Amazing experience
We were a group of six italian people who wanted to do a Safari in Tanzania. George was always available with us during the time we had to schedule our Safari experience and he has satisfied all our needs, regarding both the tour itself and the accomodations (Osinon Camp and lodges was really great!).
We visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire and the experience was amazing, also due to the guide who stayed with us for four day: Dallas. He was really the best guide we could ask for and managed to satisfy all our requests as well. We would recommend both George and Dallas for a perfect stay in Tanzania.

Professional, organised, knowledgable and friendly’
From the first communication till we were dropped off at the airport for our departure flights, we had an unforgettable experience!! George met all our requirements and Dallas, our guide, was outstanding. We visited the most beautiful places, slept in comfortable beds, ate like kings and queens and experienced everything we imagined and more. A bucketlist adventure came true because of them.

The safari of a lifetime
We just came back from a spectacular 12-day safari through Kenya and Tanzania. I traveled in a group of 5 people, 3 of whom are serious photographers (not me). Our loop started and ended in Nairobi, and visited 8 national parks: Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Arusha, and Amboseli. George Killas took care of every detail and customized the itinerary for us. The accommodations were all great — especially our two camps inside Serengeti which were peak charm and luxury. George was very flexible, accommodating, and quick to respond to all my last-minute requests. Our excellent tour guides, MacDonald, Anthony, and Joel were the best. They were pivotal to our prolific game-spotting and fun times. Also, major shoutout to Terrain’s own private chef Dube, who cooked the most amazing meals.
We came out of this trip with our hearts and SD cards so full, with enough memories and photos to enjoy for a lifetime. We got to see every animal we wanted to see, and more. We saw the big 9 megafauna (including the elusive white and black rhinos and leopard) many times over, and all kinds of smaller mammals, birds, and reptiles. My list of animals spotted is over 90 species long! Most notably, we got to enjoy animals in different social situations: a trio of baby elephants wrestling each other, a sisterhood of mother lions rounding up their 10 cubs, a pair of childless brother lions roaming the plain with their harems, a pair of hyenas scouting out our tentgrounds at night with a side of playtime, a mother cheetah successfully chasing and catching a gazelle while her precocious 5 cubs reunite with her for the feast.
I highly recommend booking your safaris with George!

A Road never traveled twice
Our Travels with Terrain Tanzania Safaris.
Our 14 days in Africia was sensational and went seamlessly. From the welcoming pickup from the airport to our beautiful hotel. Well after long flight, we landed in Nairobi, Africia and a Terrain Tanzania Safari driver (Oscar 2) picked us up and we travel into the city to our hotel (Boma Hotel) for a relaxing day as we landed early morning. I will discuss the hotel near the end. Next morning our Terrain Tanzania Safari driver (Joy) came early morning. Fascinating road trip out of the city into the country. The first stop was a little tourist place which as first time there we paid a high prices. After this we learned hard to barter and stick to lower pricing.
Moving along across the country to Lake Naivasha we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Dove Nest Lodge, we were greeted with smiles and open arms. We got to our room and then ate lunch. Of a particular note, the food at Dove Nest Lodge was impeccable, fresh and dinner was the same that night. We are sure Joy was having a short nap before taking us to the lake for a boat tour for a few hours on Lake Naivasha. The captain was great and knew his stuff. Things got a little wet as the skies opened on us and the captain had umbrellas and found a spot out of the wind with the boat. We were asked many times if we wanted to head in but, being so excited to be there, we said no as it was not cold. Back to the lodge for a relaxing evening and dinner. The wheels are moving as we are off to Maasai Mara (Kenya) for two days. Joy followed Cheetahs and we got to see a kill. The AA Lodge Mara was very nice and packed lunches and dinners were great.
Then our journey along bumpy, dusty roads we travel across Kenya, to Tanzania border. This is where we met Oscar 1 who will be our Terrain Tanzania Safari guide. Oscar 1 was so friendly and open about discussing his experiences.
The most important thing for us to tell you is we had a fabulous time with Oscar 1 exploring Lake Victoria on a boat, with a nice sleep at the Serenity at the Lake and dinner, then the big one, two days in Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater. We were told that Serengeti National Park is bigger than Alberta, Canada. Full of excitement we were off to the Fishing Village and little boat tour. Watching then sell fish was crazy. One woman wanted me for husband. I am sure she would make a good wife as she bought the biggest fish there. Then it was back to the camp, and we saw a loin kill feasting about three miles away from our camp. Funny after seeing loins feasting on a water buffalo 3 miles away, they insisted on escort to tents after darkness and told us to made sure zipper is shut so animals don’t crawl in with you. I slept well as I knew the loins were fed and I am sure that zipper is going to hold them out.
After two days there and many photos we took off to the Ngorongoro Cater where it is amazing to see this mass volcano heart that once was active. Now it is huge grazing, and these animals do not join migration as everything is here for them. There is so much more to share but I would need a few more pages. The hotel Boma Inn BB was comfortable for us and the food outstanding. At the end of the trip we had three nights’ stay to just relax and visit a firehall to give some stuff from fire fighters here my children. The GM of the hotel kept us in an eye for service as a very busy place. The head chef always came out and offered us soup or salad for the buffet. No charge and even opened early to feed us before we went on our last safari in Nairobi.
What made the entire journey so easily enjoyable were the daily itineraries and guides and the overall organization and attention to detail. George the owner of Terrain Tanzania Safaris and his team kept us on budget, fed us well and were fun. If you ever need someone to trust it is George and his team. Thank you George and team.

