Efficiency
5/5

I booked a safari with azas safaris Uganda in March 2024 , I wanted to spend summer holiday in Uganda. I searched them online via their website and on safari booking , they replied instantly and prisca made it easy for me to book the trip. They kept on giving me weekly updates about my trip until 15th June 2024 when I began my trip.
Fast forward , my 10 days trip was very well organized with nice hotels , I liked kyaninga lodge in kibale national park and mahogany springs hotels in Bwindi . The highlight of my trip was gorilla trekking in Bwindi and murchison falls , what a beautiful scenery .
My guide Jimmy was good , with best knowledge about animals , and a care full driver .
😊 our vehicle got stuck in a muddy road in kibale forest , it was a moment pushing it out from the mud with the locals .
I recommend azas safaris Uganda and jimmy the guide.

The review below is the personal opinion of Jenny and not that of SafariBookings.
Unethical
1/5

I booked a 12 day safari in Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania in September 2023 for a trip scheduled the end of June 2024 (fully paid for April 2024). At the time of booking I was promised all confirmations of lodges, flights. The beginning of June, I reached out to their office to request the promised confirmations 3 times. When I did finally receive the confirmations, they were only for the Uganda portion. I repeatedly requested the confirmations for Kenya and Tanzania and was repeatedly told “everything is reserved.” This turned out to be the first of many lies made by the head of the company, Simon. The day before my flight to Kenya, with no evidence of a flight from Entebbe to Nairobi, I contacted the lodge in Kenya to confirm my reservation. I discovered the reservation had been made but was not paid for, so they had not released the confirmation. Additionally, I was informed the Kenya agent they outsourced (they contacted her the DAY I ARRIVED to organize that portion!!) had not been paid for the additional 7 nights (lodging, flights, activities) in Kenya and Tanzania. My flight from Uganda to Kenya, which I was also told conflicting lies and excuses about, was purchased by an office worker 6 hours before scheduled departure. As of this time, the payment (which is significant) to the agent in Kenya (who is beyond superb) is unpaid by Azas. Avoid this company at all costs.

hello jennifer , thank you so much for your review and we take your concern so serious , From the start, Jennifer you booked with azas safaris Uganda , its true . you came to Uganda and did all you ware supposed to do( for 5 days) , on the day you were supposed to go to Kenya there was an issue with your flight we had booked before which needed immediate amendment, we are sorry if we amended it the way you never liked . you were coming from Bwindi on 22nd June 2024 in the mid morning with Aerlolink airline(a domestic flight). it was arriving Entebbe at 11:00AM , then your flight to kenya that you wanted was at 8:00am the same day with Uganda airlines which we had paid earlier but it was interrupted by change in program by aerlolink from Bwindi to Kampala this was an error by an airline but we own it .
What we did was , we paid for another flight on the same date with the Ugandan airline arriving in Kenya at 9pm.
To help jennifer our client pass a day without boredom, we paid K hotels in Entebbe for her to rest and also we paid for her tour to Mabamba swamp for birding so she can be busy and later go to Kenya . Of which she accepted.

Where did the problem come from?
When she(Jennifer) was in Bwindi at mahogany hotel we sent to her a contact of Teresa , a kenyan operator , of which they started talking and revising the program , Teresa convinced her and gave her another plan , on reaching Entebbe (on 22nd June 2024) , she met with azas safaris personnel , they convinced her to follow the program so that her trip in kenya and Tanzania is a success, she refused , she blocked us on whatsapp ,she refused to go to Khotels and chose to board to kenya and meet Teresa, it hurt us because we wanted to make her trip a success , on 23rd June 2024 , she never talked to us , we never blamed her because we understood her argument , on 24th morning Through Teresa number on whatsapp she texted us back and told us to pay Teresa both Kenya trip and Tanzania Trip. We told her(our client) that Teresa was only to do a Kenya trip and Tanzania trip was supposed to be done by Daniel of a company called moving sand Africa of which he was already paid, Jennifer turned this down, we have the invoice and proof of payment to Daniel. She(Jennifer) said that she wants Teresa to do both, we kindly understand it was a business opportunity for Teresa , so we never wanted to spoil both side, we let Teresa go on with a client.

Why did we pay Daniel and never pay Teresa earlier ?

We have worked with Daniel for many trips in Tanzania , and it was our first time to work in Kenya with Teresa, so we wanted to pay for a trip when Teresa has received a client because Kenya is near, we can pay instantly . Teresa used that advantage to take over our client because a client talked to her more than she talked to us. But we are glad a client continued and completed a trip with Teresa.

SOLUTION

When all that came about , I told Jennifer we can refund your money , and she promised to send bank details to us, we are willing to refund her all her money and we shall improve next time.
We are very sorry where we went wrong , next time we shall do better.

They selected very beautiful lodges for us and a perfect itinerary where we got to see the gorillas and chimpanzees. We were more than happy with the service that we received. I would choose them again.

