Amazing Africa!
5/5

Just got home from our amazing trip to Zambia (safari) and Mauritius (beach). Rose's organisation was absolutely spot on, all airport pick-ups and meets ran like clockwork and completely stress free. On arrival at Mfuwe in Zambia we had an exciting night bush drive to the Chindeni camp, a surreal experience when you have been travelling for nearly 20 or so hours; porcupines and a staring contest with an eagle owl sitting on the track were highlights, the owl won! Chindeni Camp is glorious and waking up at 5.45am to a stunning sunrise was a real treat and a special start to our morning walking safaris after a delicious breakfast. The hippos laughing (ho ho ho ho) day and night in the lagoon is a sound we will remember forever, also the lone bull elephant scoffing Nile Cabbage. Walking safari and night drives were fantastic (fortified by sundowners of course) and we learnt so much from our guides about the flora and fauna. Food in the camp was delicious and accommodation very comfortable indeed. Our second camp was Tena Tena, further north after travelling via Mfuwe Lodge where Amy offered us a fortifying breakfast since we were up at silly-o-clock in the morning! Our Tena Tena hostess, Christa, was charming and we were overjoyed to have several sightings of leopard, just as Rose had predicted. Also a memorable drive to a stork colony where on the way we watched two young lions enjoying the morning sun and eyeing up a herd of puku. Again, we were looked after so well and everything was comfortable and yes, we fell in love with this Africa. We were also delighted that the camps help the local economy too. So much to report I could write forever. Our last week was a beach holiday in Mauritius at the Zilwa Attitude. The hotel was fantastic and the staff so welcoming. Sadly the weather was not so good and our excursions to the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden and Catamaran trip were spoilt by rain and grey skies....of course this is not the fault of the lovely hosts or the Luxury Safari Company at all, after all it is winter! However we have to agree that the safari element was outstanding and truly an experience to treasure and we will (I hope) be doing this again in Zambia.......maybe with Malawi in the equation somewhere, for the "water" experience. Thank you to Rose for everything it was EPIC! Highly recommended. Now I must start organising my photographs, I may be some time!

Brilliant Safari and Gorilla Trek
5/5

I decided to organise a once in a lifetime trip of safari plus trekking with the Gorillas in Rwanda. Having come across The Luxury Safari Company online, I got in touch, and was immediately contacted. From beginning to end Rose and her team were very professional and responsive, and were able to put together a superb package very quickly, with minimum fuss. Any problems (which were few) that we encountered were swiftly and expertly dealt with. From start to finish this was a magnificent and unique experience, and that is down to The Luxury Safari Company.

Excellent service and trip, throughout.
5/5

Absolutely top class service from Rose. Immediate response to any e-mails, no matter how small an issue. Brilliant tailoring of our itinerary to suit our needs. Will not hesitate to contact Rose again to organise more African trips.

The level of accomodation we received was top class. As it was our honeymoon we received a number of extras which were all appreciated.

Overall, a thoroughly recomended company. Will use again!

Kenya safari
5/5

The trip Rose arranged for us was magical and life changing. What started off as an idea I had for one property evolved with her help into 5 nights in Samburu, 5 nights in Mara and 4 nights in Msambweni. Communication with Rose was always so easy! She responded quickly with all the information that I needed. When I made the decision while in the Mara to change the itinerary a bit, Rose handled it efficiently: Camps were notified, flights were changed and it all happened like magic! She arranged for my son's birthday to be celebrated in both of the locations that we were in on his birthday! Also, we have very specific dietary needs and Rose made sure every camp had been notified and we were cared for beautifully! The entire trip was so seamless and we felt so special the whole time - all thanks to Rose and the wonderful people she works with in Kenya. I'm getting ready to have Rose help me plan my next trip to Africa!!!

