Professional, serious, prepared....in one word great!
What noise does a herd of elephants make?
you will only hear the rustling of the grass.
I arranged this trip because I would like to see the wild animals in their natural habitat, especially the elephants.
The travel agency told me that I had to thing to nothing because everything was already scheduled ad it was the truth.
When we arrived at the airport we met John.
I think this has been the best present we received from Savannah…and they were a lot.
We went to the first hotel and we met Daniela that explained us perfectly all the steps of this fantastic trip.
The same day we went to the local market with John.
We have discovered that Tanzania is a place with a florid land: fruit and vegetable are great!
The second day we have started our adventure.
I was not prepared to see all these animals and so close to us.
I can count the zebras, gazelles, buffalos, elephant and lions…the lions!!! In the Serengeti John found for us a group od 16 lions.
The hotels were great. The person gentle…
I had a strange feeling that I was not dirty even though I was full of savannah soil.
I do not want to spoiler too much but please, arrange this trip in order to see with your eyes the Tarangire, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro…
You will never forget it.
Thanks Savannah! Thanks Daniela! A special thanks to John: you have always watched over us and guided us through the colours and endless wonders of Tanzania.

Great time
We made one week safari through Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater and it was an unforgettable experience. There was not even a small thing to complain on this trip. Organization, accommodation and food were excellent. We were also very happy with our Guide. His name is Everest.
All in all,- I can strongly recommend this company

a real once in a lifetime experience which is deeply going int our hearts and never forgotten
At the end of August we went on a safari with Savannah explorer ltd. for 7 days / 8 nights as a small family (2 adults + 10 year old girl).
I found savannah explorer because it is always important to us to book with a company in the country we are traveling to so that our holiday budget goes to the people in the country and not to large office buildings and wages in Europe!
The organization by Micky in the office in Arusha was very quick and perfect, implemented and fulfilled all of our wishes, all at a very fair price-performance ratio! We also thought it was great that part of our money automatically went to certain local aid projects!
Micky also made it possible for us to get a German-speaking guide (our girl doesn't speak any foreign languages yet).
Daniel (our guide) picked us up at Kilimanjaro airport in the jeep, the next morning we set off: Arusha, Tarangire NP, lake Manyara NP, 3 days Serengeti including great migration, Ngorongoro NP, Arusha.
Daniel spoke great German and was a very pleasantly calm and patient personality, but there was never a lack of fun. As a driver (keyword “African massage”) and mechanic he was also first class. He showed us everything we wanted to see and answered all 10,000 questions we had. We also learned a lot of Swahili from him! We saw all the big 5 and ugly 5, all the animals that were on our list, the great migration on the 2nd attempt the next morning (because the wildebeest were too cowardly to go into the water the day before)
The lodge (Ngorongoro marera mountain view lodge 3 nights) and the tented camps (Serengeti Kifaru tented camps - 2 nights) and mara pure migration camp (1 night) belong to savannah explorer ltd and are a real highlight of the trip! The lodge is in the middle of nature (more like a jungle), in the tented camps you are amazed at what is possible so far away from civilization! Everything is super clean, perfectly furnished, always warm water, light and electricity in the tent, the dinner and breakfast as well as the packed lunch are very good quality and tasty! At night the grazing zebras and the playing, eating elephants, lions, hyenas and wildebeest right around the tent are very exciting and an amazing experience! But we always felt very safe and protected! The best thing about the lodges and camps are the people who work there, who are all so cheerful and passionate about their work that you feel as if you were being greeted as good old friends! At breakfast or farewell, the chef, waiter, etc. sing a little song. My girl was given a Simba Sportclub Trickot (a dream for her!) We have never experienced such hospitality anywhere in the world!!!
You can never get enough of the “street life” between the national parks, smiling people waving everywhere, colorful shops, fruit stands, overcrowded buses and other means of transport, Maasai, buildings in all shapes, colors and sizes, wonderfully diverse nature.
Finally, Daniel drove with us to a school near Mto wa Mbu where we distributed the school supplies we had brought with us. This experience touched all of our hearts and we all had tears of emotion in our eyes at the joy and enthusiasm of the children, teachers and parents!
All in all, this safari with Daniel and Savannah Explorer touched us very deeply and was incomparably great! A real “once in a lifetime” experience that we can highly recommend to everyone!
Thank you Daniel, thank you Micky and Savannah explorer, thank you team Marera mountain view Lodge and Kifaru Camp, thank you Tanzania for these great impressions! we come as clients, we leave as friends! we will never forget you!

