My advise is you avoid this company – we felt scammed
we were quoted on numerous quotations for morning safari and a boat ride. When we exchanged cash on the morning i was told the boat would be extra. If that wasn't annoying the night before our final day and morning safari, i was told it was there mistake we had no safari, and to do it we were to pay over $1200. I challenged this, with quotes which clearly stated it was
included i got no where and was told it wouldn't be happening unless i paid the money they demanded

Posted on Nov 8, 2024We arranged a "5-Day Hakuna Matata Safari" for the client at Sopa lodges, which included visits to Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, and concluded at Sopa Masai Mara. However, the reservation office at Sopa lodges requested a change to our itinerary. They suggested that we begin at Lake Nakuru, then visit Masai Mara, and finish at Lake Naivasha due to unforeseen circumstances. We communicated this proposal to the client, and they agreed to the changes.
Under the original plan, the clients were scheduled to enjoy a complimentary morning game drive on their last day at Masai Mara, as they had ample time for it. With the revised itinerary, however, we could not arrange a morning game drive because it was necessary for the clients to arrive at Lake Naivasha in time for lunch to participate in a boat ride, walking safari, and other activities.
We informed the client about the conflict between the complimentary morning game drive and their lunch schedule through our driver. Unfortunately, there seems to have been a misunderstanding regarding this communication. We are dedicated to providing excellent service, ensuring our clients receive value for their money, and helping them create unforgettable adventures.

Responsive tour operator with great local guides who helped us get the most out of our trip
We travelled in Kenya & Tanzania with Camptrek Safaris in October 24 visiting Amboseli, Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha, Serengeti, Ngorongoro crate and Taragire. The office were very responsive to our queries and we were happy with the final itinerary.
We had an amazing trip and saw lots of wildlife, most notably many elephants, but also lions, cheetahs and leopard (albeit distantly), and of course zebra, giraffes, wildebeest etc.
Our driver guides were great, especially David, who we had in Kenya, he was so friendly and helpful as well as very knowledgeable and a good driver.
The accommodations were all lovely ( we opted for mid range places) especially those in / bordering the reserves, although we did have an issue with the one (fisherman’s camp) in Lake Navaisha, where they seemed to have accepted a better booking and shipped us off to a nearby house, that we then had to picked up from to go to dinner and breakfast. However David was great in sorting everything out and rearranging our itinerary to take account of the time this wasted.
The only negative was the vehicles which were rather old ( despite Camptrek advising me when we were planning the trip they were all recently purchased) both were around 10-15 years old and suffered mechanical issues ( the Kenya vehicle had no 1st gear)
Despite this we had a fabulous time and would recommend Camptrek, and David in particular.

Posted on Nov 10, 2024Dear Sharon,
Thank you for your honest feedback on the fisherman camp! We truly value your insights and are eager to consider more lodge options in future. We're also excited to share that we're gradually updating our fleet to elevate our clients' experiences even further!

12-day trip to Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar with three guides.
We booked a 12-day trip to Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar, with three different guides. The best and most memorable one was David, our guide in Kenya. He always had this big smile on his face, whether he was with us or chatting with hotel staff. Before every game drive, he’d remind us to check for our phones and bags. On the drives, he patiently taught us how to tell males from females, left from right, and even fun slang for different animals. If you’re booking with Camptrek, David is the one to go with!
In Tanzania, we had to change one of our tent stays because of our schedule change, but the new tent was honestly not up to the mid-range level we expected.
Our guide in Zanzibar not bad, but for booking activities, just ask the hotel front desk. It’s cheaper than what the guidequoted us.

Very kind driver, we have seen lots of animals and also the Big Five except, unfortunately, the leopard.
Marvellous landscapes.

