The best kenya tour
5/5

We took a private tour for 14 days with a visit (Ambosely, Tsavo, Masay Mara, lakes, Sweet waters). We had a long choice between a jeep and a minibus, we settled on the second one. Despite the bad roads, the minibus was a good option with a profesional driver. Nice, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable guide was with us all the way. The hoteles were chosen according to our requirements and better than we expected. The itinerary was competently designed, with the necessary breaks in good hotels, allowed us to see the big five and did not get bored in 14 days. If desired on the way the guide will help buy fruit, souvenirs or furniture.

Amazing!
5/5

This was our family’s one of the favorite trip in our life! We stayed at Mara Simba lodge in Masai Mara, and had 2 days safari game and visit Masai village. Have three small kids and had found 4 out of 5 in our game drive. We even watched amazing scenes of fighting of lions and buffalos! our Guide James was very experienced so knew very well when and where to look. Lodge was very clean and nice. There is small river right by the lodge and there you can find hippos and crocodiles so kids really like watching them when we eat at the restaurant. I didn’t like the food though. Food was plain as well as the service. After Masai Mara, we went to Lake Nakuru to see Rhinos and flamingos and it was amazing! It was just a short visit on the way to Lake Naivasha and the entrance fee was very expensive but worth it. And best part of our trip was Lake Naivasha. We stayed in Sopa lodge, it was very nice, well kept very eco friendly. Food was great, service was perfect, and I would really like to visit again if I come back. Overall, Daniel organized our trip very well and comfortable! I really liked it!

Reliable team of professionals!
5/5

Trip was amazing! I really enjoyed every minute of it. I sent tour request at around 8PM, got response from Daniel just in few minutes, quick call and by 0730am I started my trip. Phylis met me at reception right on time, we completed all formalities and trip started. James was my guide and he was very professional, accommodative and respectful. Was trying his best to find different animals and successfully did! Thanks again and will see you next time!

Look no further for Safari!

So ... after having some issues with another safari tour company... asking 100$ extra after picking us up and on destinstion for 20mins.
Decided ... what is the rest of the tour going to be.

Scanned reviews .... came across one that really stood out.
Meek Trails. Emailed Daniel the owner and asked for a quote and iternary ideas.
Within an hour, he replied. With a reasonable budget and catered for all our wishes, of what we would like to do in Massai Mara .
Pick up was easy, reasonalably timed. Was greeted with huge smiles from Daniel and our guide James which he allocated personally to us for our trip.

Gave us souvenir safari hats (we really needed them, and wore the whole time).
Again after a brief discussion in the vechile, he was happy and so wete we about plans. He left and we proceeded within the extremely capable hands of James.

He discussed what the plan was a d what stops we would make... and if we wanted extra, no problem.

James is a very safe and friendly person to be left in his care.

James really shines, when you ask and interact with him.
He cares deeply about your experience.
After a short but sweet stop at the great rift valley. We came upon our accommodation, we were so lucky to even see wildlife which he was very quick to point out.

After a nice lazy couple of hours checking in, we went on our first game drive.
We were well watered, with a huge ice box of water just for us.
Daniel and James had completely handled the process of reserve tickets and accommodation, making it incredibly effortless and smooth.

Our game drive was incredible. Over 2 and half hours, james had used his unique instinctive knowledge where we would see the amazing wildlife. We left seeing hyena, Lion, buffalo, a herd of elephants, lots of giraffes, all types of antelope and so much more.

We had a very nice evening on return, and James picked us up the following morning early. Whilst constantly asking us if we were happy with the plans, he had suggested.

The second full day of game drives were out of this world. James was very adaptive, and always used his wondeful experience to position us for optimised viewing of the wildlife. Very often we found the landcrusisers following James instinct.
Here i want to say a point on 4x4 and landcrusiers. We found it a bit like.... my vechile is considerably better than yours....dont be fooled. We were in a combi van (Toyota Laci), with a huge sunroof.
We were able to have the tour completely bespoke just for us 2.
We navigated around the van so easily and had better visibility than most in a landcrusier , especially when sharing. James didnt even mind when my short ass needed on a couple of occasions to stand on the seats.

