Exemplary !!
Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris Ltd offers the best of the bush with the comforts of home. We did the 3 day 2nights Masai Mara Experience. This all-inclusive package provides the best of both worlds with everything taken care of in between!I feel the description of Kenya Walking Survivors Safari needs to be categorized into two parts, hospitality(tents, food) and safari(tours, guides, and vehicle)
Hospitality:
Mara AA lodge run a first class operation. To begin with, the staff is amazing. The food is great and plentiful; the tents are very comfortable and spacious. We had a lovely dinner the first evening we arrived. It was fun to enjoy the bonfire and company. The tents made it feel like a more genuine and personalized safari experience, with ample room and provide hot and cold showers. I admit I was hesitant at first for the idea of tents, but found the experience to be worthwhile and not spartan as I feared.
Safari:
The location is great and allows access into Masai Mara National Park. We were able to do evening and morning game drives seeing giraffe, elephants, buffalo, leopard, lioness, a hyena and more. The guide we worked with (Mwangi) was knowledgeable and extremely personable. If you get a chance to take a walking safari with Mwangi you will learn more about animals, birds and insects than you can ever imagine. He was also very helpful taking photos of us(my family) at the Mara river and at the Kenya,Tanzania border :) He also took us for a drive to the Trans Mara land to have lunch in the wild where we had a view of the Mara landscape that was one you'd die for ☺️
Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Owner really needs to improve after sales service....Else would have been an excellent experience
OT (the owner) was extremely responsive to our needs before I booked the trip. We went for a 10 days Safari covering Tsavo, Amboseli, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Nakura. Due to flight delays, we had to make some changes in the itinerary and that is when the problem started. Although he tried to be flexible, he did not talk to us directly to understand if we were satisfied with the change. He was just not responsive. He did not remember the extras we booked, did not instruct the driver about the plan properly, gave a different hotel name to the one we were originally booked for to the driver in one occasion and so on. The trip was excellent but these things and the fact that for 2 days out of the 10 days trip he booked us in sub-standard hotels really spoilt our mood. On one occasion we had to wait for OT to give the driver the money for the park visit thereby delaying our visit.
The driver-guide (John) was excellent and did his best to cover up for these short comings. I think OT has a good team of people but due to mis-management he will start getting not so good reviews.

Perfect trip
Everything was perfect. The experience was unbelievable.
Our drive was really friendly. The van was a little bit old but we travelled alone then the trip was ok.

Amazing experience for super value! :)
My partner and I did a 7 day safari with KWSS. It was amazing! Our guide, Stephen, was super knowledgeable, funny, and professional. We saw the "Big 5" and went to 3 different locations. We found that diversifying, going to 3 different locations in 7 days was great...but the roads can be quite rough (and that's an understatement). We ate delicious food the whole time either cooked by our cook Sam or provided by local restaurants. Overall, the safari was incredible. It's beyond words to be within feet of lions, elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos, buffalo, ostrich, zebras...the list goes on and on. We certainly recommend KWSS; a very trustworthy and budget safari company.

KWSS provides authentic and unique expirience in the field of safari.
I was thrilled with the service that was offered by KWSS. I can vouch for their professionalism and enthusiasm in providing an awesome safari experience. Our trip to Maasai Mara game reserve and lake Nakuru national park was incredible. Seeing the famous big 5 live was amazing. I will not hesitate to choose and to recommend this tour operator.
I like the fact KWSS helps you to custom (tailor) make your trip based on your interests and your budget too. You get value for your money. Picking us ( my family and I ) from our home in Thika Kenya and dropping us back after the safari was an awesome experience. I would like to thank Mr. Otieno for his professionalism in handling and understanding the clients needs. Special thanks also goes to our driver/tour guide Mr. Zachariah for his outstanding knowledge of wildlife. He is well versed with the game parks and their inhabitants at large. Keep up the good work KWSS!!

Great price, Great Safari!
We booked a last minute (about 1 day prior to departure) Safari with Kenya Walking Survivors Safari and it was fantastic! They were super fast to respond to our emails, they arranged transportation for us, our tour guide was very knowledgeable (he didn't laugh at any of our silly questions) and our cook was amazing. The price was very reasonable, better than anything else we saw online but it was perfect! Highly recommended.

Great adventure, very good organised
General opinion: Mr. Otieno is a reliable person, John (our driver) is a very good driver, the lodges were very nice, the safari car a little bit old but in general ok.
Me and my boyfriend booked a 4-days Safari Tour with Kenya Walking: Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East. Kenya Walking didn't have such a tour but we wanted very much to see both Amboseli and Tsvao West. Mr. Otieno was flexible with our request and organised this "special" tour and made us a good offer. We were skeptical of paying upfront with a deposit (and not with VISA/Mastercard as we are used to in Europe). But we did this and the payment was confirmed by Mr. Otieno.
We started the tour from Mombasa Airport. We were nervous if indeed somebody will wait for us at the airport. We were pleasant surprised as although we fixed a meeting time, John came earlier as he knew our flight details and estimated a sooner time for meeting us. In this way we didn't stay long outside airport. We were also pleased with the fact that Mr. Otieno called us to check if we landed ok and if we met our safari driver.
Related to the tour the first 3 days were intense. In the 1st day we were more on the road but we got to make a game drive in Amboseli park in the evening and the next day morning and saw many elephants, impala, a few hypos and ostriches. For Tsavo West it was as Mr. Otieno told us. There weren't too many animals but we got to see many giraffes and zebra. Our goal was to see also this part of the Tsavo park so it did worth for us. The surprise was that here we had the chance to see leopard. We stayed at Ngulia Safari Lodge where in the evening the personnel feeds the leopard: they arranged a place near lodge and they put meat and we were lucky that the leopard came to eat. Then in Tsavo East we stayed at the Voi Safari Lodge that allowed us to see all the park from above. (very nice lodge). Here our driver made his best in the evening to see lions, but we succeeded only in the morning to see 5 lioness. The great thing was that John guided us and told us when is best to begin the game drive. e.g. if we had stayed 5 minutes more at the Voi Safari lodge we would have missed the lioness.
The game drive from 4th day was short. We would have expected to stay longer in the park. But then we needed to be on road again for 200km to our next holiday destination Watamu beach. The great thing was that Kenya Walking drove us all the way from Tsavo East to Watamu with no extra costs.
So nevertheless a great experience! We will recommend Kenya Walking to friends.
Asante sana!