Once in a lifetime experience
We had an unforgettable 5-day safari in Tanzania as a family of four, visiting Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater. The experience was made even more incredible thanks to our guide, Emanuel, from Savannah Explorers. From start to finish, Emanuel was absolutely fantastic.
He was always in a great mood, incredibly knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure our trip was perfect. His enthusiasm was contagious, and he seemed to know exactly what we needed before we even asked. Emanuel was always ready to help, whether it was explaining animal behavior, finding the best spots for viewing, or making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of.
We were lucky enough to see the Big 5, plus cheetahs and even a python—thanks to Emanuel’s sharp eyes and expertise. His ability to spot wildlife and his deep understanding of the Tanzanian wilderness made each day a new adventure.
Emanuel and Savannah Explorers truly made our safari a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We will absolutely recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Tanzania. Thank you for the incredible memories!

Memorable 10-day safari experience in Tanzania
We had our first ever Safari trip with Savannah Explorers, with Nickson being our guide. The experience was beyond amazing.
We went for 10 days, places we went including Tarangire National Park, Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti and Lake Natron. Micky helped us arranged our trip, and he was responsive and professional.
Our guide was Nickson, who is the BEST guide. We were able to see all the big 5 but even more, including cheetah hunting, baby lion cubs, and wildebeest crossing. We felt very lucky to have him as our guide!
During our trip, we stayed in Ngorongoro Marera Moutain View Lodge, Serengeti Kifaru Tented Lodge, Mara Pure Migration Camp and Lake Natron Tented Camp. All the places were super clean and the staffs were so nice that made us felt warm welcomes. And not to mention that foods were amazing too!
I’d like to thank Nickson, Micky and Savannah Explorer for this wonderful experience.

The best trip in Tanzania
Crossing southern Tanzania, from Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park passing between small villages and City in the mountains, we discovered Tanzania less touristy Tanzania, which I wanted to see with my children. A perfectly organized trip, personalized according to our needs and desires.
We were always accompanied by a local guide who spoke perfect Italian, not easy in Tanzania, who with sympathy and professionalism introduced us to the history, culture and nature of this wonderful country. Both safaris were really exciting, with their Diversity, we came into contact with the animals up close and we admired them from afar. Each lodge had its own peculiarity, all beautiful, perfectly clean, integrated into the environment and with attention to detail. How wonderful to wake up at dawn to the sounds of birds and admire the colors of the sky!
Thank you Alessandra Gnesutta, thanks to you! We will remember this trip forever!

