Michael was extremely knowledgeable, polite and flexible to suit our requirements.
Michael was a professional but unassuming guide for our week long safari to the Serengeti and surrounding villages.
He was extremely well versed in his knowledge of the area, the people, the wildlife and the history of his country. He could explain any inquiry we had - which were many- and he expounded on his information if we wished to know more,in a subtle manner. His communication skills are excellent; he was always on time each day and followed the schedule but was flexible to suit our requests.
His deep respect for the wildlife was evident every day in his manner of explaining what we were experiencing.
He is a kind, educated,thoughtful and respectful man.
This trip was an amazing experience in getting to see some of Tanzanian life and a safari; far beyond what we believed it would be, due to Michael as our guide.

Amazing off the beaten path trip with an eagle eyed guide
Knowledgeable, organized, and eagled eyed, our guide put on an incredible off the beaten path tour for me, my girlfriend and a few friends. Watching the sun set over a flock of flamingos on lake natron with only a local villager or finding a cold beer from a camp site in the remoteness of the northern Serengeti to enjoy is testament to the type of experience Safari bug can put together. Travelling on this tour, I felt we began to understand some of the many secrets of an incredible area.
We did the camping style trip and would absolutely recommend to any adventurous person - we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the more remote sites (in the north sereghetti and smaller parks). They all had showers and toilets. The sites were clean with no litter. Food was tasty and local. We felt remarkably safe (except once when a stubborn zebra wouldn’t let us get into our tent).
The car was comfortable with spacious seats. I was able to shoot my telephoto lens with ease out of the windows or pop up roof.

An unforgettable trip
This week turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience. From the first to the last day, we enjoyed every minute that we had. The car is very comfortable and we all had a good sight outside the windows. Everything was perfectly organised so we could just relax and enjoy the trip. Our guide David took really good care of us! It was very interesting to hear many facts about the animals and places that we‘ve seen, David has a lot of knowledge and patience to share. Thanks to him, we saw many different and rare animals, he was the one who spotted every single one of them. I will definitely do a safari again with TSB!

Very Professional and incredible experience
Michael is an incredible and very skilled guide! He showed us the beauty of his country and due to his great experience we were able to see all animals you wish for: e.g leopards, lions, the big five and many more. He explained us the animal habitat and shared his culture. We highly recommend him and would for sure book him again!

Thank you for unforgettable days that gave us insights and impressions of Tanzania. Thank you for the perfect preparation and planning and the smooth process. Michael is not only a careful driver but also a connoisseur of nature, land and people. Hakuna Matata - "No problem" - literally every question, every concern was solved to our complete satisfaction. With his modest and unobtrusive manner, Michael brought us closer to the fascinating wildlife of Africa.
I am also very thankful for the successful mix of accommodations - from a simple but unexpectedly comfortable tented camp to a beautiful lodge with a pool. Unforgettable also the stay on the island Mafia. Swimming together with a majestic whale shark - definitely an experience that will be remembered for a long time.
Sandra & Michael, you are a strong team and we wish you continued success with your company. Keep it up!

Hakuna Matata - " Kein Problem" - sprichwörtlich wurde jede Frage, jedes Anliegen zur vollsten Zufriedenheit gelöst. Mit seiner bescheidenen und unaufdringlichen Art hat Michael uns die faszinierende Tierwelt Afrikas näher gebracht.
Ich bin auch sehr dankbar für den gelungenen Mix an Unterkünften - von einfachem, jedoch unerwartet komfortablen Zeltcamp bis wunderschöner Lodge mit Pool. Unvergesslich auch der Aufenthalt auf der Insel Mafia. Das gemeinsame Schwimmen mit einem majestätischen Walhai - ganz sicher ein Erlebnis, was lange in Erinnerung bleibt.

