Very knowledgeable and helpful
I'll start off by saying that the service we received from Secret Namibia was out of this world. They were always super fast with their responses and their knowledge on the destinations and lodges were spot on.
Every little detail was taken care of, we did not have to think about anything during our safari. They also go the extra mile with the care package they put together for us, it's almost as if they knew exactly who we are. As far as luxury tour operators go, I'd say Secret Namibia is one of the best I have dealt with.
We did a 16 day fly-in safari visiting the following places and lodges.
Sossusvlei / Little Kulala - absolutely amazing
Swakopmund / Strand Hotel (do the Sandwich Harbour Tour)
Damaraland / Onduli Ridge - do the 3 night stay to get the full experience, totally worth it.
Skeleton Coast / Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp - have to rate this as one of the best places I've stayed at in the world, and the experiences they have on offer is unforgettable.
Kaokoland / Serra Cafema - Initially we were not going to go so far north, but our safari consultant insisted that we go and it ended up being our 2nd favourite place of the entire safari.
Etosha / Camp Kala - Its a new lodge and the attention to detail was excellent, the game viewing was also much better than in many other game parks in southern Africa.
The food at all the lodges was also extremely good. They also cater for guests with various dietary requirements. (my partner is Vegan)
We are already considering doing another trip to Namibia, the country has so much to offer and if you are on the fence about going to Namibia, get off and go, you will not be disappointed.

The Secret Namibia Team was amazing to work with, giving us a memorable journey throughout Namibia!
We gave Chrizell a tall task in planning our self drive Namibia trip. She was quick to connect with us and was thorough in understanding our travel requests, as well as lodging requirements. We were late in our request, but somehow, she was able to put together an amazing trip that had all the key places we wanted. The cost she gave us was very reasonable, and the payment process was very easy to complete (not always so easy with African vendors). We received an initial itinerary that we adjusted a couple of times (due to our requests), and Chrizell and Johan sent us updated agendas as the day approached. We were all set!
When we arrived in Windhoek, we were met in the airport by Secret Namibia, and given a packet with maps, hotel vouchers, some animal and bird identification books. We met with our vehicle provider (Samuel), and he explained the how-to's of driving the (brand new!) vehicle. That was great, as we went through even how to change the tire(s) (we had 2 spares). However, thank goodness, we had zero issues with the vehicle, which also had a cooler in the back for items that needed to be kept cool.
The route we were given optimized our time and travel. Accommodations were great to good, though the latter is all that is available in some remote areas we went to (and likely impacted by our late planning). We had an amazing time in all the places we visited, and would not suggesting skipping any of them. We visited Windhoek, Kalahari, Fish Canyon, Klein Aus (wild horses), Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Palmwag Etosha NP, and Waterberg. The 3 weeks went very fast, and we truly enjoyed the self driving aspect of the trip. We specifically enjoyed doing the self drive safari in Etosha, where we went where we wanted, as well as stayed as long as we wanted, in the park. Fish River Canyon, Sossusvlei (you gotta climb Big Daddy Dune, and then the rush of going down it!), and Kalahari also stood out for us.
Watchouts on the trip are the number and locations of gas stations, lots of unpaved roads (we enjoyed this actually), and poor cell/wifi coverage in remote areas (which is to be expected). We actually had some wifi coverage in our vehicle, which was really helpful!
We have already recommended Secret Namibia to friends who have inquired. The excellent service, the freedom of self driving, and excellent pricing, make them an easy referral for us!

Secret Namibia organised a wonderful tour that met all our requirements.
The video call to set up what we wanted to do was really useful. All the arrangements, hotels and travel plans, were of a high standard. In country support was great. They even organised a new hotel when we didn’t drive far enough.

Dream Honeymoon Thanks To Secret Namibia
Our honeymoon in Namibia was a dream come true, thanks to Secret Namibia. Everything was flawlessly planned, from the smooth transfers between our lodges to the personalized suggestions for the best activities. Johan ensured we had a perfect balance of adventure and relaxation, whether it was exploring the dunes or unwinding in the peaceful, romantic settings. The communication throughout was exceptional, making us feel completely at ease. After all the wedding events we really needed to just switch off and the whole trip was awesome- better than we could have imagined. We’re already discussing returning for our anniversary as we've heard about a combined safari they offer that includes a visit to Vic falls. We’ll definitely be booking with Secret Namibia again! Huge Thanks.

Seamless planning and perfect execution
A boutique travel agent in Namibia that understand its customer needs and finds way to satisfy the customer wishes. We spent a wonderful and amazing two weeks roaming across central and Western Namibia (not Skeleton Coast) and spent nights in extraordinary lodges. A dream come true.

