Jambo!
We booked the well-known Safari-Sansibar-combination with „Tanzania Safari bug“ and had a really great vacation!
Our journey was well organized, the guidance in advance was extensive and professional (this lodge or this one, that National Park or the other, these excursions are possible at Sansibar, „We suggest this variation …“). For example, before the days in the jeep, we spent one day in the Arusha National Park to take a hike with a ranger. Safari by foot. Recommendable!
Our safari guide Michael was (like) a gift from heaven. He deeply knows the countryside, the animals and the plants – and the stories behind („Now they are hunting.“). And all the time he radiates a pleasant sense of calm. For us as a small group (mum, dad , one child (9)) it was a great thing, that we could arrange our days individually. What’s the use of a beautiful lodge, if you don’t have enough time to enjoy it (and not arrive until sundown)? Of course, the boy wants to go into the pool (and myself too).
Our stay at Michamvi on Sansibar we also enjoyed very much. But after seven days in the jeep we didn’t want to discover the island by car, so now our child was the guide and we spent our time in the water and at the beach. Sansibar still wants to be explored. Next time!
Of course again with "Tanzania Safari Bug".

From the landing in Arusha, everything was smooth and easy going. Michael, owner Tanzania Safari But greeted us at the airport and delivered safely to the lodge where we met his wife and kids. Such lovely personal touch. Next day we set off to Safari with our guide Gismass. Amazing guy, polite, funny, helpful and most importantly very interested into wildlife. Our safari itinerary was precisely prepared. We did visit Tangerine park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Tangerine was amazing introduction but the real adventure started in Serengeti, as we were able to follow great migration. Accommodation was perfectly selected, luxury tented lodges, usually with swimming pool and very good food. Lunches were arranged as picnics, very stylish with wine not missing. The car was reliable, comfortable and Gismass did not hesitate to accommodate our requests if possible. If you go for Safari you want to see as many animals as possible and Gismass is real expert in spotting them (including cats like leopards, cheetah or pair of lions on honeymoon) and explaining facts about their life, environment etc . The binocular was for disposal.
We spoke to two German tourist at the end of our safari who were very disappointed with heir experience and when comparing their itinerary which included central Serengeti only, we were lucky to explore west part and the north where watching wild beets crossing Mara river was one of the highlights of the trip.
We continue to Zanzibar, Safari Bug arranged the domestic flight and accommodation and excursions. Again, transportation was comfortable, the hotel excellent and no problems occurred.
In conclusion: this is a small company which adds a personal touch to your trip, the itineraries are carefully selected and the guides knowledgeable. Our accommodation was on higher level so it came with slightly higher price but midrange options are available. Definitely good value for money. Highly recommendable.

Great safari company with outstanding know-how!
5/5

After the corona virus crashed our plans at first, we finally arrived in the southern part of Tanzania in September 2021. We traveled from Dar es Salaam via Nyerere NP, Mikumi NP, Udzungwa Mountains NP, Ruaha NP, Mufundi Highlands and continued to Mbeya. Sandra planned the trip very well in advance, despite many postponements and rebookings, and always responded to our wishes and ideas. The chosen accommodations were just amazing, especially in Ruaha NP with the water hole in front of our tent, which was regularly visited by herds of elephants!

During the trip we were able to reach out to Sandra and Michael at any time and felt well looked after around the clock. On-site, we were absolutely impressed by Michael's extensive knowledge about flora and fauna, the country and its people and also the history of Tanzania and the entire African continent, as well as his driving skills with the Landcruiser! Our trip was also accompanied by Dismass, who was very patient in improving our Swahili and always having a good laugh.

On our trip, we were able to take home many impressions that we had not expected. In particular, the numerous and impressive sightings of animals (including 3 leopards on 2 days including a fight against baboons or when crocodiles dissected a hippo in the Rufiji River), and the different landscapes that we saw on our many hikes from jungles to waterfalls, the Ngozi crater lake or in the Isimilia Gorge.