Arusha National Park, a rarely visited jewel
As part of our Tanzania tour through the famous national parks, we had a free day in Arusha before departure. Although we thought we were full from all previous experiences, we booked a day trip to the Arusha National Park with 'Tanzania Safari Bug' to use the time. Fortunately, this was possible in German, thanks to Sandra Rudolph-Msuya, the co-founder of 'Tanzania Safari Bug'.
We did not regret it. It was an eventful, exciting and yet relaxing safari day. After a short drive, the giraffes greeted us in the surprisingly lush vegetation. Zebras, waterbuck and baboons were all seen, as well as the rare black and white colobus monkeys high up in the trees. From Michael, our driver guide, we learned many new details about the life of the animals here in the park. Even the smallest creatures that make a healthy ecosystem perfect.
On the shores of the Momella Lakes we saw hundreds of flamingos, we passed the 'Fig Tree' where two fig trees grow together in form of an extremely photogenic passageway. The picnic with a view of Mt. Meru and Kilimanjaro was also an unforgettable experience. Short walks, during which we got closer to the plant world, relaxed the drive in the open off-road vehicle pleasantly.
Unfortunately, this trip to the Arusha National Park passed too quickly.

Private Safari in Southern Tanzania
After a COVID-related postponement of the trip, the time had finally come in September 2021 and we (my husband and I) were able to start our private safari through Southern Tanzania (Nyerere N.P., Mikumi N.P., Ruaha N.P., Udzungwa N.P.) with a beach holiday on Mafia Island – what an unforgettable trip!
From our point of view, the entire travel preparation and organization (complicated by COVID) worked perfectly and the communication (countless emails) was wonderful. We felt very personally advised and cared for!
The trip itself fully met our expectations – even exceeded them. We always felt in good hands with Michael and Richard and the “brought us closer” to real Tanzania. And the game drives with breathtaking animal observations were of course the highlight of our trip. The accommodations were great and the food mostly even better. And of course we really enjoy the quiet time (very few other guests).
Our conversations with Michael have now whetted our appetite for Northern Tanzania. And when the time comes, we can very well imagine requesting again with TANZANIA SAFARI BUG – we are sure it will be an individual trip away from the big tourist crowds.
So in short: many, many thanks for the excellent personal support before and during the trip and of course for the wonderful tour through Southern Tanzania.

Exceptional Safari followed by a beach holiday on Mafia Island
We were able to experience wonderful Safari days in Arusha ,Tarangire,Ngorongoro and Serengeti in the footsteps of Bernhard and Michael Schimek-a child‘s dream came true.We already planned these days in advance with Michael ans Sandra-they put everything together according to our wishes and gave us valuable trips and ideas,so that we could hardly wait until the trip.
Now after the trip,our expectations were exceeded.We were very impressed by the hike Arusha Nationalpark- past a herd of buffalo ,giraffes and pumbas,all the way to a waterfall which gave us a good chance to cool off.The other safari days were spend in the safari jeep.Our guide Innocent accompanied us for days and fulfilled all of our wishes.It was possible to spot all the Big Five.All the accommodations booked by Tanzania Safari Bug left nothing to be desired-we were always warmly welcomed with incredible food.
It is very important to emphasize that individual travel is important to us,the daily routine was scheduled according to our wishes,so that we could also enjoy some time in the accommodation.After the safari we went to Mafia Island where a little paradise awaited us.The best experience was diving with a whale shark-unforgettable!

Warmly welcomed by Sandra and Meik.
A unique experience! I was picked up at Kilimanjaro Airport. Warmly welcomed by Sandra and Meik. Their two children were already in bed, so there was a surprise in the morning. In Arusha I stayed with the family for two more days and was quickly integrated into everyday life.
Then I went on the tour – 6 days with Innocent as tour driver and what couldn’t he tell me about the country and in particular about the animals and the protection of the parks. Thank you very much for that and also a big thank you to Meik and Sandra for the planning; and the hassle-free trip.
It blew my mind to see so many animals. I have my best experience on video – a hippo that jumps into the lake and feels super good.
