passion and good organization
I have done a few short trips organized by Tarakwais when I had guests, family and friends, when I was living in Tanzania; I enjoyed each one of them; Jey, the guy behind it is very passionate and organized and can really go the extra mile to make guests feel comfortable. I recommend it

From the first contact it was obvious these guys were really focused on my needs. The itinerary we settled on took into consideration all our requests and accomodation /meals/transport was all handled with ease . The driver and the guide were so knowledgeable and easy to be with . No hassles even with the long days , A once in a lifetime experience, we not only saw incredible wildlife and nature on the drives , we got to spend time in a massai boma , go on nature walks , swim .. a great balance of movement and chilled places to rest and take it all in . Price was highly competitive, and now I see we got a lot of individual attention right through the process so no hesitation recommending Tarakwai for your Safari in Tanzania . . Lake Natron was exquisite, really grateful we got this experience, was amazing .

An amazing experience
Big thanks to Tarakwai for organizing a great trip I will never forget. The walking safari in the wild, seeing the animals without a shield of a car was priceless! The local guide Ahmidiwe shared his valuable knowledge about the animals, the plants and the symbiotic relationship. The trip was well organized and the connection with and support to the local community was something I appreciated. I can highly recommend Tarakwai Safaris.

Authentic, off the beaten path, familiar and exciting!
My experience traveling with Tarakwai Safaris tour was as authentic, familiar, non-pretentious, exciting and well priced as it gets.
My trip was organized by locals with great taste and the consciousness for animals, lands and people of Tansania.
Tarakwai offers a diverse and wide range of trips across the country. Anything is possible and it's so easy to communicate with them.

Tarakwai is a new, passionate and insightful Safari Tour Operator
My mom and I had a wonderful experience with Tarakwai Safaris.
We travelled with them very early on while the company was still in the making which gave us a good insight into their greater vision.
The food was always great and there was plenty of variety especially for a rather picky eater like me.
The guides seemed genuinely passionate about their work and were very open minded.
We also loved how flexible everything about the trip was. It seemed like they would have made any idea or wish possible.
Most importantly.. we felt safe and very well taken care of from the minute we got picked up at the airport.

Excellent safari operator! great guides who know the lands, the people, and wildlife. Fantastic accommodation options and very flexible, especially for a solo female traveller. Great value for money! would definitely travel with them again and highly recommend them!

I feel blessed at having discovered Tarakwai Safaris.
I had an absolutely amazing experience with Jay and generally Tarkwai Safaris and I can just highly recommend everyone to book their safari with the Tarakwai ! I really had an incredible time!
Our guide Johnson was super knowledgeable and told us so much about all the different animals, the nature and in general the Tanzanian culture, which was absolutely great! He was also super funny and always in a really good mood which made the car rides really enjoyable and we had a lot of fun. He also knew exactly where to find the animals up close and knew all the different spots where not many other safari cars would go to. Also, our chef (forgot the name) was absolutely great! The food was super delicious and really everything tasted so good! He prepared many vegetarian alternatives for me as well, which was really nice!
All in all, I had an unforgettable experience! Everything was super well organized from the start to the end and our guide Johnson and chef were absolutely amazing! So, I can can 10/10 recommend Tarakwai Safaris!
All around carefree package
Many times, I went to Asia, but this trip was my first to Africa. And of course, I wanted to do a safari in Tanzania. So, we travelled with Tarakwai on a tour into the Usambara Mountains and for a Safari to Mkomazi National Park.
We started with some hiking in the Magamba Forest Reserve in the Usambara Mountains. Tarakwai guided us precisely to the hotspots of fauna and flora of the reserve. We stayed at the Lawns Hotel in Lushoto and had an intense barbeque party the same evening with the reserve management and live gospel sounds from the neighbouring church. A nice start to a tour.
I went February/March, it had rained, the vegetation in northern Tanzania was green and exceptionally powerful. The next destination, Mkomazi Park has an incredible variety of birds at this time. Animals in this impressiveness I could only see in West Papua so far. The mammals are widely scattered after the rains, nevertheless the guides led us again and again to groups of Masai Giraffes, Oryx, Bushbuck, Gazelles, Kudus, Impalas and Zebras. We stayed in a luxurious tented camp located on the edge of an endless plain. The tour was a unique experience full of surprises and natural beauty.
The Tarakwai guides are always relaxed, helpful and knowledgeable. The location we were shown were exciting and gave us a great view of Africa's nature and culture. I look forward to the next tour because Tanzania is huge.

Top safari thanks to a superb team!
The trip was a great success thanks to the Tarakwai team. In contrast to the mass tourism that is slowly but surely developing in the safari sector, Tarakwai has a very personal approach. They also put special emphasis on sustainability, especially in the choice of accommodation. This gives participants the rare opportunity to meet locals on a very different basis than ordinary tourists. After all, many encounters are possible thanks to the team's personal contact with the residents and are therefore particularly memorable. In addition, the entire team is very likeable and always sociable. I can recommend it without any reservations.