Expert, efficient, mindful of detail, discreet
I traveled with my family, 4 people in total, with my two 23 and 26 years old children. The 11 days tour included six days of safari and three days in Zanzibar. The travel was organised online through the Evaneos operator which redirected us to a direct contact with Savannah Explorers. With the assistance of our Savannah Explorers' local expert, Sultan, we managed to organise a fully customised tour, including safari in Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro, plus 3 days in Zanzibar. The local expert was very efficient and fast in replying to all my iterations, proposing excellent solutions both in terms of destinations and lodging.
All the tour details were taken care by Savannah Explorers and we could travel in full safety from the arrival in Zanzibar to the departure back to Italy. Everything went absolutely smoothly. The local expert took care of us at every relevant step (transfers, accommodations, etc.) but also solved unwelcome problems like baggage lost by KLM in Amsterdam: Savannah Explorers people made all the necessary steps to get the lost luggage and deliver it to us, while we were enjoying our Safari in Serengeti. During our stay, contacts with the local expert were extremely easy through whatsapp and the replies quick (essentially in real time) and efficient. That was very importat to make us feel constantly supported every day.
The guide provided by Savannah Explorers for the safari, John, was exceptional. He guided us through Serengeti with incredible exeperience, bringing us always in the right place at the right moment. He showed great respect to the environment (you could see him suddenly stopping in the grasslands, to collect an abandoned plastic bottle or other garbage) and transmitted us all his enthusisam and love for the wildlife (animals, plants), his home land, with its breathtaking landscapes, and his people. In addition, he was able to drive for hours with great patience and in full safety along the challenging tracks of Serengeti, giving us plenty of time to take pictures and admire all the beatiful things he brought us to see.
Accommodation solutions proposed by the operator were excellent and fully compliant with our wishes: a beautiful lodge for the first and last night in the safari area, to restore ourselves, and tented camps in the serengeti, for a full immersion in the wildlife.
If you go to Serengeti, you must stay in tented camps for a full immertion in the wildlife!
Tented camps are exceptionally comfortable. Tents feature private bathroom with shower, as well as very comfortable beds, still preserving the experience of full immersion in the bush, with zebras grazing close to the tents at night and lions roaring in the distance. Surprisingly enough, tented camps feature an excellent free internet connection, that allowed us to keep in contact daily with our relatives in Italy! (btw: no need for any expensive telephone option to call your beloved: a daily whatsapp video call is as easy as in your home country when you are at the tented camps!). We stayed two nights at Kifaru Tented Lodge in central Serengeti and one night in Kontiki Mobile Tented Camp, in northern Serengeti.
In both cases we found extremely friendly, efficient and supprtive personnel, as well as an excellent kitchen! The tents were impeccably clean and after a long day in the savannah we could restore ourseves by drinking a fresh Kilimanjaro beer.
Furthermore, tented camps are very sustainable structures, being essentially fully self-sufficient from th energy supply point of view, with solar panels for electricity and hot water production. Their impact on the environment is minimal being perfectly integrated in the savannah.
Our tour included 5 days of safari, including Tarangire park which is absolutely to be visited and really surpising! Tarangire features a high density of animals, including, among others, lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes. Elephants walking in the river bed for their mud shower were an unforgettable experience. We then moved to central Serengeti, with its breathtaking landscapes, as well as the beautiful animals (we saw 4 of the big 5) and to northern Serengeti, to admire the awesome great migration with hundreds of thousands of gnus grazing in the immense grasslands, as well as their dramatic attempts to cross the river Mara. If you go to Serengeti in July-August, including a day in northern Serengeti is mandatory!
Finally we spent a whole day in Ngoronogoro, another place that you can not miss by any means: truly the eighth world wonder! If you plan a tour in Tanzania, you definitely must include a day in Ngorongoro. There, thanks to John, we were able to see also the last missing big 5: the rhino!
We finally spent three days in Zanzibar in an excellent resort proposed by Savannah Explorers. To be frank, if you want to stay a few days in Zanziabr, you probably better go there before the safari. At least to me, the safari experience overwhelmed any possible expectation and eventually the stay in Zanzibar was somewhat "average" after that.
Clearly not a fault of the operator, but Zanzibar has a severe problem of eco-sustainability: plastics is ubiquitous and the beautiful white coralline beaches are plagued by an unacceptable level of plastic garbage, notwithstanding the restless effort by the hotel personnel to clean up. Nevertheless, our stay in Zanzibar was excellent, the hotel beautiful and the personnel friendly and efficient.
To conclude, if you plan to travel to Tanzania for a safari, i enthusiastically suggest you to do it through Savannah Explorers!