At this point we would also like to mention the environmental awareness and the sustainable design of the safari, which is absolutely unique at Tanzania Safari Bug - in addition to the personal care! While on other safaris, we had to dispose countless empty plastic bottles every day, we received a refillable water bottle at the beginning of the safari, which we were allowed to take home as a gift at the end - what a great souvenir! Instead of disposable lunch boxes and plastic packaging, they use metal boxes that can be washed and reused every day.

For me it was already the 6th trip to Africa, but I have never experienced such a broad knowledge as that of Michael from any guide. We had an all-round great holiday and all we can say is: keep up the good work! :-)

Perfect tour operator for your tanzanian adventure
5/5

Due to the worldwide corona lockdown we had to postpone our safari in the southern part of Tanzania from february to september in 2021. We were very happy that sandra organized the rebookings without any problems. Our tour led us from Dar es Salaam to Nyerere NP (former Selous), Mikumi NP, Udzungwa Mountains NP, Ruaha NP, Mufundi Highlands all the way to Mbeya.

We had a lot of ideas (hiking, game drives, boat tours) for our safari, and Sandra managed to fulfill all our expectations in one trip. She was very patient and booked lovely accommodations, either direct next to a waterhole, a river or a forest. It's indescribable to fall asleep and wake up while the lions are roaring, the birds chirping and hyenas laughing.

Michael and our co-driver Dismass shared their never-ending knowledge about the country, animals, nature, plants and everything that came by, with us. We have been on various safaris before with other tour operators, but this time it was very special and educating, the personal support absolutely outstanding and we'll never forget the great time we spent in the southern part of Tanzania.

A lifetime experience!
5/5

We did a private guided safari and your in August 2021, it was awesome! Our guides Gerald and Dismass were great and took us to amazing places. We visited Tarangire, Serengeti and Ngorongoro.
We saw all the animals and it was very educating, they both were very knowledgeable and explained everything we wanted. Hotels and lounges were awesome too. Not even one glitch.
All round perfect experience.

100% recommendation - an incredible experience
5/5

Sandra and Michael planned a wonderful trip for us. We were on the road for 10 days (Tarangire NP, Serengeti, Ndutu Region, Ngorongoro Crater). Even before the trip started, we felt personally cared about. All our wishes were taken into account and our emails were always answered promptly.

Thanks to Innocent – our guide, we also witnessed a lion hunt up close. We took the time to watch the lion eat their prey and take photos from a very good position. No animal could escape his trained eye. He immediately recognized my love for cats – especially lions and within one day we saw a total of 32 lions. We also saw some cheetahs, leopards, a serval cat and lots of other animals. Innocent speaks a good German – there were never any communication problems. He is also an excellent driver with perfect local knowledge. To crown it all, we found 1 lioness with 4 teenagers in the Ngorongoro Crater. They were just preparing to hunt. Suddenly it started to rain heavily. There was something magical about the setting. The hunt was over, but we stayed with the lions for a long time and ate our lunch comfortably.

The travel time at the beginning of 03/2022 was perfect for us as we were able to enjoy all the animals sightings in peace. It was pleasantly sunny every day with only 2 short rains. The accommodations were phantastic – especially the camp in Serengeti. The food was excellent in every lodge, and the staff always very accommodating and helpful. Tanzania Safari Bug also cares about not to produce any plastic waste. We got metal drinking bottles that were constantly cleaned and refilled. Lunch on the way was served in metal boxes that can be re-used.

We always felt that we were in safe hands – before and during the trip. We are incredibly grateful for this experience! All in all a fantastic experience and certainly not our last trip to Tanzania with Tanzania Safari Bug Ltd. Sandra & Michael, we can recommend you 100% (and of course Innocent too).

Professional, reliable and skilled
5/5

The best part was the personal touch and service. We got a ready programme with both game drives and lodge stay, and when we wanted to change the dates of the safari they could help us with that as well. They did everything to make our trip comfortable and exciting. I especially have to give it up to the guide, Dismass, because he gave us the best safari experience we've ever had. He could give us fun facts about the animals along the way, he had even brought a book with all the species which we could come to see on the safari. For our next safri adventure we will for sure choose Safari Bug again.

