Life changing trip with Lucas Tshupo
From the moment Lucas picked us up at the Maun airport until it was (sadly) time to depart, we had the most amazing experiences. Lucas has a deep knowledge of the Botswana territory, wildlife patterns and relationships with the other guides. All of this led to a once-in-a-lifetime interaction with elephants, wildebeest, cheetahs, lions, leopards, giraffes, hyenas, jackals, all kinds of gazelle and antelope, hippos, and far too many birds to mention. I have some phenomenal pictures from this trip that could only have been taken with Lucas's knowledge and patience; he knew where to park the safari vehicle to get the best angles and light. If you are looking to check off a list in a day, this isn't the trip for you. If you want to track cheetah for a couple of hours and see them in their own habitat, doing their own thing, this is DEFINITELY the trip for you. We spent a few hours watching 5 lion cubs playing and their moms hunting and returning. It was life-changing. The accommodations (comfortable tent, bucket shower with plenty of hot water, clean and well-tended pit toilet, comfy beds (!)) worked well and were set up near areas where the animals watered or played. The food was good and plentiful. I highly endorse Lucas as the best guide / photography support in Botswana.

Professional
Botswana has always been our number one bucket list country to visit. Not just because of the wildlife and flora, but the fact that the country, despite being one of the poorest, has managed to maintain a peaceful and democratic society since its independence, which is a credit to the entire population. The people are friendly and warm.
The experience that my wife and I had during our tented safari with Lucas not only reinforced our perception of Botswana but added a totally new dimension. Under guidance of Lucas with his merry band of helpers, Pula (the Chef), Bungi and Antonie, you wouldn’t get better service if you were in a 5-star resort. But we weren’t in a resort; we were witnessing and in a sense being part of the local flora and fauna in its natural habitat which is breathtaking and a beautiful reminder of the cycle of life.
Not just the capabilities of Lucas, but his oneness with nature was an extraordinary experience. Staying in tents, with relatively basic infrastructure compared to what we are used to, in the middle of a game reserve having a drink or meal under the beautiful African sky was mesmerising. Lucas’ love for his country and his work was infectious.
Pula’s cooking with different meals every day was lovely, Bunga and Antonie assisting in every way to make us feel comfortable; it all added to the total experience.

Lucas has a gift for finding animals of most interest to people, highly committed and professional.
Wild for Game Safaris is led by the finest guide one could hope to have. Lucas is highly experienced, very accommodating to his guests, does everything possible to ensure that his guests' expectations are exceeded on every level. He is an accomplished photographer in his own right, and helps his guests get the best possible pictures of their experience. He knows how to track animals, while always ensuring the safety of everyone. He thoroughly explains all aspects of the trip, communicates clearly, provides superior service on every aspect of the safari, and is always helpful, congenial and fun to be with. I cannot say enough about Lucas's competence in everything his does. I'm confident anyone who participates in one of his safaris will not go away disappointed.

Photo safari, that was great. Guide himself, a photographer, knows the area like the back of his han
We, a group of 5 people, were traveling with Lucas in April 2022. From the start I met Lucas as a careful, very experienced guide who was also very concerned about our safety. Even at that He was helpful in finding a so-called 'friendly bush'. you had to.
I don't need to say much about his competence as a guide. From early in the morning, with the best photographer's light, until the beginning of the night, where the best light was also available. Sometimes we even did it Night game drives. We could see the most beautiful sunsets there and taking photos. But the starry sky was also fascinating.
The bush cuisine tasted excellent. Couldn't believe what you can conjure up anything in the bush with these means. We got Always a fresh cake with your coffee in the afternoon. The Accommodations (tents) were well equipped, you have everything you need needs. We were also able to shower every day.
Lucas always tried to do everything to our satisfaction. And that He also succeeded very well. He started trying at night has to explore where, for example, the lion's roar comes from, up to the Communicate with other guides to find out which ones are where animals are. He is very well connected there. This meant we could also have one See a variety of animals. Starting with 6 leopards, 2 even with hers Cubs, lionesses and of course hippos, giraffes, zebras, eagles etc. But the little residents also received a lot of attention gifted. He knew many of them that way, the rest were looked for together in the book.
Since he takes photographs himself, he knows exactly how to deal with his The vehicle has to be positioned to get the best view and the right incidence of light to find. If I came to Botswana again I would come back Book Lucas as a guide. I can only help anyone who wants to live something like that recommend. This is pure Africa.

