genuine.

amazing
For my solo trip, Unscripted Safaris suggested Lake Baringo in Kenya, a hidden paradise for bird lovers. Surrounded by dramatic cliffs and flocks of flamingos, my guide took me to remote islands where I was the only visitor. This serene solo experience gave me a new perspective on Kenya’s rich ecosystems beyond the typical safari.

Highly recommend our guide Peta but not this agency Unscripted Safaris
We don't appreciate the dishonesty or carelessness that Lewis (our contact guy of Unscripted Safari) has shown during the whole thing.
1. We first reached different agencies under the same term that we (a group of 8 people) will use 2 Landcruisers. But when we arrived, there was only one. Lewis said it could fit us all, or we can pay $300 per day (it is a 8-day safari) extra for another vehicle. It is ridiculous.
2. We stayed in Massai Mara for 3 nights. When discussing the change of the accommodation, we double checked with Lewis that extra payment was $50 in total, not per night. Until a week before our arrival to Kenya, he said he had misspoken, it should be $150 added in total. The new camp is great but the communication should be less careless.
3.The biggest problem is with the Crescent Island. The boat took us to a fake island while charged us each $60. As we pointed out, the boat guy didn’t take us to the real Crescent Island right away, instead he waited for the call from our agency. We believe it is a common trick played in tourism here. Be alert.
In all, we had an unforgettable experience in Kenya, especially our guide Peta is great, very experienced and helpful. But the business here need more transparency and regulation.
