An incredible first trip to Africa - we'll be back!
5/5

Our trip was organised in such a short amount of time, and upon sending out a few emails to various companies, Rose was the first to reply. She was always so helpful with answering emails and responding to requests, and gave us a truly incredible safari experience in Kenya. Rose really understood what my father and I were looking for from the trip, and took into account specific things like budget and dates to help us get the most out of it. We ended up staying for 3 nights in the gorgeous Encounter Mara camp in Naboisho Conservancy, and then had an additional 2 nights at the luxurious Richard's River Camp, in Olare Orok Conservancy. Rose organised all of our internal flights to and from the Maasai Mara (we had already booked our international ones, although I'm positive she could have helped with those too!) and on our final day coming back from the Mara had arranged a wonderful day visiting the Giraffe Sanctuary, the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, and the Karen Blixen Museum - so we definitely got the most out of our time in Kenya. Rose was such a good contact - she was incredibly knowledgable, and did her best to keep me informed about everything we needed to know. I would not hesitate to use The Luxury Safari Company again.

The best African experience of our lives.
5/5

We used Rose to book our African Safari and she advised us superbly after listening to what we wanted to do/ see. We went to 3 different venues in Zambia and they were all superb. It involved a huge amount of travelling which was all excellent except 1 journey but the choice of camps that we visited were spot on and exactly what we asked for.
We ended up seeing a crocodile attack lions crossing the Zambezi, 2 male leopards having a territorial fight, a pride of 7 lions killing and eating an Impala, 2 mature male lions with a Buffalo kill, a female leopard and her 2 Cubs with an Impala kill being dragged up a tree and the defending versus another female leopard,a hyena and a troop of baboons. Plus of course a million Elephants, hippo's, Impala, water Buck etc
We would strongly recommend the Luxury Safari company to anyone.

5/5

Thank you Rose for organising such a lovely family holiday!! Two kids aged 5 and 7, my husband and myself enjoyed everything! Our driver who was with us throughout our safari, Felix, was superb! We saw all the big 5, expect the rhino
Saw lions in the tree and even saw a lioness attacking a zebra!!! It was like national geographic but actually being there.
Rose made our whole itenary so well that we had to do nothing but enjoy ourselves!!! Even the airport pick ups and transfers were on time and wonderful
Thank you Rose once again and I cannot wait to go again!!!

Truly magical, surreal & unforgettable first safari experience!
5/5

When the opportunity came up to go to Kenya for a friend's wedding, my husband and I knew we wanted to tack on a safari to our adventure. We went on the Offbeat Safari experience through The Luxury Safari Company and it was a real treat. The camp was small and intimate, eco-friendly, relaxing and run by a lovely local couple and their team. We made our own schedule each day. The food was great and re-counting our tales with other travelers over dinner each night was a highlight. We saw pretty much everything you'd hope to see on our 3 days there except a cheetah. We saw two endangered black rhinos and leopards twice, a crossing of elephant families, plenty of zebras, wildebeest, hippos, crocs, vultures, gazelles, giraffes, ostriches, male lions and lionesses their cubs, hyenas eating their kill and loads more. We also visited a Masaai village. Everything was extremely well-organized. An incredible travel experience all around and a great option for a first safari!

Fantastically organised, very special holiday
5/5

We have just returned from an incredible honeymoon fantastically organised by Rose. With very little direction from us she created an amazing holiday and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We started off in Sand Rivers in Selous which is an incredible camp surrounded by hippos. We were very lucky to follow a leopard for nearly 2 hrs on one of our drives and even managed some fishing. We then went on to Kigelia in Ruaha which offered great game viewing and a really remote camp with elephants right outside our tent. It was then onto Pemba Island for a very relaxing week in Fundu Lagoon. Having spoken to other campers we realised that not only did Rose do a fantastic job finding us beautiful places to go to she also arranged the most direct flights with the shortest transfers available. We cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you Rose!

Unforgettable second Honeymoon!
5/5

Upon contacting Rose we were not sure what we really wanted - other than a fabulous adventure at luxury level. From the very beginning she helped us create a unique itinerary, never minding that I wanted to change the dates/hotel/location on almost a daily basis!
We have just returned from 2.5weeks in Zambia and Mozambique - the whole trip was wonderful. There was a lot of travel involved and each journey was seamless - she provided us with itinerary sheets so we always knew where we were going and were always met at each destination by a friendly guide/representative.
We wanted variety, and we certainly got that - we felt we experienced so many different sides of Africa in the short time we were there.
The great thing about Rose is she really listens - she don'ts just try and sell you a pre-made package - she really wants to understand what you as the customer want to get out of your trip - and that is the difference between her and any other travel agent! She is on call 24hrs and replies instantly to every email.
I have already recommended her to a friend who is about to propose to his girlfriend saying he MUST get her to arrange the honeymoon!

