My safari with Nungunungu was nothing short of exceptional. From the timely arrival of the guide to the overall experience we completed our safari with only one thing in mind, we have to do it again.

Nungunungu went over and beyond to ensure our comfort and that we got what we were looking for. As a photographer, I couldn't have asked for anything more. We were also thoroughly impressed by how well the guide was farmiliar with the flora and fauna and the landscape in general. They knew where to go at exactly the right time. Call it luck if you may but I strongly believe it was their expertise of the bush that made our trip what it was. Would 100% recommend!

Amazing trip from Mbeya to Kitavi National Park and Lakeshore, Kipili. Thank you Joseph of Nungunungu, Mbeya for the excellent itineray and travel arrangements.
In Katavi, I stayed two nights at Nomad Chada Camp. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the friendly staff and director. They anticipated my every need and made me feel at home throughout my entire stay. The accommodations were excellent and so was the food. Two game drives (morning and afternoon) allowed me to see wildlife in their natural habitat. It was an exhilarating adventure and one I will cherish forever. Hippos, crocodiles, birds of many species, monkeys, impala, cape buffalo, zebras, giraffes, elephants, reed buck, monitor lizard and even a python made appearances.
In Kipili, we stayed 5 nights at Lakeshore Resort, a remote paradise on Lake Tanganyika. This was the highlight of my trip to Tanzania - my daughter's wedding. It was a absolutely beautiful venue with nature at its finest. Water, sand, palm trees, bougainvillea, sunset and stars all made for an awe inspiring experience. Louise and Chris were very gracious hosts making my time there very enjoyable and with their efforts, my daughter's Pinterest board came to life. The accommodations and food were exceptional. The chalet was a relaxing retreat, complete with hammocks on the veranda. I did not want for anything. I enjoyed a sunset cruise on the lake, a stone massage and walks along the paths among the trees and flowers. Kayaking and snorkeling are also available.
There are still many places in Tanzania I would like to see. On my next trip, I will hire Joseph to be my safari photographer as well as the travel planner. I recommend you do the same; his photographs are superb.
Contact Nungunungu of Mbeya and get yourself to Tanzania. You won't be disappointed; you will be forever grateful you did.

Goes beyond expectations!
5/5

My friend Monique and I spent a month in Tanzania. Nungunungu was recommended by a good friend who lives in Mbeya. Kimberly, Joseph and all the guides went beyond our expectations to make sure our trip was a memorable one from day one. As soon as we arrived, we were taken care of! We traveled from Zanzibar to Dar. Then we took a 14 hour bus ride across the country, to Mbeya. What an experience! After spending a week helping the foundation "Hope for the future", Kimberly and Joseph took us to a Maasai village for a day and a night of discovery. Everyone was so welcoming, from Kashu, our host to the Moran (warriors), to the elders who cooked for us, to the women. What a memorable day. The next day we returned to Mbeya, had a great coffee plantation tour and a day later flew to Arusha. Joshua, our safari guide met us and after spending a couple of days visiting Arusha we left for our safari! Joshua was great: a great driver, a great story teller, a very caring guide. His knowledge of the Serengeti and the surrounding areas as well as the fauna and flora was astounding. Unfortunately, on the morning of June 10th, in the middle of the Serengeti, I woke up with one eye completely closed! It was rather worrisome. By noon, Kimberly (who was hundreds of km away) had managed to find a bush doctor who was willing to see me. After poking my eye here and there he declared that it was fine and would open in 5 days. I hadn't been bitten by anything yet he did not tell me what I had! We continued on with the safari, me, wearing sunglasses all day long. Joshua would become my "private photographer"! Three days later, my eye wasn't getting any better. It wasn't getting any worse which was a good thing! Kimberly thought I should get a second medical opinion. She found another doctor, this one in a 5 star resort, on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater, who after poking my eye declared that it should opened in two days! He prescribed stronger malaria pills and sent me on my way. Unbelievably, two days later my eye opened! After our memorable safari we spent another 10 days, going back to Zanzibar, spending 2 days on Chumbe Island, a must if you love snorkeling, a few days visiting Stone Stone. We had multiple guides throughout our trip, each and everyone as good as the other. Thank you Nungunungu for your great planning, giving us such a stellar trip! Now, if only Air France could find our lost suitcase full of souvenirs!
