Excellent but ask about tips!
4/5

7 day Machame route on Kilimanjaro followed by 3 day safari at Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater.

Trek was excellent. Guide was great, food fantastic (especially given we were camping on a mountain!). We finished in 6 days which we appreciated (as we were all able to summit successfully). Only issue here was with tips. We tipped the recommended amount according to the Tanzanian Porters Association but the guides and porters had been told to expect two-three times more. I would encourage speaking to Cubs when booking to clarify what exactly the expected tipping situation is. Especially as the staff were all so fantastic!

Safari was great. We didn’t see as many of the rare animals as we had been hoping but not through any fault of our guide. The camping was fine, but be aware that if you are in a group with an odd number of people you will be asked to share a tent with someone else. Perhaps to be expected for a shared safari but I think worth mentioning upfront.

Overall, we definitely recommend Cubs for both trekking and safaris (especially given their low price compared to most other companies) and it would have been 5/5 if the above issues had been mentioned to us beforehand so we knew better what to expect.

Experience that exceeded our expectations
5/5

Parks visited: Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro.
My friend and I booked this trip to celebrate my bday as I'd always been keen to do a safari in Tanzania and it was amazing. The team for the safari, the people, landscapes, food, and the animals were all greeeat. It was a 6-people group tour, we found out who the other 4 people were once we arrived to Arusha, but it was a match! Our guide (Julius) and cook (Nixon), made the trip a wonderful moment too. They were both really arranging, both for finding the animals that interested us and for the choice of food. You wont be disappointed by the food (even if it consists of +/- the same elements every day, the sauces they make are delicious).
We slept in tents for the nights between the Serengeti and Ngorongoro game drives and the fact that you sleep in tents close to/in the national parks is an experience on its own! Not because you couldn't do it anywhere else, but because you go to sleep or wake up and there are all sort of wild animals around! (which you don't get in Paris, where we live). We even had a toilet-blocking elephant for a day who was eating up all the trees around our tents (luckily none fell on top of our tent). It also gives you the chance of looking at the animals for longer than in the game drives and take some more pics 😉
We managed to see the famous "big five". I don't know if it's because of the period of the year we visited (oct 29-nov 6), but there are cubs of all animals everywhere (so expect to see baby animals around). We loved photographing those cuties!
The parks are all different. Although people say that Tarangire and Lake Manyara are similar, the distribution of animals is different and you get to see more Baobabs in Tarangire. Serengeti definitely needs a visit of at least 2 full days, the place is huge, and the more time spent there, the more chances of finding leopards and cheetahs (there are less easy to find than lions)! Ngorongoro is magical, but it is definitely colder than the other parks (so don't forget your warm clothes for when the sun isn't there).
We had to stay over a whole extra day in Arusha before our flight back home (just because the flights were cheaper ^^) and the people from Cubs Exp. were super arranging for that too. The price is excellent for what you get and Tanzania is a perfect place for a first safari!
Our final message to all the people we met: Thanks for the experience, we keep a warm memory in our hearts!

Stunning!
5/5

Humphrey organized everything for us very last minute! He even prepared a safari schedule for us that would accommodate our time and finances perfectly. He organized accommodation with food included for three nights including the nights before and after the safari days. We felt very safe and taken care of. We were picked up immediately from the bus station in Arusha and taken to our hotel where Humphrey gave us a run down of what the days would look like. We went to Tarangire National Park and Ngorogoro Crater and had a great time at both parks and saw so much! I would definitely recommend booking your safari with Cubs expeditions, you won’t regret it.

Amazing experience
5/5

This safari with Cubs Expedition has been incredible. I really wanted to go on a safari and everything went great with them. They were very attentive at all times. We contacted this safari through Humprey, who was very attentive and friendly at all times. We had a cook who makes delicious food, with flavour and good quantities, and two guides, Brayson and Elis, who made everything even better, as they were attentive to us at all times and helped us with everything. They were two very friendly and approachable people who made us feel at home. Brayson speaks perfect Spanish and explains everything very well, making him a good guide in Spanish. Elis is a person who is open to everything and, above all, very approachable, who will brighten up your days with her jokes and joy.

Spectacular Safari with Cubs Expeditions thanks to Brayson and Elis
5/5

I came to my safari trip in Tanzania with very high expectations and, without a doubt, thanks to Cubs Expeditions, these have even been exceeded. The cook makes delicious food, the experience of listening to the animals of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro at night has been spectacular and very peaceful, but without a doubt Brayson and Elis have made everything even better, as they have treated us as if we were part of their family from the first moment and, in the end, we have almost become so, after so many hours and jokes together and I can say that, if one day they travel to Spain, they have their home in Spain. Brayson explains everything perfectly in Spanish, with all the details and answers all the questions in a very illustrative way. Elia is the essence of everything, cheerful, friendly and willing to make you enjoy the whole time. In addition, with him you will also practice your English and he ends up speaking more Spanish than he knows, as it was both on the days we went in a group and on the day we traveled with just the two of them (our safari was 3 days with a group of Spaniards in 2 jeeps and the last day we were alone). Do not hesitate to do the safari with this company by asking Humprey, who manages the trip and is also very attentive, to do it with Brayson and Elis.

Amazing Safari
5/5

Everything went well. HUMPHREY was very kind and attentive to our requests. He always responded completely and quickly to our requests. The cook Halid has always prepared excellent and abundant food. Our guide Samuel was good. He drove for many hours and stopped whenever we needed it and helped us find the animals hidden in the grass. They were all extremely kind and helpful.
