Excellent in communication, customer service and overall satisfaction.
As a small group of three, we had been planning on going on a safari for about six months. We hadn’t done anything similar in the past and we were nervous about how to go about planning the excursion as well as the smaller day-to-day details. We did not want a deluxe safari so we aimed for a medium to low budget one instead. We went for the four-day option.
We contacted three separate companies (all registered with SafariBookings) and Colours Africa were the first ones to respond, almost immediately. They provided us with an itinerary illustrating the main locations and a daily breakdown of the whole trip. After discussing it as a group, we had tens of questions; from accommodation for the night before the safari, transportation, types of food available on the excursion, length of journey to the key areas, clothing, the camping sites and the lodges, the number of people the vehicles could fit and everything else in-between. Our main contact was Hamis, who replied promptly to all our questions even on weekends and sometimes very late at night.
On the actual safari, our driver and guide was Benjamin and our chef was Suleiman. The first had this amazing ability to spot animals hiding from (literally) a mile away while we were trying to spot them with binoculars. He knew the best places to view the animals and always listened to our requests, be it to stay at a spot longer to take photos or to explain certain animal behaviours.
I had the misfortune of being unwell for the first couple of days of the safari, having had an upset stomach from the flight to Tanzania. Suleiman (Sully) was aware and always took the time to cook a different meal for me so as not to upset my stomach any further. There were times when I could not resist his delicious cooking and tried a little of everything on the table. We were spoiled for choice. There was always a meat and a vegetarian dish, a carbohydrate as a side, salad and dessert both for lunch and for dinner. Breakfast was equally as appetizing and always included pancakes (crepes) which turned out to be the group’s go-to. Besides that, there was bread, coffee, tea, milk and juice.
Hamis visited us at the hotel the day before the safari to greet us and brief us on the details. He also came and visited me with Gotlisten, his business partner, to see how I was feeling after missing the first day of the safari due to my illness. The latter came to see us as a group upon our return to make sure we were satisfied and address any concerns or issues we may have had.
The overall experience (even for unwell me) was amazing and I would 100% do it again, maybe during the rainy season this time.
We went for Colours Africa mainly because of their pricing, flexibility, friendliness, promptness and speed in communication.

Beyond expectations
Me and my friend are 100% satisfied. We would book a guided tour with this company again. They were really helpful with everything we needed! My friend's luggage was lost at the airport and they did what they could to assist, they even drove in the middle of the night to bring it back to us. Our guide, Aron, was amazing. He knew everything about wild animals and landscape, his eyes could spot a black rhino from unbelievable distance. Colours Africa was really a great surprise. 100% recommended!
Excellent in many ways.
I don't even know where to start! From the moment I messaged them and requested a quote they answered every single question I had, the costumer service starts months ago when you're probably wondering many things about this trip. Don't worry, they will answer even those silly questions that pop out a month after your initial conversation. I decided to book it and it was the most amazing experience I've had in my life. Not only you go on safaris with an amazing guide (we got Stanley) but you also get a chef that deserved a 11/10 in the cooking. All meals were amazing (I overate every single day). Very important to note that camping may not be for everyone, do your research and if you decide that you'll do it, be ready to have an amazing experience. Once again, thank you guys for being so awesome from day 1! I can't recommend you enough!

Professional operator with super service
We had one day trip to Tarangire Park.
Our driver and guide Godlisten was 15 years experienced professional who gave us all the information about animals around. From 11am to 5pm we saw a lot of elephants, giraffes, warthogs, antelopes, ostrich, and even a big lion eating wildebeest.
We got the best, full fledged lunch, compared to sandviches of other companies (everyone eats in the same area but quality of food and service differs)
I fully recommend this company , we had fantastic time.

Met perfectly my expectations. Great for open and adventurous people!
I seriously recommend this experience, one of the best I've ever had. I did this as a solo traveller and the crew always made me feel sheltered, it was well organized and the execution was just as planned, they were also very flexible with me and I managed to book a Kilimanjaro climb with them when I had only booked for the Safari experience. All guides were profesional but also made me feel like I was enjoying the experience around friends.

Great professional service with a personal touch
Cant recommend Colours Africa enough. From initial contact and communication to delivering us to the airport in the end, everything went smoothly, with professionalism but also a more personal, not-too-corporate feel.
Our driver Benjamin and chef Amisi were both great and we felt lucky to have them. Benjamin was friendly and knowledgeable, and could spot animals from miles away. We were made to feel safe and comfortable while being offered a fun and otherwise amazing safari.
Amisi offered us fresh home cooked meals, easily some of the best meals we had during our trip, and that includes fancy restaurants in Zanzibar.
Thank you Colours Africa!

Very friendly, flexible and accommodating!
We booked a 5-day budget safari, which included Tarangire, Serengeti national parks, and Ngorongoro Crater. On the first day, our flight was re-scheduled last-minute so we had to be picked up from a different airport, which was fine by the Safari Company. After being picked up, they made sure we had some time to rest and then did a short trek to a nearby waterfall. The safari started the next day and it exceeded all our expectations; the tour guide and the chef were very friendly, approachable and funny. The first two nights we stayed in budget hotels and for the next two in tents near/in the national parks. Overall amazing experience!

Budget safari, with a nice crew, awesome safaris and budget Accommodations
We had a really good time during the safaris. The drivers were really nice. Especially Simon did. a really good job, driving, explaining and some fun moments.
The food was absolutely acceptable for a budget safari. Also the cooks tried to meet our needs, as we had some allergies (worked out 50% of the time).
Some of the lodges we stayed were really budget. Probably still good for tansanian standard on a budget trip, but still a bit less then we expected (windows were not safe at all times, bathrooms not clean …) but Godwill managed to book us into another lodge that suited our needs more.
Also they were really flexible with everything. That made us feel really welcome and good.
The last day we did a coffee tour to a village. The coffee experience was really cool, as we joined them from picking the beans till the brewed coffee. We were just a bit shocked about the „restroom“ which wasn’t really a room at all. But you get a good local kind of view.
So all in all we had a nice budget safari with awesome day trips, safe drives, always enough water and some really Budget overnight stays.
If you don’t expect a mid range hotel, you’ll be good to go with Simon, Godwill and the rest of the crew.

Excellent
We had a 3 day safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro, starting from Arusha with our driver, Benjamin, who was at the same time our guide during those 3 days. The experience is unique and breathtaking itself anyway, but having Benjamin as driver/guide made it even better! He is always cheerful, shares many details & information about the animals and has strong knowledge of the area.
Colours Africa Tours and Safaris organized everything successfully and efficiently for us and therefore we enjoyed it very much! They are highly recommended!