Unforgettable trip to Uganda!
5/5

We had the most beautifull experience in Uganda! In 3 weeks, we enjoyed Sipi Falls, Kidepo NP, Queen Elisabeth NP, the magnificent Murchison Park and the Falls (never seen such a stunning and powerfull Fall!), Kibale NP, with an unforgettable Chimpansee tracking!! We enjoyed a boatride on the Nile, a boatride at the Kasingachannel, we will never forget the stunning Gorillatracking, it was amazing!! Our last 2 days we stayed at M’Buro Lake NP.
we saw many buffalo’s, Lions, lions with cobs, a Leopard with a kob, snakes, hyena’s, girafs, zebra’s, Topi’s, impala’s, elands, elephants, hartebeests, lot’s of hippo’s, many, many little and very big birds, crocodiles, ….
We visited a school
We visited a coffee plantation and a banana plantation and we went to a community centre for women, we had also a tour with the very friendly Batwa people
The weather in september was very good, warm but everyday a little or a less little shower.
The local people were very friendly. Everyday, we had excelent food in the lodges and on the road.
The roads are very bad, you definatly need a 4wheeldrive and a local driver.
Thanks to Azas Safaris, our trip was well organised and we had the best driver/ranger Christopher!
We definitaly recommand Azas Safari! We might contact them to maybe organise our trip to Tanzania!

Unforgettable trip in Uganda!
5/5

Thanks to Azas Safaris we had an unforgettable tour in Uganda! Everything was arranged down to the last detail, the lodges they suggested were more than excellent, the trip was varied and they took our wishes into account, both in advance and on site. Our driver/ranger Christopher did everything he could to make the trip unforgettable. He is a good driver and explains a lot, knows how to find the animals and birds and does not impose himself.

Reliable & excellent service
5/5

My husband and I booked our travels to Uganda with Azas Safari and it was such a soul-filling and memorable trip for us. Of course, we went for the gorilla trekking and we went for 3 days trekking package.

Prisca helped us plan our stays and trip. She was very informative and attentive with all my questions. Our guide in Bwindi, Julius is immensely friendly and helpful. We stayed at Buhome Lodge and everything there was amazing. From service, cleanliness, food, and the people! We are beyond grateful to be surrounded by lovely people in Uganda. Simon was very accommodating too with our airport transfers and entebbe transits.
Needless to say, gorilla trekking was 10/10.

Overall it’s definitely a trip we won’t forget. We thank you everyone involved. It was short but sweet!

Enjoyable trip to Uganda
5/5

Did a week trip with my partner to Uganda.

Visited Bwindi (Gorilla's) - stayed at Mahogany Springs Safari Lodge. The lodge was 10/10, food, service, view. Would love to go back.
During time in Bwindi we did the Batwa Culture Experience, really didn't know what do expect but was one of the highlights of the trip. The history is kind of sad but the people were amazing.
Gorilla trek - 10/10 no real need to explain.

Visited Kibale National Park. Started at Turaco Treetops, ideally would have stayed there longer, only one night which meant we missed out on spending more time with the birds and view. Food also excellent!

Finished at Murchison Falls National Park. Game drives was awesome, felt a lot more natural than in South Africa. River Cruise was spectacular, loads of birds and hippos, elephants etc. Stayed at Pakuba Safari Lodge, the lodge itself was the least modern of the three (although only one with air con), but the service was awesome. Food was mostly buffet but the standard of food was still very good. One thing I really enjoyed about Pakuba is all the guides eat dinner with the people they are hosting, there is something really nice about that.

Our guide was Muhumuza Christopher 'Chris'. His knowledge of Uganda history was excellent, his animal knowledge was also almost flawless (we did manage to spot one bird that neither he or we could identify and he spend 30 minutes looking through books, checking with fellow guides etc to make sure he gave us the right information), but probably his best skill was spotting animals. He spotted a lion in a tree that many other guides drove straight past and he could see small birds in trees miles away. If you are looking for someone who is an expert in guiding he is your guy.

Chris is also super passionate about Uganda which I really loved. There is nothing more special than someone that takes such pride in what their country has to offer.

Only a couple minor issues with the tour, they misbooked our return flight which meant we had to drive it. Not the biggest issue but a minor annoyance.
Secondly I think we could have done with a bit more guidance on the tour, we probably ended up travelling a bit more than we first thought, but also could have done with a bit more advice on where to go and the route to take. That being said I enjoyed every minute of it but some people might not want to sit in a car for so long.

Amazing 3 days with my wife. Thanks Simon!
5/5

Amazing 3 days in Tanzania, me and my wife had a dream to visit Tanzania and have a hot balloon flying around serengeti national park, Azas safaris made it possible . We contacted Prisca through a friend who did the same trip before and Prisca did the best for us, we were picked from Kilimanjaro airport, Cyrus our guide first took us to sight mountain Kilimanjaro and later headed to our lodge in Arusha , the following morning we headed to Serengeti national park, and had an evening game drive and we saw wonders, what a plenty of animals, many wild beasts, a lot of zebras, lions, Buffors, indeed Serengeti is a game park of wonders, the following morning which was our last day, we had a hot balloon safari, it's amazing , it's a recommendable activity to everyone dreaming of visiting Serengeti national park, thanks to our guide Cruys, he's so good in describing animals and their behaviors, he helped us too feel at home, and taught us some Kiswahili, habari :) meaning how are you.
We can't wait to visit Tanzania again, and also Uganda because Simon the owner of Azas described Uganda and we desired to visit it one day, I recommend Azas safaris Uganda.
