Choose Super Africa Wildlife and Adventure Safaris with caution.
1/5

1、【Excessive Charges from the Guide】
Masai Mara was the highlight of our trip, and we relied heavily on the guide’s ability to find animals. The day before heading to Masai Mara, we promised the guide: "If you can show us carnivores in Masai Mara, we will pay a tip of 10,000 Kenyan Shillings each day." We believed this was a fair amount for a tip. However, when we hiked for 15 minutes to the Mara River, which was supposed to be a complimentary activity, the guide and a ranger forcibly charged us a $40 entrance fee. To make matters worse, our teammates happened to see the guide and the ranger laughing and splitting money at the back of the vehicle.
2、【Deliberately Preventing Us from Seeing Animals】
After experiencing this unjust charge, we reported the issue to the guide's boss. The guide became very unhappy the entire afternoon. To retaliate, he turned off the radio used for locating animals, and we crawled along slow dirt roads all afternoon, seeing only a few antelope and no other wildlife. By the next morning, during our safari, he didn’t even open the roof of the vehicle, clearly indicating he wanted us to see no animals at all. The entrance fee to Masai Mara is $200 per day; for four people, that’s a total of $800 wasted. We flew for over ten hours to see animals in Masai Mara, only to have our experience ruined by the SAWAS travel agency.
3、【Late Departures and Early Returns】
The guide did not follow the schedule we provided. After agreeing to leave at 6 AM, he always postponed departure to 7 AM. The worst instance was in Nakuru, where we only had a total of three hours on safari that day.
4、【Inability of the SAWAS Owner to Manage His Guides】
I reported the above issues to the agency owner, but he was completely unable to manage the situation and even passed responsibility onto others.

Almost everything we planed realized
5/5

It was a great experience to go with Super Africa Wildlife, the price is competitive, our contract is well delivered . Our Guide/Driver Bensil is a really responsible and experienced guide, he knows exactly where to spot which animal, thanks to his experience and our luck, we only waited by the Mara River around 1hour and saw the zebras and wildbeests crossing the river, it was spectacular!! Not only that, he also knows where the clean toilets are on the road, that's a big plus to us!!
The whole trip went pretty smooth, we had a very good time in Kenya!

Fluent communication, high cost performance, beyond expectations
5/5

We have finished our tour in Tanzania during 08/31/2024-09/08/2024. Definitely amazing experience!
*Communication: 10, smoothly. We firstly built the draft plan and sent to several companies, Super Africa Wildlife gave us the best quote for the first version and answered all questions we asked(20+). The manager even has Wechat to communicate, which saved so much time. We can feel the honesty and patience of the company.
*Service: 9, excellent. The whole service followed the plan in quote. Our guide Andrea are experienced with driving and guiding, especially he can find many animals accurately and predict the next step of the animal, then choose a better place for photo. He can even speak Chinese to introduce the Chinese name of many animals. A small point which can be optimized is that about hotel booking, we booked the company very late then some tents were booked up, then changed to another hotel/tent, the quality was still perfect, while the address of hotel is not that fit for our plan. But we were lucky enough and saw wildbeasts crossing Mara river at very beginning without waiting, so the pertential waste of time eliminated. For the shopping, we went 4 points while the best was on the last. We think maybe next time we can directly go to the last big shop for shopping and not stopped before.
*Value of money: 9, excellent. We compared many quotes and discussed the price with the company, the price is not very high, we think it's worthy. We transferred all the money before travelling and get 2% more discount and didn't face any problems.
*Reliability: 10, perfect. All followed the plan, no accident, anything can be arranged very well.
*The tour: 10, perfect. My dream came true.
I will definitely highly recommand the company to my friends and colleagues.

Super Africa Wildlife and Adventure Safaris – SAWAS – An Excellent Experience
5/5

We, three tour buddies, recently (August 15-24, 2024) completed our 10-day Kenya-Tanzania Wildlife Safari with the help of SAWAS or Super Africa in short.

