Friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and committed to providing the best for us.
We booked onto a 3 day safari in Selous Game Reserve which consisted of a full day game drive on day 1; a bush walk with local Masai and herbalist doctor, a local village tour with a local guide and a sunset river Safari on day 2; and a Masai village visit where we learnt about the village life and were able to join in some the activities on day 3. All of our drivers were very punctual and friendly and our guides were fantastic! So many brilliant stories from their lives here in Tanzania and facts about the different elements of life and nature here. Our accommodation was good. There had been an issue with our room before we arrived which rendered it out of action but they put us into another room which had been newly built and was clean, had a ceiling fan and good amenities including a constant supply of bottled water. As it was newly built there were a few teething problems but the staff were very quick to put anything right. The accommodation had a clean pool and food was good and plentiful.
Game drive day 1: Our guide Mr Martino was absolutely brilliant! He made us feel at ease the whole time and made sure we always had a good supply of water and there were bottles of soda too to drink. His knowledge on the animals was excellent and there weren’t any questions he wasn’t able to answer. The way the driver and Mr Martino found the animals in the vast park was incredibly impressive and we saw so many of the animals, up close and the whole experience is one we will remember forever.
Day 2: All guides on this day were brilliant. And we enjoyed each of the parts for different reasons. Our highlight was the river Safari where we got to enjoy sunset on the beach of the river, watching the hippos bathing and playing.
Day 3: the Masai visit was truly brilliant. The chief of the village took us around and immersed us into the village life for a few hours.
Overall, a visit we’ll never forget. Thank you so much!

Once in a lifetime experience with the best guide
From our experience the best value to money Safari. We booked the 5-day Safari (Mikumi + Nyerere National Parks). Ask for „Kapande“ as your personal Guide. The most welcoming and humble Guide we could have asked for. Always friendly and fluent in English. He is well-known among other guides, rangers and staff since he has been a Guide for the last 10+ years. He knows a lot about the wildlife and where to look for them during Game Drive. Expect long rides but very comfortable travel. We always felt safe and secure. Overall an experience wie will never forget!

Good experience
We did the trip named "12-Day Incredible Safari of Game Drive, Stone Age, Hiking". Season: august. This proposal includes Mikumi N.P., Ruaha N.P., Isimila Stone Age site, Udzungwa mountains trek and Nyerere N.P. We enjoyed a lot this trip, it has been a nice experience. Our guide, Kapande, did a excellent work, offering us kindness, punctuality and professionalism every day.
All National Parks are very nice. Mikumi is small, so looks a bit crowded, but on the other hand it's easy to see animals. Ruaha N.P is far away, indeed, but offer us the opportunity to enjoy a safari in a uncrowded place, where is rare to come across other vehicles. Nyerere N.P. is also a quiet place, and the river safari was pleasant, where we were alone. Udzungwa mountains trek was also very nice and peaceful (we choose to go to the big waterfall, distant 2 hours -walking slowly-).
Camp Bastian Mikumi: nice place. Kind staff, correct food (buffet food)
Ruaha Hilltop Lodge: very nice location, friendly people, correct food
Selous Safari Lodge: Excellent bungalows in a very nice garden... but poor food.
Selous Kinga Lodge: Nice bungalows in a quiet place. Correct food.
It is a trip designed for safari and nature lovers. It's worth.

The tour was very well organized, everything worked smoothly and on time. They were very flexible with changing and adjusting the itinerary according to our request. Our Guide- Alfa was amazing, very experienced and gave us a lot of information regarding the animals beaver and different plants in the savanna. It was really an amazing experience.

All you need for a dream Safari experience
We booked a 5 day safari in Selous with Uwanda tours. Mr. Salumu was highly responsive and accomodating to our needs. We got the best service we could wish for. Allways on time, with a smile. From pickup at the hotel, arranging the filghts to the actual Safari. We were assigned a guide, Mr. martino and a driver, Mr. Maneno. Both were seasoned Safari professionals with 15 years in the Selous area. They were punctual, polite, patient and highly knowlegable in the area and its inhabitants. We got to see all the animals up close with some fun encounters. They were very accomodating to our wishes and made our experience one to remember. The Safari plan in itself is varied and gave us a chance to experience not only the wildlife but the nearby villages and Masai boma. The only issue we had was at the first night at the lodge of our choice when we did not recieve one of the rooms we booked. Uwanda took responsability tried to rectify the issue and offered compensation for our discomfort. I would highly recommend them for your next Safari adventure, you won't regret it !

Uwanda Tours is professional, responsive and gave us a tour that exceeded expectations!
Uwanda Tours and Safaris is an exceptionally professional company and Salumu was very responsive and patient during the planning stages our our trip. He guided us through every question and made perfect recommendations for our 10 day safari in the southern circuit of Tanzania, despite it being "rainy" season. The flexibility, open-ended possibilities if we needed to reroute due to rain was very reassuring. Our guide, Emanuel is extremely knowledgeable, and guided us through very long journeys from one place to another (Dar Es Salaam-Mikumi-Udzungwa-Nyerere-Dar Es Salaam) with amazing driving skill (we chose drive the distances to see the country, long but worth every minute), exceptional knowledge about every single inch of every park, knows everyone and is extremely friendly and strong (no problem on rough roads, long drives, hard to spot animals). Everything was perfect, and definitely do research with different types of lodges or tented camps that suit your interests as there are several options inside the parks and outside (we recommend lodges inside the parks to be closer to the animals). The ONLY suggestion we have is if anyone chooses the driving route to these stunning areas of Tanzania, to request a safari truck with reclining seats if possible. The drives are spectacular and there is so much to see along the way and you don't feel the time, but could use the recline to rest along the way. The lodges, the parks, the people, the scenery...makes a world of difference with the right guide! Thank you for the most incredible memories and we will be back!
