Amazing wildlife spotting, nice selection of hotels and very friendly guides
5/5

We booked a 12 days safari - 2 months prior to the starting date. Even though we asked for some changes concerning the itinerary at short notice (we started the traveling during the week of elections in Kenya) it didn't cause any problems and Mr Otieno managed to set up a new plan according to our wishes. The safari went very well: good organisation, reliable drivers/guides with perfect knowledge of the parks, routes and wildlife. We had a great time with both of them: Robinson in Kenya and Tom in Tanzania. Thank you again, guys! Accommodation has been completely satisfying throughout. Highly recommended and we would book again with Kenya Walking Survivors.

It was an amazing experience with the animals in the parks. The guides from Kenya Walking were nice and try to give us the best time in the tour. The cost x benefit of the tour was very good and we recommend for everybody that wants to visit Kenya!!!! Thanks Otieno for everything!!!

Amazing Experience
5/5

We had such an amazing experience with Kenya Walk Survivors. The service leading up to the trip was great and they were always prompt to answer any questions. The safari was incredible. Our guide (Peku) was so knowledgeable and was always looking out for us. It is hard to describe the experience but it was definitely the coolest thing I have ever done. I highly recommend using this company.

Thank you Kenya Walking, you are the best!
5/5

We, a family of 4, with youngest member being 10 years old, visited Kenya for ~2 weeks, in late July/early August' 2017 with Kenya Walking. Boy oh boy, it was a dream trip and Mr. Otieno and team made it to be a wonderful experience of life, for all of us. It can not get better than this.

We had done some research and decided to book our tour with Kenya Walking. Kenya Walking has it's own fleet of good vehicles and great knowledgeable employee base. There are no other middlemen involved and we found them to be very reasonably priced.

We had requested for luxury accommodations and that's what we got. Great hotels with very comfortable living, strategically located and great food with cuisine options of Kenyan, Western and Indian cuisines, all included in the package.

They guided us and customized the itinerary per our request. Mr. Otieno is very responsive and usually reverts back within a few hours on any emails/queries. Very good in communication and easy to work with. Once we got there, they took good care of us and it did feel that they were trying their best all the time to make it the best possible experience for all of us.

We had Mr. Anthony as our tour guide and driver. He is very knowledgeable, experienced, flexible and caring professional. He is very safe driver too. It really felt like a family of 5. With Anthony we had great sightings, lot of fun and tons of learning,.

There was an over-payment situation at one of the hotel for some reason, hotel did not refund it right away, Mr. Otieno followed up with the hotel directly after we left and secured us the payment back. What else can you ask for, really?

Thank you the team at Kenya Walking. We are already considering for our next trip, the Gorilla Trek with Kenya Walking in about a year or two. :-)

Highly Recommended but good idea to request specific tour guides
5/5

My fiance and I did the 15 day tour in Kenya, Tanzania and Gorilla trekking in Uganda which just finished Sept 27, 2017. Overall, we had a fantastic time. We had Paul for 3 days for Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. Paul was excellent -> he was an experienced driver who understood our needs and was proactive in helping us spot wildlife. Then we had David for 8 days for gorilla trekking and Lake Naivasha. David was also wonderful to us -> he was also an experienced driver and he adjusted the itinerary to fit our needs. He also went above and beyond by making sure our hotels/camps were ones that had not received complaints from previous clients. We knew both Paul and David were committed to making sure we were going to get the best experience possible within the given time frames -> request them for your tour if possible. Even Mike, who was the person who helped us cross the Malaba border (he stays at the border to help facilitate smooth border crossing for Kenya Walking Survivors) was friendly and helpful. For our 4 day tour of Tanzania, we did not have a great experience with the guide as he was inexperienced and unmotivated at times -> Otieno assured us there would be an improvement on the Tanzania side for guides. Juda was our driver back to Nairobi from the Tanzanian border and he told us he also does the Tanzanian tour as well -> he has 28 yrs of experience and based on our 3 hr drive, we would recommend requesting him for your tour in Tanzania. Overall, we were happy with our accommodations. And the itinerary we followed worked well but we would recommend 1 less day in Lake Naivasha and replace it with 1 more day in the Serengeti (minimum 2 nights in Serengeti because it is a large area). Lastly, run over the itinerary with your guide prior to starting to make sure the itinerary they received was the same as the one you have -> we found 2 pit stops missing from our guides' itinerary -> one guide was able to put it back into the itinerary because we caught it early but the second one wasn't because we caught it afterwards. With the exception of one guide, these guys do a great job and i would recommend them!!

