Professional
Botswana has always been our number one bucket list country to visit. Not just because of the wildlife and flora, but the fact that the country, despite being one of the poorest, has managed to maintain a peaceful and democratic society since its independence, which is a credit to the entire population. The people are friendly and warm.
The experience that my wife and I had during our tented safari with Lucas not only reinforced our perception of Botswana but added a totally new dimension. Under guidance of Lucas with his merry band of helpers, Pula (the Chef), Bungi and Antonie, you wouldn’t get better service if you were in a 5-star resort. But we weren’t in a resort; we were witnessing and in a sense being part of the local flora and fauna in its natural habitat which is breathtaking and a beautiful reminder of the cycle of life.
Not just the capabilities of Lucas, but his oneness with nature was an extraordinary experience. Staying in tents, with relatively basic infrastructure compared to what we are used to, in the middle of a game reserve having a drink or meal under the beautiful African sky was mesmerising. Lucas’ love for his country and his work was infectious.
Pula’s cooking with different meals every day was lovely, Bunga and Antonie assisting in every way to make us feel comfortable; it all added to the total experience.

Life changing trip with Lucas Tshupo
From the moment Lucas picked us up at the Maun airport until it was (sadly) time to depart, we had the most amazing experiences. Lucas has a deep knowledge of the Botswana territory, wildlife patterns and relationships with the other guides. All of this led to a once-in-a-lifetime interaction with elephants, wildebeest, cheetahs, lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas, jackals, all kinds of gazelle and antelope, hippos, and far too many birds to mention. I have some phenomenal pictures from this trip that could only have been taken with Lucas's knowledge and patience; he knew where to park the safari vehicle to get the best angles and light. If you are looking to check off a list in a day, this isn't the trip for you. If you want to track cheetah for a couple of hours and see them in their own habitat, doing their own thing, this is DEFINITELY the trip for you. We spent a few hours watching 5 lion cubs playing and their moms hunting and returning. It was life-changing. The accommodations (comfortable tent, bucket shower with plenty of hot water, clean and well-tended pit toilet, comfy beds (!)) worked well and were set up near areas where the animals watered or played. The food was good and plentiful. I highly endorse Lucas as the best guide / photography support in Botswana.

Great Safari from Chobe to Moremi with Lucas
Amazing tented safari through Chobe, Savuti, Khwai and Moremi. Thanks to our great guide Lucas, this safari was an absolut highlight standing out from any previous safaris we did. Lucas’ unbelievable knowledge, patience and excellent anticipation for different situations lead to unbelievable animal encounters every single day. Always in the best location to see everything and perfect for pictures he was able to answer every question we had about the wildlife, nature and people of Botswana. As we were on safari basically the whole day from sunrise till sunset, we had a lot of time to patiently observe the animals and have some interesting conversations.
Every aspect of this unbelievable wilderness was amazing. The nights in the tents were contrary to our expectations very comfortable and 10 days without internet, phone connection and electricity were great. Thanks to our great camp team and cook, for making us enjoy the times in camp with great comfort.
Thank you for this dream trip through the north of Botswana.

Amazing Botswana Tour
I had an amazing time traveling through the north of Botswana this summer together with my family/friends and Lucas. It was an absolute dream of mine to visit Botswana and see the unbelieveble nature and wildlife that Botswana has to offer. During our 10 days of safari my expectations were by far exceeded. Lucas was an amazing guide and always knew where to go/stay and how long to wait there. It was impressive and very interesting to hear what he could tell us about basically anything we saw and also how he could answer literally any question we had. He does not only know a lot about the wildlife in Botswana, but was also able to bring all the information across in an understandable and fun way, being able to fully grab your attention (even when talking about topics I myself was not that interested in).
In those 10 days we were able to see so many amazing animals including wild dogs with pups just after hunting an animal, Hyenas also with cubs directly next to our car, Lion cubs, a leopard with its cub and many more animals especially elephants, which we saw every single day (also with baby elephants).
Also when resting during breakfast, dinner or lunch it was always fun to talk with Lucas and learn more about Botswana in general and some differences between Botswana and Germany/Europe.
I would definitely recommend to everybody to book a trip with Lucas, as this was one of the most fun and interesting trips I have been on, but sadly it went by way too fast. If I could I would do a trip with Lucas again anytime.

