Amazing experience
5/5

I finished off my 2 week volunteer dental nursing trip to Uganda with a 2 day safari with Birchill expeditions. My guide Peter was a wealth of knowledge & an experienced guide. He turned up promptly at 7am, we had an 8 hour drive to Queen Elizabeth national Park but the time flew as we chatted so much. I had a 2 hour cruise on the Kazinga channel where I saw Elephants Hippos Buffalos Crocodiles Monkeys etc and then stayed at a beautiful lodge overnight for a very early start for a game driving in the park, Peter was amazing at spotting animals, I felt so safe and comfortable at all times being a lone traveler. So I would highly recommend Birchill expeditions for any of their safari or tours.

Incredible service, unforgettable trip
5/5

I HIGHLY recommend Birchill Expeditions. These were the least expensive trekking company I could find - about $1100 for my own personal gorilla trek in Uganda (including permits) - without compromising on service at all.

From the start, the Birchill staff was extremely responsive to all of my messages. My guide, Hassan, showed up prompt and on-time and was great - very easy to talk to and friendly, but also didn’t mind giving me space to just zone out and listen to music. I was traveling solo and safety was a priority for me; I always felt safe with Hassan and comfortable being by myself!

The hotels that Birchill put me up in were wonderful, with excellent food and service - especially the lodge near Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which was so cute and even gave me a robe and slippers. I cannot speak more highly of them! Birchill was so easy to work with from start-to-finish.

1 Day Gorilla Trekking Uganda - Awesome!
5/5

What an amazing experience! Eddie picked me up early from Rwanda and we travelled to Bwindi National Park in Uganda to see the Gorillas. He was a friendly and helpful guide who was very attentive when driving. Eddie was very informative, showing great enthusiasm and knowledge of Uganda. He was keen to stop and take photos and made it a fabulous experience! I did the short trek and found the mountain Gorillas after only 20 minutes. I was relieved as the terrain was very steep and the ground was unstable in areas, slippery with foliage and there had been no rain in a month. Our group saw 3 Gorillas. A Silverback, mother and it’s baby. Sat within 2 meters of the large Silverback and it was just majestic to be so close!! Highly recommend Birchall Expeditions for any tour needs.

Amazing experience!

Birchill is an organization where you are certainly in good hands as a foreign tourists.
After my booking I have had regular contact with Eddie and Laura.
Via WhatsApp this is very quick and easy.
On the day of the trip I was picked up in Entebbe by them personally and by their guide Peter.

Then I completed the program with Peter including game drives in the Queen Elizabeth NP, chimp tracking and gorilla tracking.
Every part in Uganda exceeded my expectations thanks to Peter as a great guide and driver.
I can therefore heartily recommend Birchill to take this or other tours.

Eddy is a Patient, Easy Going, Super Knowledgeable, and a Great Driver
5/5

I went to Uganda as a solo female traveller from Ireland in April 2024.

Eddy picked me up directly from the airport and was with me throughout the whole experience.

I did the gorrilas, chimps and a community tour. All of which I highly recommend. Don’t miss the community tour I learned so much about local traditions and businesses and even got to meet a traditional healer which was a real once in a lifetime experience.

The trip is excellent value when you consider the cost of the permits which go into conservation and to be honest still great value. When you go to the parks and meet the rangers and guides, they are all so well educated and trained and the animals are so well looked after it’s the only way we can contribute to the great work they are doing.

The food, and accommodation were way beyond my expectations. I highly recommend going local. I never got sick, the quality of the food and fresh fruit and juice etc is so high I actually think I’ve added years to my life as a result of this trip.

Uganda is a hidden treasure, everyone is so nice, the land is so green and fertile. I’ve travelled to African countries before and been on safari, but Uganda was truly unique, the African jungle and its abundance of primates is truly magical.

I never felt unsafe at any stage, nobody bothered me and I didn’t lose any possessions or have any issues. Uganda is definitely a place that a female solo traveller can go and feel comfortable.

An Amazing Adventure in Uganda.
5/5

Eddie, at Birchill Expeditions, provided me, as a solo traveler, with an amazing experience for 4 days in Uganda. He set me up for gorilla and chimp trekking (get yourself in shape before gorilla trekking) and arranged/provided land and water safaris. His choices for rest/relaxation at the end of each day were well chosen. Uganda is a special place and Eddie organized it all to perfection, many thanks!

Good prices and good services!! The exchange of information is very fluid; Eddie responded quickly and answered all my questions, which is why I chose to do the Gorilla trekking with Birchill Expeditions. The guide and driver assigned to me was very attentive and punctual, always willing to help me. The safari went according to plan, but the experience of meeting the gorillas is extraordinary, very exciting. I am recommending my friends to do this safari

Well organized, excellent experience
5/5

They took care of everything very professionally and when I had some personal preferences they were very considerate. Everything on the itinerary was fully executed. They also went out of their way to help me get to my next destination which wasn't even part of the tour.

And on the Bwindi gorilla trekking, we saw so many gorillas upclose, it was just once in a lifetime experience.