Best holiday experience
5/5

I could not be happier with the service provided by Kenya Walking Survivor Safaris.
This was our first trip to Africa and I was wanting to do this trip to the Masai Mara and the Serengeti for many years.
Every little detail was taken care of by Mr Otieno from the start right up to the end.
It was a terrific experience and I would have no problem recommending Kenya Walking Survivor Safaris to anyone planning a trip to Kenya.
Each of the guides ( Paul and Joel ) were highly professional and went out of their way to ensure that we experienced everything that we could wish for.
I really hope we can go back again soon

Samburu, Lake Nkuru, Masai Mara, Elsamere and Amboseli by van
5/5

This was an outstanding tour, both my wife and I feel this was the best vacation since we have been married (10 years). Kennedy was our driver/guide and did a fantastic job of finding wildlife. Boy did we see wildlife. We saw the big 5 in three days!. We were amazed at how close we could get to Lion, elephant, cheetahs and the elusive leopards. I had a 55-300mm telephoto lens but other that for animal head shots, didn't need it.

We are 68 and 67 and were a little worried the trip might too rigorous but no we left tired but thrilled after 10 wonderful days. We are from Seattle WA and were surprised that the lodgings were better than expected and we did four nights in the luxury tents, the Kibo safari camp and the Sekenani Camp which come complete with a full size bath, shower and toilet. At the Maasai Mara we heard lions roar one night and very close by, but the area is patrolled all night and if the lions get too close they turn the camp lights on!

The drives between destinations were long sometimes 5 hours or so but nevertheless interesting to pass through the countryside and villages.

Communication was excellent. Emails were replied the same day and telephone calls returned

All in all a big thank you Mr OT and Kennedy for a great vacation.

Wonderful experience
5/5

All arrangements were followed through very effectively from the minute we arrived at Nairobi airport until we arrived back to Nairobi after completing the trip.
The guides ( Paul & Joel ) were very professional & friendly and ensured that we got the best from the trip.
Accommodation ranged from very good Hotels to a wonderful campsite in the Serengeti. Food was very good with adequate lunchboxes provided each day.
The road trips were a bit rough, but they are bush roads and very bumpy and dusty as it was dry season so dust masks would be very useful at this time of year.
We are already looking forward to going back and will definitely be using Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris Ltd

Life time Experience
5/5

The time we boarded the cars at 7:30 am in Nairobi gymkhana, where we stayed the night before after arriving from India, till 4:30 pm (24/07/2017) two words summarise the trip...Africa is Mesmerising, and when you have a partner in the form of Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris Ltd it is Scintillating. The way the group had taken care of us in the form of transport, ever helpful guides who helped us by not feeling as a stranger in an alien land, accommodations goes a long way in establishing a fact that we chose and correct company and everyone back home in Kolkata, India have already started making plans for their visit with Kenya walks.. Thanks Otieno in particular from Day 1 we started planning to Pau, David, Justin, Earnest, Schuma and Ken droping us back to the airport after a week with memories to cherish and share for the rest of our lives.

A wonderful option for budget travelers
5/5

Kenya Walking was beyond expectations in almost every aspect. The team was warm and instantly made us feel at home. The accommodations provided during the trip was adequate tending towards luxury. The meals were good. We got to see the Big Five in a single day at Masai Mara.

Thanks to Mr. Otieno and his team for the wonderful experience.

But no amount of praise shall do justice to Mr. Ibrahim, our driver cum guide cum companion for the trip. He was patient, dedicated, friendly and was determined to make our trip a success. He left no stones unturned to help me get the best shot- every time. My 7 yr old daughter became very fond of him. We felt sad to leave him at the end of or trip. We miss him even now. He was the key ingredient of our successful trip.
