Not a trustworthy provider, better pick one of the many others.

I booked a one-day trip to Ngorongoro Crater with Erastus and we agreed that we would meet the day before to make the payment. We met and Erastus told me that he might not be able to arrange the trip for me because other guests had changed their plans. However, he personally, sitting in front of me, promised to make it work and told me not to worry about it.

The same day, at 8 pm, he informed me that I could not do the safari the next day (NB: I had only come to Arusha for one day to do exactly this safari). Despite me calling a bunch of other operators, it was too late to find an alternative for the next day. I ended up not being able to do the safari that I had come for.

Don't trust Erastus. My whole trip to Arusha was useless because he promised things he couldn't keep.

Hello Florian
Greetings
I hope this review finds you well the purpose of writing this is that other
clients who you were going to join doing two days safari that is Tarangire
and Ngorongoro crater so they advised themselves without involving me then
they told me on the day of the trip to start with Tarangire national
park on that day of Ngorongoro crater therefore you could not do the trip
because the day he wanted to do trip in Ngorongoro is differ with others
colleagues the day makes the trip overlapped one day and this was out of our ability because its joining group and you wanted day trip its not our fault as you have written review so for our side we always prefer to say sorry for all.
Thanks
Best Regards
Mafie Adventures.

Nice safari, but the overall interaction with the company was terrible.

The safari was a great experience, however, the experience outside of that was horrendous. The tour operator that we dealt with was very inconsistent and unreliable, not keeping agreements that were made prior to travelling to Arusha. Following from that, there were certain shady behaviours that were displayed throughout the experience, such as never confirming transfers post-safari, demanding cash the night prior to the safari (rather than at the beginning of the safari - as agreed upon), intimidating us on the way to the airport, asking for a sum of cash for the transfer to the airport, even though it was agreed that this sum was apart of the lump value we paid prior to the safari. All these actions left a blight on what was a great safari, so if you can go with a better operator I would highly recommend that for a bit of peace of mind that it may go a bit smoother.

Be careful of this company!

I would urge HIGH LEVEL of CAUTION interacting with the main point of contact, Erastus.

He was incredibly evasive when trying to get information regarding the tour from him, and did not provide any details of the itinerary at any point.

We had agreed to pay the remainder of the deposit at the start of our safari. However, within minutes of us arriving at our hotel the day before the safari, he sent someone to demand we pay the remainder of the deposit... very suspicious on how he would know where we were staying! As this information wasn't provided to him yet.

I had organised drop off at the airport with him for 40USD. On the last day, no one, whether that be Erastus or the driver told us how we would get to the airport. At one point, Erastus said we will get picked up by the clock tower in Arusha.... no one (including the driver) knew where the clock tower was. Eventually, a fellow traveler told us that we were getting dropped off at his hotel.
At this point, Erastus appears out of nowhere and says he will accompany us to the airport with the driver. Throughout this whole time, he was trying to intimidate us and eventually forced us to pay him 50USD for the trip.

I would highly recommend you consider another operator than mafie adventures.

Dear Sean
Thank you for your review about my company
Apologize! i think you remember about what we agree about rest of payment that you will pay on arrival but not on pick up first remember that pick up was 5am where is much early to meet you even if you need lady from my office to meet you this was real unsafety for women and we cant give you a service without full payment because all park fees must pay before inter to the parks so we cant borrow tour to client and pay later because of Fees Accommodation food and transport during safari you should pay everything before safari and not after safari so it was not demand you do you think is fare to provide service without payment?

* Kindly before arrive in where you staying we have already communicate and give me the name of lodge you staying.

When you arrive to Kilimanjaro airport you can see sign about transport from kia to Arusha is 50$ but not more or less so if you paid 50$ was fare for transport we didn't charge you more than these amount so stop complain about.
