Safari's with a personal touch
As a solo traveller i am more than happy that i booked my 3 days safari trip via Hamisi of Colours of Africa.
From the very first beginning contact with him was pleasant. On my day of arrival he came to my hotel to welcome me and gave a briefing. Our guide, Omar, is very passionate about wildlife and gave us an fantastic safari experience as we have seen the best of the best in the 3 Northern nat Parks.
All well arranged and safe driving.
When arrived back in Arusha, Hamisi, was there again to greet me.
I can highly recommend Hamisi and his team.

Excellent and professional
I made a full enquiry on Web Reviews on Safari and Safari Providers. After talking with many,I decided to take the offer with Hamisi, the
Tour Operator of Colours Africa Tours. After agreeing on Whatsup on what we want, what we expect and the total price, 5% was paid and I received the Voucher.
The Safari its self was better than imagined. Throully life time experience, seeing the wild life so close and so real.
Hamisi sent a pickup car to airport , met us at his office and then from time to time asked if we are happy and everything was OK.
After the start of the tour, we agreed the other activities, like visit of the Masai Camp directly with the driver.
We had marvoulos time and feld safe at all the times.
Awesome!
The safari was excellent, really really good, everything, game drives, hotels, food, chef, driver and guide awesome

A great tour organized by friendly helpful knowledgeable people
I have worked and lived in Tanzania for some years, but wanted to finally get to Gombe National Park to see the chimpanzees made famous by the research of Jane Goodall. Safari bookings linked me to Colours Africa Tours and I am very thankful they did. The agent here in Arusha was helpful and flexible as I had to change my plans a couple of times. When I arrived in Kigoma he was there. He himself went to Kigoma to be with me the whole time and make sure I had a good experience. I was travelling alone and am 84 years old, and it was great to have his help. In fact, the chimpanzees don't stay near the finished trails in the park, and to get the full experience one has to get off the trails and into the bush, and for me, the rough terrain was difficult and he helped and I was able to stay up with other tourists and get the full wildlife experience. Colours Afirca Tours also brought along a very good chef, and the lodging tent was comfortable too. I recommend them without reservation.

I had one of the best holiday weeks of my life!
It was one of the best holiday weeks of my life and I‘ll never forget this safari! Thanks to the team around Hamisi and thanks to the excellent tour guide Aaron I learned so much about the wildlife and saw so many animals (the big 5 included).
As it was my first safari I needed a company which I could rely on and which always gave me the feeling of taking care. Colors Africa Tours, you are excellent!

Diverse and entertaining tour
We had such a great time on our safari.
Hamisi helped us in advance with the organization. Since it was a private tour we were able to customize it to make the best out of it. The communication was very good. We always got very quick answers and everything was organized even our request of adding a zip line tour on our way was done by Hamisi and the driver. So we really didnt have to worry about anything.
The day before we started, Hamisi came by at our hotel to go through everything and give us some final information.
On the first day we went to a one-day hiker to kilimanjaro. It was nice to at least get a little taste of what it is like going up there. Our guide Michael was very competent and told us lots of stories. The hike up to mandara hut was shorter than expected. There we got some lunch boxes. After that we also went to see a crater close by before heading down. The way back almost took us as long as the hike up. But we enjoyed the rainforest like area. Our driver was already awaiting us and drove us back to the hotel.
The next day we were picked up by Benjamin who was our driver for the safari. He was so kind and entertaining. We loved his stories about his safari experiences and also his life and enjoyed playing card games in the evenings with him. We drove to Tarangire National Park and had a game drive and our lunch there. We spotted lots of elephants, giraffes and many more. Afterwards we headed to Fig Tree Lodge for the overnight stay. There we got a huge dinner.
The next day we had our additional zip line tour we wanted to add by ourselves which was organized by Colours Africa Tours. Afterwards we picked up our chef and drove altogether through ngorongoro conservation site with nice view point to olduvai gorge were we went through the museum there and got a short overview from a guide there. Meanwhile the lunch was prepared there. Afterwards we headed to Serengeti national park where we arrived in the late afternoon and had a beautiful game drive with the early evening sun while driving to the public campsite.
There our chef Collin prepared our dinner and we got help by building up our tent from a local guy at the campsite. Dinner was amazing. We always had great food. Collin really did a great job in those small kitchens.
The next day, we drove to the northern part of Serengeti to spot the great migration. It was a long drive but it ws definitely worth it and a major highlight for us. We had a nice breakfast picnic on the way. Then we were so lucky to spot the large groups of wildebeest and zebras wandering through the area. We even spotted them crossing Mara river twice that day. And we also saw crocodiles attacking them. It was a very impressive experience we will never forget. Afterwards we drove back to the campsite where Collin awaited us with an amazing dinner.
The next day we had a sunrise game drive through the center of Serengeti and a nice brunch back at the camp before we left Serengeti to drive back to ngorongoro. There we went to simba campsite for overnight.
The next day we had our sunrise game drive in the crater. That was also amazing since we very one of the first cars entering. There are so many different kinds of animals on such a small spot at once (compared to Serengeti). Afterward we enjoyed again a delicious brunch and headed to Arusha where our next driver brought us to a hotel in Moshi to have the last day at Materuni village.
Something must have gone wrong here since the hotel staff didn't know anything about our arrival there. But everything was fixed quickly and we got a room to stay. However, I guess we missed some information on the details of the next days so we had not the perfect clothing but in the end it was fine. The waterfall looks nice but you need to make sure you have good shoes with you since the way is very slippery. The people at Materuni village were so nice and took their time to show us everything although we were quite early there. We enjoyed a nice hot lunch with local food and headed to the hot springs. After that we were brought to the airport right in time for us to catch our flight.
All in all, we had a great time with Colours Africa Tours. The tour fitted perfectly to us. It was diversified and entertaining since we had so many different parts with kilimanjaro, safari and materuni. In the planning process the focus was on safari so we were missing some information on the other 2 parts like for example good shoes and reusable water bottles since there are no plastic bottles allowed at kilimanjaro. But everything still could be organized. Our drivers, guides and chef were all very kind and had lots of stories to tell. We definitely would recommend this tour.