Best holiday ever!
Tanzania via safari is a bucket-list adventure for almost every traveller on the planet in my opinion – an African safari holiday has got to be one of life’s greatest adventures. Whether it’s exploring the national parks, taking game drives, discovering food and local culture, Tanzania offers a broad choice of safari experiences for every type of traveller.
Our experience of the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater was absolutely outstanding thanks to the expert guides from Terrain Tanzania Safaris. Our guide, George Killas ensured we had a premium experience thanks to his guiding skills and knowledge of the areas. Accommodation in the lodges were amazing. We witnesses a live in the moment lion stalk and kill a young buffalo which was emotional and mesmerising all at the same time. Hyenas feeding on elephant remains and cheetahs in the Serengeti was an unmatched experience! This tour provided us with everything we could have wanted (and more).
I always felt we were safe and looked after by our guides and the transportation used was good quality and reliable.

Personal service, terrific safari company!
Wonderful experience with Terrain Safaris Tanzania, its owner George Killas, and my guide Omar. I had only a couple of days at the end of a working trip to Dar Es Salaam and George organized a terrific private safari in Tarangire NP and Ngorongoro Crater - even though it was rain season (not that many safari cars around, which was a plus!) I saw many wonderful animals. I contacted about half a dozen companies and Terrain stood out because George replied to all my questions promptly and provided a lot of useful information. It's a smaller company and they make sure their clients are very well looked after -- on my last night in Arusha George even came by my accommodation to chat and make sure I was completely satisfied with the trip! Book with them, you won't regret it!

Horrible experience
We booked this company for both Kenya and Tanzania safaris, They completely spoiled our Kenya Masai Mara experience, the guide we got name called Ole spoiled our complete experience by misguiding us and when we tried to call the tour company owner George, he was not at all responsive while we were in Kenya.
They treated us well while we were in Tanzania got a very good guide name called Omar but our Kenya and Masai Mara experience was horrible.
And when we were suppose to get AA Lodge at Ambosali National park, they gave one basic room where it was not a finished room with open nails and all, the beds were not even equipped with mosquito nets and my kids were bitten by at least 50 Mosquitos on that night.
Summary: Our experience in Tanzania is ok but definitely spoiled my Kenya experience.
I recommend you to avoid this company.

Posted on Aug 1, 2023Your Masai Mara experience to me was a great one - you had a full day of game drive on day two from 8:00 to around 18:00, I remember to have spoken to you at exactly 17:47hrs and your reply was , can I call you in one hour? Still in a game drive.
The following day was a transit day and not a game drive day since you were to be at the border from 9:00Am, we have a shortcut route to get to the border but you insisted to cross through the reserve and delayed at the gate for 2hrs because our guide didn’t have these informations - yes I was not available (church) but my colleague Eric whom I gave you his contacts authorized and we paid for you to cross through the Reserve. While on transit through the reserve - it was another game drive which ended up with late arrival at the border.
Masai Mara to Serengeti NP via Isebania border we recommend clients to cross this border between 10:00hrs and 12:00hrs but you crossed the border at 15:45hrs because you insisted and extended a Game Drive in Masai Mara. I had to call and inform the incharge of Serengeti Gate on your late check-in to the Park, of course you arrived relatively late at the gate and after dark at the Camp.
On your last two days in Tanzania - I left my office work and took the responsibility to drive and guide you to Mt Kilimanjaro as part of your schedule, I wanted to find out if anything was wrong - but you seemed to be very happy.
Amboseli NP, we could not find rooms at AA both nights , I explained and we agreed to a different Camp of which you did not like, efforts were done and we moved you to AA second night. The rest of the accommodations were as per itinerary. THANKS.

Well organized, great communication, great flexibility, safe and informative
Basics:
4 people, 11 day/10 night, mid-level, Toyota Land Cruiser, private, cost=below average for same accommodations and itinerary
Itinerary:
Nairobi to Arusha, through Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Masai Mara, Lake Victoria, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, Tarangire
Tour company:
From the early stages, I worked with George Killas to build what we thought was the most ideal itinerary. He was very flexible, and patient with our many requests and questions. He was able to help meet our budget, and yet ensure we are comfortable on the trip. For anybody new to a safari, I do want to strongly encourage trying to book a guide that uses a 4x4 Land Cruiser. You will be thankful!
Because we went to both Kenya and Tanzania, we actually had two different tour guides/companies with a hand-off at the border. George handled these logistics with a partnering firm from Kenya. This can obviously have advantages and disadvantages, but it was seamless for us as the client.
Mid-level lodging was actually really great. All the places we stayed at were clean, safe, and beautiful. The two camps inside Masai Mara, and Serengeti were less luxurious (still very nice), but these are also the most expensive since they are inside the parks. The food everywhere was included, either through the hotels, or funded by Terrain Tanzania, and all of it was really good. Cold drinks were always available in the car, which was very welcome.
Both tour guides we had were very good: (Dminick in Kenya & Benjamin in Tanzania). They both listened to our requests and interests of animals we wanted to see, they adopted their itinerary, and they were knowledgeable about the animals, the culture, & the landscape. We really appreciated it when they would talk to other drivers as we drove by or use the radio to get information about where to find some of the more unique animals. We appreciated the guides making the most of our safari, by starting the day early and ending late, by searching for animals, and by visiting points of interest. These are long days for them, and they always maintained a positive and professional attitude.
Overall, our experience was amazing! We did not expect to see as many animals as we did! Of course wildlife spotting is very luck dependent, and no tour guide or tour company should ever be held responsible for your luck. That being said, we were very happy with everything that Terrain Tanzania Safaris organized. There are many companies out there, and it can be hard to compare them, but I would strongly recommend anybody to George's company.
