Professional and Unforgettable. We feel like we found a new family.
Words can’t express how grateful I am for the experience Mountain Warriors gave my wife and me. It was truly the highlight of an unforgettable honeymoon in Tanzania. Although this was our first and only safari trip, and we do not have anything to compare it to, it is difficult to imagine that anyone else could have served us better.
Mountain Warrior’s professionalism began months ago during the booking process. Rehema was always quick to answer my questions on WhatsApp, and Mountain Warriors’ rates were the most competitive. Their package for a 4-day camping safari was less than all the 3-day offers I received from their competitors.
As for the safari itself, our guide, Rogarth, was phenomenal. Not only does he have boundless knowledge of all the animals in Tanzania and the local tribes, but his passion for what he does made the entire experience even more rewarding. In the Serengeti, we observed a lion who had taken down a large zebra only moments before. Rogarth spotted the scene from miles away before bringing us to it, and soon, we were the only car in eyesight to witness this incredible spectacle. He knew exactly how to position us so that elephants passed immediately in front of the vehicle or came very close by. He also drove to our original hotel, picked up our luggage, and dropped it off at the hotel we booked after the safari, which he did not need to do.
Rogarth’s humor was also a pleasant surprise, as was his ability to navigate all the personalities that comprised our unique and eccentric group. It is a testament to his abilities that we all felt like a family so quickly instead of complete strangers who had to share a full jeep with all of our luggage for twelve hours a day.
Mariam, our chef, also exceeded our expectations. She woke up at 4:00 am every morning to prepare us a restaurant-quality breakfast and lunch. She also cooked dinner each night upon our arrival at the campsites. At our request, she even made a local Tanzanian dinner on the third night, which was a unique and rewarding opportunity for us. Mariam also has a talent for preparing food I never thought would be so portable and tasty while camping, including pizza, pasta, and chapatti!
Admittedly, joining a shared tour can be confusing. One of the other guests had actually booked with another safari operator. Yet, they switched her to our vehicle for the four-day safari. Additionally, there were some itinerary changes a few hours before we left. However, we still saw everything we had planned for, and the changes actually improved our overall experience. All of this is probably to be expected, given that we are in Tanzania. Ultimately, it is impressive to see how all the different safari operators work together to ensure one another’s success—especially their radio conversations over where recent animal sightings are.
Camping this way can also be shocking. The herds of water buffalo that strolled into the camp after dinner by Ngorongoro were mesmerizing but also intimidating. As were the hyenas that woke campers in the Serengeti up to fight over scraps in the camp. Outside of that, the tents and facilities were quite nice for public campsites and served as a pleasant reminder that these environments are still primarily the domain of local wildlife. Despite this, we always felt that we were in good hands, and it was liberating to let Rogarth and Mountain Warriors take the wheel (both physically and metaphorically) for this part of our honeymoon.
Overall, we are incredibly grateful to the Mountain Warriors professionals for providing such an incredible safari to highlight our honeymoon. To anyone else booking, we recommend adding the Serengeti to your itinerary, even though it adds a lot of time.
Asante sana, Rogarth, Mariam and Rehema

Amazing safari and best service
Rehema and Gasto were the best providers I have dealt with. They ensured our trip went great and were very quick to respond. Our safari experience was prefect and the upgrade to the tented camp completed the trip. To finish the day at a glamping style tent with the best restaurant food and service really completed our trip & they even provided a lunch pack to take on the road. Highly recommend

Amazing experience in Tanzania
Elias, the driver, was really good and managed to spot many animals (including all the Big 5).
The cook Salim provided great food. Everything he cooked was delicious.
I'm really happy we chose Suricata Safari and Mountain Warriors for this trip!

Loved every minute
My sister and I had the trip of a lifetime on a three day Safari to the Serengeti and to the Ngorongoro Crater with Mountain Warriors. We had Simon as a guide who was born in the area, and he was phenomenal. He has a degree or training in some sort of natural studies, and we never stumped him once. He knew every animal, tree, every bird, even geological phenomena that we asked him about. He was so kind and patient and took such great care of us. He drove us to random things we wanted to see, like when we said we wanted to see a huge baobab, he knew where to find one. We came during the rainy season, and we literally passed an area that had 15 stuck Jeeps and Simon was the only one that made it through. At the exit of Ngorongoro there are some aggressive baboons that tried to come into the vehicles as they left the park and he anticipated everything and closed up the car in the nick of time – unlike the jeep next to us that had baboons ransacking their car! Both my sister and I were so sad to say goodbye to Simon. Our package included the coordination of our travel to and from Zanzibar and when our return flight was canceled they took care of everything and got us housing for the evening. The owner himself drove us to the airport the next day. We learned the origins of the name Mountain Warriors – Gasto (the owner) has climbed Kilimanjaro hundreds of times as a guide and he is of the Maasai tribe. If you’d like to support a small business (this is not a large commercial operation) this is the tour for you, where your dollars will go directly towards entrepreneurial locals who are trying to build their own business. Rosemary in the office was very responsive by Whatsapp of all of our questions. I can’t recommend it enough.

very efficient and friendly. I always felt I could text any time of the day
Godfrey was such a legend. He was very patient and kind and gave us a lot of information and also answered all of our questions. To me it felt like he was trying to make sure everyday was special and made sure we seen all of the animals. Mountain warriors were really easy to deal with and Gasto was superb at replying quickly on WhatsApp. There was some issue with our accommodation but Gasto didn’t worry us with this and only told us on the day that he had upgraded us for no extra charge which I felt was really nice.

Tour operator ensured an unforgettable journey.
In a captivating 3-day safari across Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Materuni Waterfall, we had the pleasure of being guided by Peter and Kevin. Peter, for the initial two days, impressed us with his kindness and professionalism, providing detailed insights into the local fauna and sharing interesting facts about the region. The third day with Kevin was equally wonderful, spending a delightful day at the waterfalls.
A heartfelt thanks to Rosemary for impeccable organization and prompt responses to our emails. The only downside was the Karibu Heritage Hotel, with slightly dirty rooms and slow service. Nevertheless, despite this inconvenience, we highly recommend this extraordinary experience to everyone, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in our lives!