A perfect stay for a unique experience
We spent 5 perfect safari days with our guide Omary. Thanks to his experience and dedication, we were able to observe all the Big Five animals, cheetahs, hyenas and many more! Omary and her team have always taken great care of our group. The safari was particularly well organized from our arrival in Arusha thanks to Hamis until the last day. We heartily recommend this agency!

Amazing Trip !
An amazing experience, with very helpful and cool guides.
Joel, is a good driver, mindful and helpful during the trekking, the visit to Materuni village, and the hotspring.
Freddy, was our guide during the Safari, he was helpful, he would explain everything with details, we learned a lot about the Wildlife/tribes/cultural with him.
Collin is an amazing cook, we had delicious/adapted meals.
Accomodation was in a good clean lodge (Karatu Safari Camp Lodge) with good staff.
Finally, we thank everyone mentioned, and also Hamis who always checked on us to be sure everything went well.
Asante sana :)

10 out of 10, highly recommend!
Excellent customer service. Friendly and super helpful staff. Such a fun and magical Tanzania experience. From the moment I first sent an email inquiry the company was very responsive and thorough. They were so patient with my fluctuating dates making sure my trip would be accommodated in its entirety. I had a very difficult time finding an agency who could accommodate me as a solo traveler (some will allow a solo traveler, but you still have to pay the price of double occupancy- this was an absolute NO for me). Colours was one of a very few that I finally found, with very competitive pricing! My driver/guide Amani was AMAZING, as was our excellent cook Adam, and coordinators Hamis and G! I felt so safe and taken care of the entire time as a solo female traveler, and the crew went above and beyond to make my birthday trip extra special with a surprise cake, and even helping with the disaster of my lost luggage (thanks JFK and KLM airlines

Experience the world - Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Gombe, Chemka and Kilimanjaro in 11 days
We contacted several different companies, but none was able to respond as quickly and adequately to our needs. Hamisi, one of the co-owners is a passionate and very dedicated young man. He was attentive to our needs from the beginning of the planning of our safari until the last day of our trip and accompanied us to Gombe. We also met several people (drivers, cooks, guides, rangers, etc.) throughout our stay in Tanzania and have always been very well received and very well served.
As women, we were a little apprehensive about traveling alone, but the company looked after us from start to finish and we generally felt safe. However, it is important to specify that we were afraid of animals that were closer to us than we had imagined when we slept in tents or even snakes during our hikes in Gombe. Think about it carefully, if you want to save money by choosing less expensive accommodations.
Our experience was very diversified and we particularly appreciated the Gombe park, for the close experience with the chimpanzees as well as the Tarangire park, which allowed us to see many animals (zebras, elephants, giraffes, lions) from very close.
As for Kilimanjaro, we did a short two-day hike via the Marangu path. The ascent was very relaxed and we were a little disappointed not to be able to climb more. We were still impressed by the beauty of nature (rainforest and monkeys) and by the accommodations at the mandara hut. A special mention for our guide Francis, the cook Boniphasi and the porter Baracka. Once again, we were very well accompanied.
Colors Africa Tours is the only company that we have found that allows us to live the experience of trekking with chimpanzees, at an affordable price and that accepts to personalize our experience by adding a half-day to the Chemka hotspring, a hike to Kilimanjaro and 4 days of photographic safari in the northern parks.
We recommend everyone to contact Colors Africa.
