Very knowledgeable about our route. A great tour!
It is always great fun travelling new routes that you haven't driven before. The tour was nice and relaxed. The campsites were clean and neat. The ablutions were good. All in all we had a fantastic time!

The tour operator is a likeable fellow and participates in all of the adventures.
First trip with B-S and took along a two man tent and was completely self contained with my vehicle. The camping spots were well thought out and well exposed in the bush. The facilities for eating was a communal fire and eating was around a large temporary table - the vibe was jovial and all encompassing. Value for money was good, the public are not able to visit these secluded places without rangers. the tour operator checked on each individual throughout the trip. At no stage was one exposed to any danger with the vehicle either on track or in the bush. I have been on two subsequent trips and will certainly participate in future adventures.

Would not consider doing a trip like this without this tour operator.
This particular trip is not for the faint hearted. The area is within a homeland and completely wild. Unless you own a good reliable 4x4 and a good solid off road trailer, don't bother applying. This is a life changing experience, the scenery is rugged, but breathtaking. The wild animals literally come through your camp as you are in their domain. The tour operator has the ability to bring everyone together and each one has their areas of responsibility, the trip cannot be done alone, it needs a team to travel the distance. Am waiting for the next one.

A very nice and knowledgeable gentleman who prepared the tour very well and communicated well
Johann took us on a tour called "Berg to Bush". It was kind of a practical training on how to use the Toyota on very off road -like tracks through wonderful nature with stunning views. We loved to be off the beaten track and not seeing other tourists. It made us feel like we were exploring this area ourselves. Johann is a wonderful host who looks after his "guests" well. He is very punctual and adapted the tour flexibly to our requests. He communicated very well weeks before the tour and during the trip itself as well. He was a knowledgeable instructor on 4 wheel driving off road.
The campsite where we were could have used some refurbishing but there is a beautiful log cabin place near a stream which is definitely very nice.
We would definitely recommend our trip to friends.

Bonsai-SA is a competent, experienced and well organised4x4 tour operator.
We joined Johan from Bonsai-SA on a 3 day off-the-beaten track 4x4 wild camping tour in the unspoilt Phalaborwa area of the Kruger National Park, South Africa. The tour was well organised, the group small enough to get personal attention and the Park's supplied guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I can whole-heartedly recommend the adventure. This was our second tour with Bonsai-SA and hope to do more.

Calm, decisive, leader, real overlander.
The tour is in a beautiful area of the Kruger Park. It will improve, deeper into the rain season. Touring next to the river, is a privilege.
I prefer "wild camping" and it is exactly that. Making camp and breaking up again is part of the experience and relaxing.
Planning your own menu and food, is part of the challenge.
We did not persè saw many animals, but is part of the risk, like going fishing. Next time you may be lucky.
I will definitely try another similar tour. We had an excellent tour guide and it makes the experience even more memorable.
Thank you, Johan, for a well planned tour, staying close to us and be one of us.
Professional
Great value for money. A tour guide that is knowledgeable, friendly and willing to assist with anything that might be required.
He is very well organised. A pleasure to have him guide us.

Excellent service and very professional.
Johan demonstrated a great wealth of knowledge about the area and history of the area we toured.
The 4x4 was exciting but never to a point where my vehicle got damaged or hurt.
The experience was so private and secluded!
Well done! Africa seen as Africa should be seen.

Exceptional
We traveled to Lekgalameetse with Johan & Elna in December 2022.
Everything was extremely well planned. As we arrived at our detestation we had to go through a 4x4 trail. Johan made sure each and every car got through the obstacles safely. He had so much information that he shared with us about the area that we were in. Told us so many stories, we loved it.
He made it so much fun!