Another amazing adventure!
5/5

Rose certainly came up trumps again with another exciting itinerary in South Africa. This was our second trip organised by The Luxury Safari Company Ltd and won't be the last.

We returned to to the Sabi Sand Private Reserve and stayed at Chitwa Chitwa, where we loved being so close to the resident snorting hippos on the lake. The elephants came to have a splash around in the lake one afternoon and they put on a great show. Buffalo and water buck also frequented the banks of the lake, as well as a crocodile and a variety of birds. We had some excellent viewings, including two leopard brothers, one up a tree crunching on an impala, whilst his sibling waited patiently below for his turn. Then we explored a different part of the country, Kwa Zulu Natal. What a beautiful and diverse area! We had a stay at the Oyster Box in Durban, a charming old colonial style hotel. Then we headed to off to the Drakensberg mountains to stay in the Midlands at the very scenic Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse. The food there is excellent, but you will pile on the pounds. There are plenty of walking opportunities on your doorstep though to walk off those calories. If you are interested in the Anglo Zulu war, then Fugitive's Drift is the place to stay. We had no real interest, but took part in the organised trips to Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift. You could not fail to be touched by the expertly related stories, although it was a little too detailed and lengthy for us! Then we drove to an idyllic beach retreat in a very remote area. Thonga Beach Lodge was very civilised, but so far away from civilisation. Total relaxation, a pristine beach you can walk along for miles and miles, and extremely warm and friendly staff from the local village. We were invited to church in the village and we spent an unforgettable afternoon with the Mabibi people who really touched our hearts and brought us to tears with their melodic singing harmonies. We left Thonga with a tear in our eye. Then finally, we enjoyed a second safari at Phinda Forest Lodge. As well as the big five, we saw lots of cheetahs and fluffy young cubs - such beautiful creatures. We also watched the lions and their cubs eating a variety of kills, which we have never seen before, and although a bit gory, it was strangely excellent viewing! We even saw the elusive aardvark one evening which is a real privilege!

We returned home feeling like we had really seen a slice of the real Africa. We drove through varied landscapes, met some lovely Zulu people and lots of other interesting people along the way. Thanks Rose for organising another brilliant and unforgettable trip!

Great trip to Tanzania with the Luxury Safari Company
5/5

We have just returned from a safari holiday in Tanzania that was organised by the Luxury Safari Company. We had a great time - Tanzania is an amazing country with so much wildlife, stunning landscapes and friendly people.

Rose was great to talk to whilst we were deciding where we wanted to go and the itinerary was exactly what we wanted. Rose took care of all the arrangements for all aspects of our travels and everything went smoothly from receiving the documents beforehand, to being collected by drivers and from staying in the various camps, to our numerous internal flights.

Little touches like receiving an e mail from Rose prior to our departure and a message on our return home made us feel that the Luxury Safari Company were concerned about us enjoying our trip rather than us being just another booking.

All in all we had a really memorable trip and we would recommend the Luxury Safari Company to others who are considering this kind of holiday.

If only there was a 6th star
5/5

I have traveled to over 60 countries and all over the world, managing my traveling almost entirely independent of a travel agency, but dealing with Rose at the Luxury Safari Company for my Africa trip was such a significant improvement to my travel experiences that i have completely changed how i view booking trips going forward. She was completely in tune with my needs (an innate skill), all on a short term booking basis, handled every little detail, and even dealt with issues as they arose during my trip. Staying at Little Medikwe was a memory i will never forget. The Residence in Johannesburg was top 3 best service of any hotel i have ever stayed at, and a completely unique hotel concept. Stanley Safari Lodge in Zambia (Vic Falls) was also unique in that you have one of the four walls in your room exposed to the elements, listening to lion roars instead of counting sheep to sleep at night. Even when i wanted to do something that she didnt have a pre-existing relationship with a company to service me, Rose took the initiative to work with an outside company of my choosing and deal with rescheduling and other issues that popped up with that company. This is the mark of a truly motivated and caring agency. If there was a sixth star i would gladly give it to the Luxury Safari Company.

First time Safari - Luxury and Lions
5/5

We recently stayed at Shamwari Bayethe Lodge on our first ever safari and absolutely loved it. We went there on a recommendation from The Luxury Safari Company as a must do after our Cape Town and Garden Route tour and wanted to mention Bayethe especially since I was 5 months pregnant and all the staff and our guide were very accommodating, always driving carefully on game drives. The lodge itself is beautiful (we didn't realise that's what a luxury safari was all about!!) and we saw some fantastic wildlife including all the big cats.

Seeing the Born Free Foundation headquarters was also a big draw for us and it proved to be as interesting as we originally thought. We went twice during our four night stay and found their work truly inspirational. We're hooked on safaris now and can't wait to go back, although probably won't be for a few years now!

Next time we go on Safari it will inevitably be with children, and I will be contacting Rose at the Luxury Safari Company again to make our travel arrangements... she thinks of everything so I know I will be in safe hands!