He even organised us a lunch picnic, where we had stunning views and laughed and reminised about what we had just enjoyed.

After a long day seeing incredible interactions. Leaving us feeling like we were in a live BBC documentary ( 4 lions were stalking a buffalo)...
Went to bed extremely perplexed and could not believe our luck.

Final day we made our way to lake naivasha.

Gorgeous drive, we arrived and got met with a great Guide for our lake tour.
Very unique and fulfulling experience. We saw lots of families of hippo. Including an incredible bank sunning of 8 hippos. Always felt safe and cared for.

Incredible amount of bird species, from a very knowledgeable guide.

After that we wandered how could this possibly get better.
We found so with our walking safari tour, again with another very enthusiastic guide. We were able to encounter very closely wild giraffes (inc. A baby of 2 months), and expectant mother.

Learning so much,we left so satsfied we had experienced the best of safari.... ps. We saw a leopard

We could not recommend Meek Trails enough. And if youre luck enough to get a perosnalised plan from Daniel and James as your guide. Snap it up!

There are not many like this team out there!
We opted for mid range and massively over delivered.
If you can... try stretch to mid range its sooooo worth it.

Thanks Daniel and James. We will never forget our experiences.

A crew of professionals!
5/5

The safari was part of our honeymoon trip, and everything from start to finish was perfect. Months before the trip I have worked with Daniel on tailoring the itinerary and agreeing on the details. He was very responsive, and communication was easy.
Upon arriving to Nairobi we were greeted by Phylis, took a photo and were introduced to James who was going to be our driver and guide for the coming days. James is the nicest and most professional guy I’ve ever had on any kind of trip. He was responsive, patient to answer all of my many questions about the things we were seeing along the road and the animals on safari. James was punctual, kind and delivered everything that was promised. We’ve always felt safe with him driving us around, and I honestly couldn’t expect how smooth and punctual everything was going to be and according to plan. You can tell these guys are working hard to give you the best possible experience and it was super appreciated.
It was our honeymoon so Daniel recommended the best lodges to stay on the trip to get the best possible experience even beyond the wildlife. Sopa Lodge on Naivasha Lake and Sarova Lion Hill in Nakuru are pure luxury and completely justify the higher price tag.
The wildlife viewing was also great and thrilling. We managed to see 4 of the big 5 (except the elusive leopard), here I try to compile the a list:
Naivasha: zebra, antelopes, waterbugs, monkeys, hippoes, giraffes
Nakuru: zebra, wild boar, buffalo, flamingos (thousands of them), rhinos, hippoes, pelicans, lion
Masai Mara: zebra, wild boar, giraffe, hyena, lions (really close), elephants (a whole herd), wildebeest, hippoes, crocodile, meercats, and jackals
If you tell James which animals you are most interested in seeing, he will make an extra effort to try and find them (all vehicles in the parks have radio connection so they can notify each other where which animals have been spotted).
At the end of our trip, before dropping us off at our hotel in Nairobi, we’ve agreed with James to take us to the elephant sanctuary and giraffe center in Nairobi, and I would say especially the elephant sanctuary is an unmissable wildlife experience, but beware that tour needs to be booked in advance and visits are daily only between 11AM and noon.
Kenya is a wonderful country with wonderful people, and it was sad to say goo bye to James, and leave the amazing experiences we’ve had behind. I can not recommend the Meektrails crew enough to help you organize and take you for your safari trip in Kenya.

Outstanding safari. Professional, experienced, detail oriented company.
5/5

Excellent 9 day, 8 night safari visiting Amboseli, Ol Pejeta, Lake Naivasha, and Masai Mara in early June 2022. We are a family of 2 adults and 2 older children (early 20’s and late teens) from Southern California. From start to finish, Daniel was excellent. Our interests were wildlife viewing and photography and we were not disappointed. I highly, highly recommend Meektrails. See my full review for Meektrails in Trip Advisor.