We can summarize it as a top class, well planned and executed tour one can expect. It was absolutely mind blowing how SAWAS managed the complicated tour extended over 10 days and two countries. We were amazed by the service provided by SAWAS right from the arrival in and to the departure from Kenya.

This is our long-time dream, like many others, to visit the animal migration during the peak season, which is typically the month of August. I started contacting tour operators both in Kenya and Tanzania from November of 2023. Never been to Africa before and I was overwhelmed with the range of quotes and tour options provided by different tour operators.

I found SAWAS or Super Africa, to be the most optimal choice – Mr. Martin of SAWAS replied to my numerous emails and queries right away with every information I requested for. I sent them a custom-tailored tour plan, a circular trip rather than going and coming back on the same route, and SAWAS accommodated the plan within the original budget. The budget was based on mid-range to luxury accommodations.

With other tour operators the 10-day plan was actually covers 9 days, the SAWAS not only made it full 10 days they also included accommodation for our arrival day as well. They eventually made the tour for 11 days including the day we arrived, early morning of August 14th. They also requested the hotel for our early check-in and it helped us a lot as we just completed a 40-hour journey from Canada.

Mr. Martin clearly mentioned the details of the plan in a nice document including the payment options and everything was executed as per the plan. Mr. Martin met us on August 14th to explain the tour which to be started at 7:00 am on August 15th.

Sam, our driver and guide in Kenya, was right on time on 15th and our journey started on the right footing. Sam is very friendly and willing to help for everything we need, and I cannot appreciate Sam more – he looks after every details even before we asked and tried his best and we received our out of world experience – we saw lion chase right on the first day to numerous animal sightings including leopard eating a gazelle.

We crossed the Kenya – Tanzania border via Isebania border and the border crossing was smooth. Our Tanzanian driver and guide Shedrack was already present at the border when arrived there. I was little worried about the transition – but Sam and Shedrack are very professional and took all our worry away.

Shedrack is an excellent guide with huge knowledge of geology and cultural history of the area and people and made our Tanzanian experience as memorable as the Kenyan one. I simply cannot forget their timeliness, friendliness, professionalism even when we were starting at 6:00 am or 6:30 am, everyday, for a long 12-13 hours day. Every morning, they greeted us with big smile.

On our return to Kenya, Sam received us at Namanga border in the morning and to do so, he needed to start very early morning from Nairobi. He later drove pretty much whole day for game drive as well.

Mr. Martin invited us to The Carnivore restaurant on our last evening in Nairobi and provided the transport as well from our hotel. Mr. Martin also provided the transportation to the airport next day.

I need to mention a help, which seems small but actually big in my mind – I went to Nairobi GPO and bought some commemorative stamps. The GPO forgot KSH 2,750 when calculated the total cost. They called me later regarding their mistake and requested if I can transfer the amount. I requested Mr. Martin and he transferred the amount in less than a minute. This is I mentioned to show how SAWAS treats their guests – I found it incredible.

Our experience with SAWAS or Super Africa is simply unbelievable – I do not think I could ask more.

Amazing!
5/5

This was our first time going on a Safari, and after comparing multiple companies, we ultimately chose Super Africa. I have to say, this decision was very wise. Special thanks to our guide, Martin, whose service was exceptionally professional, and he was available almost 24/7. Communication with him was very efficient and pleasant. Our driver, Joseph, was absolutely fantastic; he was incredibly skilled at spotting animals and helped us see the Big Five, including a leopard. This trip was truly amazing, and I will recommend it to all my friends!

We saw more animals than other safari groups! - Masai Mara friendly!
5/5

Before I mention anything else about or amazing trip, I think it’s important to note the safari industry is having a negative effect on the environment and Masai Mara indigenous tribe, which I’m not going to go into in this review, but I will say Super Africa Safari is one of the few companies (I observed) going out of their way to curate their safari to be Masai Mara and environmentally friendly - specifically by supporting a Masai Mara run resort where we stayed and was one of the highlights our trip. This is reason alone to book a tour with Super Africa it gets so much better.