Tanzania Safari and Zanzibar Beach
5/5

We spent a fabulous two weeks on safari and at the beach in Tanzania. Having traveled in southern Africa before, I knew how important it was to have someone coordinate your visit who could arrange for great accommodations, excellent guides, seamless transfers, and interesting but feasible itineraries. Rose did all four things perfectly. She advised on the lodges/camps that would be best for our needs, and -- most importantly -- all of the details of the trip went off without a hitch. Our guide was superb (friendly and knowledgeable), and the lodges and camps were luxurious but also gave us a real glimpse at the community and natural surroundings. Fantastic all around, would absolutely use her again!

A perfect honeymoon
5/5

My husband and I booked our honeymoon through the Luxury Safari Company and they were brilliant from start to finish. Communication was always prompt and informative, and from the beginning we felt that we were in very safe hands. We spent two nights at Victoria Falls, before spending six nights in Botswana, first at Savuti Safari Lodge and then at Xudum Lodge in the Okavango Delta. The game viewing was great, accommodation very comfortable, and the transfers were seamless. We had a brilliant time and only wish we could do it all again!

Honeymoon to Rwanda and Tanzania
5/5

I would highly recommend Rose and her team- the whole experience was seamless from start to finish. Rose replied within minutes of every communication I sent and answered all my many, many questions on our trip. We decided to do a safari in both Rwanda (gorilla trekking) and the Serengeti (both Western Corridor and Lamai region) plus then travel on to 3 different Zanzibar destinations, beach plus Stone Town. Logistically we would not have been able to do this without The Luxury Safari Company. All of the transfers were on time and the guides were all individually brilliant- friendly, knowledgable and kind. Rwanda is a beautiful country which I miss already. The Serengeti is better than the pictures and we caught The Great Migration in full swing with river crossings at the Mara river. Thank you for the honeymoon of our dreams.

Family trip to Tanzania & Zanzibar
5/5

The start of our trip was less than ideal. Our initial flight from Heathrow to Nairobi was cancelled which meant we missed connecting flights to Dar Es Salaam and Selous. Rose was brilliant in helping us sort everything out and didn't seem to mind what time of day it was when we called! We felt she really cared that we had the best possible holiday. She did a great job recommending safari camps suitable for all ages of our family from age 10 upwards. Siwandu camp in Selous was fabulous, as was Jongomereo in Ruaha. In Zanzibar, hotel Baraza was perfect for chilling out and doing very little following a hectic safari schedule. We would not hesitate to recommend Rose and her team.

Father and son trip to Botswana and Zambia
5/5

I first contacted The Luxury Safari Company through their website asking for ideas as to what I could do for a week with my son who wanted to quad bike and whitewater raft. Rose Hipwood came back almost immediately and quickly put together an itinerary that way exceeded my expectations. From the VIP greeting at Johannesburg airport ( which helped enormously to get through the early morning queues) to the tour of Soweto hours before departing for home, I don't think more could have been included. It is hard to pick out just one or two things as highlights - everything was excellent - the meerkat experience, quad biking on the salt pans of Botswana, all four safaries in the Okavango Delta, whitewater rafting on the Zambezi and the spectacular Victoria Falls. Camp Kalahari, Machaba Camp and Sindabezi Island were all outstanding - the accomodation itself was excellent, the staff at each camp could not have been more welcoming and helpful and the food was top quality. Am still recovering from seeing my son bungee jump off the bridge at Victoria Falls. Every aspect of the trip was perfectly planned and executed - hard to imagine a better trip. Thank you Rose.

Overall this holiday exceeded our expectations.
5/5

The Serengeti camp was a wonderful experience even with bucket showers. ( which were actually amazing). Highlights were afternoon teas and the amazing breakfasts....
The safari itself was unsurpassed. We saw the big five on the first day and I wondered how we would fill the next three days... But I needn't have worried....lions hunting, cheetahs with a kill... The list was endless.

Transfer day was terrible. Coastal added in three unscheduled stops so we had a turbulent 12 hour day with 6 take offs and landings....we were powerless to do anything about this and the experience was awful.

However Fanjove Island quickly soothed us. Snorkelling was fabulous....Good diving and the boys loved the kayaking and paddle boarding...we were very sad to have to return to the real world.