Incredible Safari
5/5

We too have been able to enjoy a safari through the National Parks of Northern Tanzania. The nature, the wildlife, the accommodations – everything was a dream and so much more varied than I had expected. I am glad we took the time to visit four National Parks (Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro). Everywhere the safari experience was different, and Michael got the best out of it. He is a super pleasant and friendly guide, knows a lot, and through him we got a better understanding of wildlife, nature and the people who live there. You don’t think about some connections at home…
Luckily he is also an “agile” guide with a wealth of ideas. When we got stuck once, I thought “well, we will stay here for the night”. With the help of another vehicle and a few ticks – all while being watched by a tired lion – we continued after a while

Great safari off the beaten track
5/5

First of all: we had a really great and unforgettable safari with Michael and Dismass! We were absolutely blown away and will never forget our incredible adventures in the southern part of Tanzania. There was not a single question that was not answered. Michael knew not only the hard facts (animal type, special characteristics, …), but most importantly managed to highlight in an honest and critical manner the importance of nature and wildlife conservation. In all our trips to Africa we have never met anyone who has such a clear view of this world-shattering topic!

After we had to postpone our trip due to the Coronavirus, we finally started our tour from Dar es Salaam via Nyerere NP, Mikumi NP, Udzungwa Mountains NP, Ruaha NP and Mufundi Highlands to Mbeya in September 2021.
We met Sandra on one of the customers trade shows. She was very patient when preparing our trip and advised us in every detail – especially with the daily changing travel requirements. We stayed in contact during the entire trip and the support was perfect at all times – every time we had a question, Sandra & Michael would respond quickly, which made us feel very comfortable!

We got to see so many things, which we never expected to see in Tanzania. Besides all the Game Drives where Michael showed us so many animals like Leopards (three times in two days!), lions, giraffes, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, …, we went hiking four times. We really enjoyed the hikes, even if it was quite challenging sometimes – it was absolutely worth the effort! We had amazing views from the top of the Sanje Waterfalls and the Ngozi Crater; took an impressive and spectacular walk around the Isimilia Gorge; and had so much fun while enjoying a bath in the Kimani Waterfalls in Kipengere Nature Reserve.

The accommodations along the way were fantastic – especially the tented camps. It was very nice to wake up to the birds singing and being surrounded by wildlife at night which we heard while lying in our beds.

We also wanted to highlight that Tanzania Safari Bug takes sustainability very serious and works very hard to reduce their waste in the bush – a topic that has become even more important these days! At the beginning of our trip we were given refillable metal water bottles and water was provided through large water containers, which are returned after the trip to the industry for re-usage – a great way to reduce plastic! Further, instead of picnic lunch boxes (with lots of plastic), lunch was provided in special “picnic humpers” with hot food in reusable containers. And not to forgot Michael’s hot coffee – very tasty!

Thank you, Sandra and Michael, for your remarkable knowledge on animals, nature, culture and history, for guiding us to beautiful, remote places and all the interesting conversations during our safari! We wish you all the best and hope to see you again on our next trip – maybe to Lake Tanganyika.

Fantastic Safari in the Serengeti with Great Migration
5/5

Went on an exceptional safari to the Serengeti with Tanzania Safari Bug. From the organization of the trip, to the camps and the game drives, everything was just flawless! Sandra organized the trip perfectly and the accommodation upon arrival in Arusha was excellent – we would have like to stay there longer. After two days we started with our guide Michael. We could have not wished for a better one! Due to his knowledge of the landscape and the animals on our 5 day trip, we were able to experience three times a river crossing (hundreds of wildebeest crossing the Mara River). Instinctively, Michael found the best spots at the right time to make this safari an unforgettable experience for us! We also witnessed large prides of lions with baby cubs up close, saw lots of elephants and many other animals – thanks to Michael. Since this was already our fourth safari (before with other tour operators), we can really recommend Tanzania Safari Bug. The organization, the support and the handling were perfect.