Fabulous 18 day Kenya and Tanzania safari
We chose this company due to their excellent itinerary, high quality of lodging, excellent reviews, and great value compared to other quotes we had gotten. We had 4 different guides on different parts of our tour (due to additions we made to their normal safari schedule) and had great experiences with each one (David, John, Phillip, and Francis). Our main guide was Phillip. He was awesome! Highly knowledgeable and willing to please his guests. One thing we liked about Phil was that you could tell he was as excited to see a great wildlife encounter as we were. That was very nice. He also took the time to find out what we were interested in and tailored the trip accordingly. Each lodge had its own special charm. The food was fantastic and the unlimited bottled water definitely came in handy. You could easily tell the lodges were chosen with care. Pappa John set up a fantastic trip. Each day was an adventure and almost seemed better than the last amazing day. The communication prior to the safari was top notch. Lucy was very responsive and helpful. Within 3 days of starting our safari we had already seen the big 5. Our animal encounters were out of this world. We especially enjoyed Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s elephant orphanage. What an fantastic organization. We highly recommend using this company. They are an amazing group of people that do everything to make your safari an adventure of a lifetime and it absolutely was! This safari was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and will give us memories that will last a lifetime!

the best possible value for money
The trip was amazing. Our driver was very attentive and catered to us individually, advising us on the best ways to make the most of our time. The campsite is incredible, and I wish we’d had more time to enjoy the place (we only stayed one night). We saw many animals and were just missing an elephant to complete the Big Five, but we saw several others as well. The food was impeccable.

7-day wildlife and outdoor activities safari tour
We have long wanted to visit Africa, but did not know which country to start with.
Friends who have traveled to many African countries advised us to start with a safari in the reserves of Kenya.
In order to effectively plan our safari tour, we studied a large number of offers on the Internet and chose Camptrek Safari because they offered reasonable prices, had good reviews and offered us a route and accommodation that exactly matched our request.
We prepaid 30% online and the rest in cash at the start of the trip.
We were met at the airport by a company representative, who also helped us with the online booking of our tour, and handed us over to our personal guide-driver John for the next 8 days.
Our program included visits to 4 national reserves: Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, Lake Naivasha and Amboseli with accommodation in lodges on the territory of the reserves.
John turned out to be a highly professional guide with 17 years of experience in this field of tourism. During our tour, thanks to John's efforts, we were able to find and photograph more than 50 different animals and birds. In order to take unique photographs, John demonstrated the highest professionalism in driving and courage. Thanks to his knowledge of animals and their habits, he found for us lions and lionesses, cheetahs, rhinoceroses and hippos.
In each of the parks, John was able to show us their uniqueness.
The company, in accordance with our request, provided us with accommodation in excellent locations. Waking up in the morning, we met zebras, waterbucks, and monkeys at our doors. We felt like we were part of the African nature. This is impossible to forget.
All lodges fully met our expectations, and some of them even exceeded them. Each of the lodges was unique and located in picturesque locations.
Moving between parks by car allowed us to experience the full flavor of the diverse landscapes of Kenya in different climatic zones: on the plains, in the foothills and in the mountains.
In retrospect, we think it might have been better to combine travel between the parks by car and by plane, since the 6-hour drive from Amboseli to Nairobi was somewhat tedious. It was only thanks to John's excellent character and efforts that we covered this distance quite easily and cheerfully.
Throughout the entire tour, John followed our wishes and tried to make our trips not only educational, but also fun.
We did not regret choosing Camptrek Safari for our acquaintance with Africa.

Very well organised
As our first trip to Kenya we were unsure on how to properly plan a trip and what company to choose. Luckily Margaret was super responsive and designed our trip according to the dates, flight times and our preferences.
After a warm welcome at the airport she introduced us to our tour guide Eric who was very accommodating and knowledgeable.
Hotels were nice and staff welcoming. However, the last hotel might need some updating and requires stocking of the bar (no soft drink, no beer no wine and no brew coffee - we were wondering why they bother to open the bar) - but this not reflect on Camptrek as a company. Thank you Margaret and Eric for making this trip wonderful and memorable.
