Genuine people on a genuine trip!
Well if you don't appreciate Afrikaan home cooked meals on a campfire everyday, kudu steaks and quartered corn with mayo smoked and baked on a camp fire iron oven accompanied by creamy from scratch mushroom balsamic sauces or slightly burnt Afrikaan Malva pudding. Or the genuine threat of hippos rummaging through the camp at night and staying 6 feet away from the rivers edge due to possible death by crocodile. Or the lack of mobile reception and being just left with clear dark skies lit by moonlight and the milky way with elephants passing by on its way to the water hole. Then this type of hospitality and trip just isn't for you. Stay in your apartment. But as for me, I found it a difficult adjustment back to real city life. Those 13 days of joking around a camp fire, having Afrikaan food and Afrikaan company, and the ceaseless groan of hippos near by ruined me. Might just need another Adam's family adventure soon to get my Natural High back......sigh....sigh....