Lucas was easygoing, fun, and above all profoundly skilled as a guide and naturalist.
Lucas Tshupo has made it his craft to share the wonders of the Okavango with his guests. He is very, very good at it. He has spent his life around the Okavango delta, and it shows. He seems to have an instinctual sixth sense regarding wildlife behavior. As we spent more time with him in the bush, it became clear that this is the well-earned reward of a lifetime of paying sharp attention to the patterns & rhythms of Botswana wildlife.
One late afternoon in Khwai Conservancy, we saw a young adult leopard that Lucas seemed to think was traveling with her mother. In a low whisper, he quickly explained several details about her behavior and stature (details which were barely visible to us) while the few other trucks that had been following this individual left the area. After a few minutes, Lucas was proven right: In the setting sun’s golden light, we watched a mother leopard appear, greet her adolescent daughter with casual enthusiasm, and wander off as a pair into the bush.
Throughout the safari, Lucas fluently and engagingly shared his comprehensive knowledge of local ecology with us. He knew every bird, tree, and insect we came across, and we felt that we were receiving a world-class education from a truly gifted teacher on the intricacies of the Botswana savanna. Many of our most treasured memories in the Delta could only have been found with his expertise – experiences ranging from captivatingly intimate to truly awesome.
Lucas is also uncannily sensitive to the needs of his guests. He was effortlessly perceptive of the energy levels of every individual in the group, seamlessly making adjustments to accommodate everyone. He knew how to make everyone feel comfortable and safe, even in austere environments. By the end of our trip, Lucas had made everyone in our group feel like family. We felt almost as if we belonged there, that the awe-inspiring natural splendor of Africa was a home away from home. When we return, we know who to call.

Best Botswana Safari
My wife and I went on safari with Lucas and his crew back in August 2021, and it was without question one of the best things we have ever done. We can't speak highly enough of Lucas. His passion for wildlife and conservation is second to none, and because he is an amazing photographer himself, he always stops at exactly the right spots and angles for you to get stunning pictures of the wildlife. He also excelled at providing a personalized experience for everyone in the group; some people wanted to see birds, others wanted the big game, one person even wanted to see bush babies. Lucas informed them that bush babies would be tough to spot, but he would do his best.. Lo and behold, Lucas found her some bush babies in an evening drive!! It was an absolutely amazing experience.
In addition to his exceptional safari guide skills, he is an amazing person to be around, genuinely funny and charismatic! I cannot recommend Lucas enough, and the bush camping safari provides a way to see the animals up close and personal that a traditional safari camp can't provide. The accommodations were perfect and the food was awesome, especially considering the limited equipment that the chef has to work with!
We thought that this trip was our once in a lifetime trip, but it was so amazing that we will definitely be back to see Lucas!!
Thanks Lucas,
Alex and Taylor

An amazing experience with a knowledgeable guide and a great team
This trip was everything I wanted. Lucas and his team put together an amazing experience with great wildlife viewing, comfortable tents, delicious meals, and wonderful hospitality. Lucas, the owner and our guide, is deeply knowledgeable and offered clear, thoughtful interpretation of what we were seeing. He is clearly passionate about providing a first-rate experience, and we felt we were in good hands from beginning to end. For photographers like me, he was attentive to lighting and scene composition, often putting us at just the right spot for a great shot. The tents are spacious and the bedding is warm, and we enjoyed staying in camps amidst the wildlife. Food was plentiful and delicious, and I appreciated that all food and drinks (including beer, wine, and G&Ts) were included in the price (many tours charge extra for drinks and exclude some meals). I will definitely call on Lucas again when I go back to Botswana.

Best Safari Ever!
Lucas was absolutely incredible from start to finish. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with and made preparing for the safari so easy by sharing lots of really useful tips including a packing list. The safari itself actually exceeded my expectations (and I had relatively high expectations of Botswana)! Our safari vehicle was much better than any others we saw on safari. It's got some great modifications which make it perfect for photography! Plus, Lucas' team was fantastic. Our chef, Mosa, was a culinary genius and his food was so delicious. The rest of the team really went out of their way to ensure we had a comfortable time mobile camping. The tents were also fantastic with comfy beds. Onto the safari, Lucas is an exceptional guide. He knows everything about the flora and fauna of Botswana and is really fantastic at tracking and understanding their behaviour. We saw every animal that we wished to see and more. My wish-list was wild dogs and leopards and we had incredible sightings of both! Wild For Game Safaris was absolutely amazing and I'd feel confident recommending them to anyone who wishes to go on safari in Botswana. I can't wait to come back and go on another safari with Lucas!