Great holiday booking, lack of support during holiday
I'll start by saying that we had an amazing experience and loved our holiday. Secret Namibia were helpful and patient with our requirements and booked an amazing trip for us. What left us sad was the lack of care and support that we received in the immediate run up to the trip and during it. We had to ask for a detailed itinerary in the days before our departure (which turned out to be little more than a list of where we were booked ie it didn't include any useful information about transfers, timings, what to expect, what tipping was etc etc), and we were told we would receive a printed version on our arrival (we never received anything). They suggested a transfer from our hotel in Windhoek the morning of our departure, for which we were charged the equivalent of £70 for a 5 min ride in a friend's car where the mess had to be moved off the back seat to allow us to sit down, and were we were just dumped in the airport car park with no further instructions. When we had delays and problems during the trip our pilot and his company had to solve the issues himself and Secret Namibia contacts us to 2 days later to say they hoped we were ok, but with no apology for non contact. For a trip of a lifetime, Secret Namibia are the only part that we feel let down with. Go to Namibia, but perhaps find another agency to book it through.

Superb Family Safari. Service & Support Outstanding.
Took the family on a safari to Namibia this summer and it completely exceeded our expectations. After doing a lot of research online, SecretNamibia stood out as the best option for families, and we couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice. Johan and his team made sure every detail was covered, and from the moment we booked, it was clear we were in expert hands.
Travelling with our two children, we were looking for a balance of adventure and comfort, and SecretNamibia delivered exactly that. They arranged everything, from the brilliant lodges to the smooth transitions between locations, making the entire trip effortless. Namibia is an unbelievably beautiful country, and each part of our journey brought something new.
In Etosha National Park, the wildlife was amazing – seeing lions, elephants, and giraffes up close was a dream come true, especially for the kids. But it wasn’t just the game drives that made the trip so memorable. SecretNamibia organised a range of activities that catered to the whole family, including guided nature walks and a special helicopter flight over the Namib Desert. Watching the sunrise over the dunes from above was absolutely breathtaking.
Our stay at the NamibRand Nature Reserve was a highlight, where we were able to relax and take in the landscapes. The combination of adventure and pure luxury made it feel like a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience. Johan’s expertise and care in planning meant we were able to focus on enjoying every moment. Unlike other tour organisers, Secret Namibia are also based in Namibia which put us massively at ease in case anything went wrong (it didn't!).
If you’re thinking of a family safari, you'll be really taken care of with SecretNamibia. They made sure every part of our trip was extra special, and we left Namibia with about a million photos and memories we’ll cherish forever! 10/10 experience!

Perfectly planned, Perfectly executed - Thank You Secret Namibia!
Just back from the most amazing 12 days in Namibia and it couldn't have been more perfect! Secret Namibia sorted everything and I mean everything. They suggested the perfect mix of places - we did Etosha (saw so many elephants!), the Skeleton Coast (feels like another planet), and Damaraland which was just stunning.
The lodges were out of this world - we're talking private pools overlooking waterholes, the comfiest beds ever, and the most delicious food we've ever had abroad. Hard to choose a favourite lodge but if you're staying in Sossusvlei, highly recommend Desert Lodge- there's a private observatory for stargazing that was absolutely magical. This was packaged as a luxury tour and it didn't disappoint, everywhere we went the service was fantastic. All our guides were brilliant, always seemed to know exactly where the wildlife would be and they were full of fascinating stories.
I can't say enough good things about Christell, our travel consultant, who was always really quick to reply and nothing seemed too much trouble - she even changed things around three times until we were 100% happy! Before we left, she sent us the most detailed itinerary I've ever seen - we knew exactly what to expect each day. She even thought of things we wouldn't have even considered and totally made us feel at ease.
If you're thinking about a safari, honestly just book it - this was a genuine once-in-a-lifetime experience! Worth every penny for the five-star treatment we had and can only say brilliant things about Secret Namibia- they really seem to care about giving you the best possible holiday.

happy with the whole experience, except for handover at the end which was very poor
We were happy with the pick-up arrangements, although our contact was late arriving at the airport and the vehicle was good (there were a few minor problems but given that we were travelling on bumpy, gravel roads this is fair enough). The accommodation ranged from good to excellent and the country itself is really spectacular.
However, the handback at the end was dreadful. I had a lot to do in Windhoek, including looking after a young child. The handback time was delayed which necessitated me hanging around my hotel and, when someone eventually turned up there was no apology for the inconvenience I has been caused. The representative then tried to charge me an exorbitant sum for not returning with a full tank (fortunately I had photographed the fuel gauge at the start of the trip which showed it had been handed over half-full). As the full gauge showed 60km less than we had started she then tried again to charge me an exorbitant amount to make up the balance (I went to a petrol station and filled up with for 25% of the price she wanted). Given the very large amount of money I had spent with the company and the generally positive experience we'd had, this was a very poor way to end the trip . We will return to Namibia but not with Secret Namibia