Excellent!!
My booking for a 10 day Botswana trip was treated with ‘above and beyond’ efficiency and helpfulness
If I were to rate our guide, Lucas, on a scale of 1 to 10, well let’s just say that he’s off the scale! A more knowledgeable, personable, interesting and versatile guide would be hard to find!
The camp staff were a great team working together with Lucas and the fabulous bush chef. Everything they offered, from the great food every day to the smallest tasks for guests was done with a smile and nothing was too much trouble!
My meal request was no red meat and the variety of food prepared not only for me but everyone, was fantastic!
I thought the vehicle was comfy considering how much time we spent in it! Overall the game viewing experience for me was fantastic and beyond expectations!
I left vowing to go back as soon as possible!
5 Star!
We booked a Botswana “Glamping” Safari trip and we were lucky enough to have Lucas as our First Class Guide for the duration of 10 days !
He was incredibly knowledgeable about every species of the animals and the Birdlife that we came across & referenced them in the books he kept in the vehicle so we could learn more about them too . He knew the various animal tracks , feeding habits and everything possible about them . He also made the effort to return to exciting Kill sites and to find animals we might have yet seen.
He had superb knowledge about the amazing tree’s and plants growing in the area as well ,which was special for me .
Lucas was kind , helpful , patient and amazing with the 2 kids we were with on the trip .
Camping was so well organised , individual tents with privacy from one’s neighbours, cute wash areas, hot showers, clothing washed for you when necessary, light in the tents, warm beds with hot water bottles ( used again on the vehicle on cold mornings) and every single meal we had was fantastic with Gin , wine and whiskey if requested. We even had a delicious Birthday cake arranged for 2 of our Team ladies.
Lucas was organised and efficient at the Border Posts & aware of any danger at night from roaming animals and at picnic spots.
I would highly recommend Lucas , he made our trip a Bucket List Safari holiday and one to be remembered forever !

Botswana - a Trip of a Lifetime
We actually did this safari in 2019 with our friends and when Lucas and his team were working through Recreational Equipment Inc in Seattle. The safari was the same as the one shown here. It was a trip of a lifetime for us and our friends. Lucas and his team were outstanding and took care of every need. We are really happy we did a tent safari because you are right out their in the wilds of Botswana.
Lucas and his team were so knowledgable about the wildlife and their habitat that it just added to the experience. We are so happy that Lucas has formed his own tour complany because he has so much to teach others about Botswana. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a real Botswana safari.

Safari Superb!
There can be no better way to observe the wealth of nature, both in the animals and the vast landscape, of Botswana's Okavango Delta than under the guidance of Lucas Tahiti. Lucas uses his local knowledge to reveal the amazing array of wildlife and at times pauses so that you also absorb the stunning landscape. Lucas’ local familiarity of the wildlife allows positioning that allows up-close observation as the animals moved by our station. Aside from the larger animals, the abundant and colorful avifauna makes for birdwatching that is beyond compare – with Lucas providing expert birding knowledge. Lucas provides an amazingly comfortable camp, providing flawless logistics in a pleasant and safe manner. Even with cameras in hand, I found myself at many times putting them down and simply immersing myself in the experience. Lucas can be counted on a well-organized and totally satisfying adventure!

Lucas is a very knowledgeable caring and patient person that made my African Safari dreams come true
I’ve been a nature photographer hobbyist for most of my life. Photographing wildlife in the Okavango Delta had always been a dream of mine. When I finally got my chance to go, I was extremely nervous. Would I even see the animals? And what about the lighting for the perfect picture? Lucas made my dreams come true! Lucas knows the animals! He is there with them so often, he knows where to find them. He was so aware of the lighting on the animals for photography I never had to mention it. He would position the vehicle perfectly to get the shots. He was extremely careful and patient with the animals. And above all, he was patient with me. He always checked with me to make sure I got my shot before leaving a site. I love Lucas!

Best Safari Experience we could have imagined
"We lacked for nothing-comfortable bed in a large stand-up tent, hot water whenever we wanted . . . the cook was a magician who never duplicated a meal. One distinct advantage to a tent safari is that there is no fixed schedule. If we saw something interesting (like witnessing a buffalo kill in progress) we could take our time . . . The entire trip was perfect in that each camp was like a stepping stone to the next. Add in the Lucas, a wildlife photographer himself, always put us into the best position for open shots with the best light."