This was our first safari and we didn’t really know what to expect. We crossed paths with many other tour groups throughout or journey and towards the end of the trip we began to realize this wasn’t the same type of safari everyone else was on - It was much better curated with a greater emphasis on seeing as many different animals and parks as possible and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!

When choosing a safari tour company we were overwhelmed with all the different options and knowing so little about the country, made it difficult to trust we were making the right decision. We were also on a budget and opted for Super Africa Safaris because it was far less expensive than other companies. We were afraid we might regret it and get what we paid for but felt we got better value than a trip more than twice the cost and very happy with the decision we made. If we had spent money on a more expensive company we found that the money would have gone to unnecessary hotel upgrades were you may enjoy 5 star accommodations but you’re stuck at a hotel inside of a small wildlife preserve with very little animals to see. Sure there’s a luxury pool, bar and spa but why would you spend thousands of dollars more on a safari to just sit at a pool all day. Also, our accommodations were not lacking in the least. My wife and I are not young and we like to travel comfortably. All of the hotels and lodges we stayed at rivaled the average mid-high end western hotel. They all had clean comfortable rooms; really nice pools; safe and well manicured grounds; bars; serious chefs cooking amazing food using fresh local ingredients and plenty of internet and hot water.

As I mentioned, this wasn’t an expensive sit by the pool all day get pampered and go periodically drive around and check out a handful of different animals around the property. Super Africa Safari is an all out adventure from dusk till dawn to track down all the African wildlife. In the biggest national parks we constantly came across scenes that were unbelievable. Beautiful African skies surrounded by lush greenery with a dozen elephant in one direction, heard of zebra and wild beasts in another direction, hippos climbing out of the water with giraffe necks poking up behind trees in the background in another direction. All so surreal and mind bending I half expected to see a dinosaur pop into view next. Numerous occasions our vehicle was engulfed by herds of elephants lumbering by less than 30 feet from us, some herds with 100 plus elephant of all sizes and ages. I could write a novel about about all the incredible scenes we found ourselves in among the Big 5, crocodiles, birds, all the way down to lizards, butterflies and giant centipedes.

I thought a 14 day safari might be too long but I could have driven around for another 2 weeks. This safari covers a lot of ground, traveling through different ranges of climate, habitats and biodiversity in order to see a greater diversity of animals. Just a note, you do get a couple down days to break up the trip and spend time relaxing at the hotels. 4 wheel drive safari van was very comfortable with plush reclining chairs which made some of the longer drives easy to sit back and take in the scenery, nap or read a book. Had a large retractable stand up viewing roof. There are lots of rest stops along the way, many specifically for safari tour vehicles. Our guide, Sam, was extremely knowledgeable. Great at spotting hidden animals out of the corner of his eye and had deep knowledge of every tree, plant, animal, reptile, bird and insect under the sun.

This is the original look
5/5

It was a very good trip. The two girls were well taken care of. From the time we got off the plane and went through customs, the local guide was waiting at the door. We were not afraid at all. Africans were also very warm and friendly. We got rid of our fear of Africans. The driver was very friendly. Although my English was not good, I still had a very happy holiday. The driver also explained to us very attentively, using body language and vocabulary to make us understand as much as possible. He was very attentive.

A great trip
5/5

A safari trip I feel very lucky to have chosen this travel agency, the boss Martin is very reliable and very patient, the price is reasonable, really very recommended. Special praise to the driver and tour guide Sammy, he is very experienced, very understanding of animal knowledge, including birds, cheerful personality is very good to get along with a few days to get along with him to become a good friend. In the journey, he is our guide, but also our male mother, but also male bodyguard to protect all the way forward safely. Even when we all gave up looking for certain animals sometimes, he was very focused on not giving up. He also has "Maasai vision," which allows him to quickly spot distant animals, and can also be very brave and safe in pursuit, always stopping for the best view for us to watch and shoot. After the first day of getting along, we already trust him very much and believe that he will give us the best choice every time! Because fellow pedestrians like the company's surrounding T-shirts and hats very much, the boss also specially found someone to send us very moved! Hope to see you again next time
