Great organisation and a lifetime experience
Our 8 day safari was well planned and we enjoyed every second of it! Our driver Alex did a great job, he always knew where the animals were and tried to get our vehicle in the best position for a nice view!

Professional, organized, friendly and doing everything to make the trip the best experience!
We first contacted several companies and the offer of Splendid was the best. Their website and presentation were the best we saw. We then booked with them. After booking, we realized we (on our side) made a small mistake and we had an extra day. But Splendid was very accommodating and made new arrangements for us. Before they gave us several options and together we decided on the best one.
Before arrival they asked us for our flight information to meet us on time. We were then met by James and John. John was our driver and tour guide for the whole trip and he was just amazing. He made sure that we see as many animals as possible during the safari. He knew all the places where animals were staying. He always answered all of our questions. John was always friendly and we had good laughs. The hotels that were selected by Splendid were very, very good. We stayed in four different hotels and all of them were amazing.
We would definitely recommend Splendid to anyone who wants to have a fantastic safari experience!

Excellent, efficient, supportive
From our first contact to our return home, our booking agent & tour coordinator, James Kilorit, was super responsive, informative, caring in his communication and guidance. From our booking to his checking in about how our experiences were coming along to our arrival home, James treated us like family in his attentiveness.
James connected us with a driver, Willy Musau, who picked us up at our hotel promptly. Over the 5 days he was with us Willy was a top gun driver. We covered a lot of territory and he was well connected with all the other drivers - who clearly respected and enjoyed him - receiving input by phone and shortwave about where various animals could be found and tracked them. He was determined to expose us to as many species as possible. He was knowledgeable about the animals including some of the specific individual animals on various reserves.
Entim at Masai Mara was a mind blowing wonderful experience, we met some of the kindest people we came to know among the Masai there and at the Serena at Amboseli.
Sorry, this is becoming an essay. In short, beautiful country, people, experiences. Go with an open heart, surrender to serendipity. We loved our experience so much and Splendid Vacations delivered beyond our hopes

Clarity, customization, responsiveness
Had a 3 nights tour in Nairobi-Masai Mara, with stay in a hotel in city centre in Nairobi and lodge in Mara North, several safari drives (half day in conservancy, full day in Masai Mara, walking safari) and tour to some key attractions (giraffe center, elephant orphanage)
Splendid Vacations with Rachael was very available from the beginning to customize our tour and keep it in line to our needs / budgets, finding the best possible options; proposal was indeed very custom made, and accompanied by all necessary details and info; once on the ground, Julius and Simon took us around on time / being at the right place when expected.

A truly “splendid” safari tour :)
This safari tour has become an irreplaceable memory for our lives. To be honest, it was our first time in Kenya, so we were very worried, but there were no problems. All the hotels we stayed at were hygienic and the food was delicious, some hotels had amazing views. I got sick one day, but a nurse was always there, and even though it was early in the morning, she arranged for me to see her and get some medicine right away, so I recovered quickly. The safari tour was so much fun that I can’t put it into words, we were able to see a lot of animals up close. I never thought I would be able to see the world of the Lion King in real life.
Our consultant, Alice, was always very prompt and polite from the beginning of the inquiry to the end of the trip. She responded sincerely to our requests for many adjustments, honestly told us when our thoughts were a disadvantage, and made a detailed plan to make it better for us even. The only disappointing thing about this trip is that I wasn't able to thank her directly. Our driver, Alex, welcomed us with a smile that blew away our worries about our first safari at the airport, and did his best to help us see as many animals as possible up close. I told him at the airport that I love rhinos, and he gave me the best experience at Ol Pejata(you can see in the photo) . He also answered all my many questions (not only about the animals, but also about Kenya and Africa) and was many learnings.
I would definitely go on a safari again. and I strongly recommend people to use Splendid as they will for sure make your trip splendid!

Enjoyable, well planned, excellent
We went for a 5 days trip, from Nairobi - Lake Naivasha - Lake Nakuru - Masai Mara - Nairobi. We booked our trip about half year early. James, our planner was very friendly and responsive to all my requests. I made some extra requests for one of the hotel sitting because I wanted to propose to my gf. And it was well planned and I am very happy with it. The whole trip was excellent. We saw a lot of animals. All the big fives and ugly fives. Our guide Willy was excellent on finding animals. The only part that we have small complain is when we visited the Hells Gate, we had a bike ride which was very tiring, you need to ride about 10 miles in total and also include an half hour climbing in between, if you also going for the bike ride make sure to be prepared. But overall the trip was excellent, we enjoyed a lot.

Unforgettable Safari Experience with James in Masai Mara
Our safari in the Masai Mara with James was nothing short of spectacular. James is an incredibly experienced guide, and his deep knowledge of the wildlife and landscape made this adventure truly unforgettable.
One of the highlights of our trip was spotting a magnificent leopard, something that not every safari-goer gets to experience. We also saw plenty of lions, cheetahs, and herds of majestic elephants, all up close in their natural habitat. James knew exactly where to go and how to position the vehicle for the best viewing and photography opportunities.
Another incredible experience was the walking safari with Rob, the ranger. Exploring the African savannah on foot, learning about the smaller details of the ecosystem, and feeling the raw beauty of nature from a different perspective was truly special.
If you're looking for a top-notch safari experience with an expert guide, I can highly recommend James. His passion, expertise, and ability to create a once-in-a-lifetime adventure make him stand out. We couldn’t have asked for a better safari!

Well planned and thought out trip, but underestimated travel times
We had a great time booking through Splendid! Our guide Mwololo was attentive, experienced and kind, and really helped us relax and get into the safari spirit. We were able to cover 4 national parks and also complete a hike in just 6 days! An added bonus was seeing all of the big 5 which I cannot thank Mwololo and splendid enough for. The trip was designed perfectly to our budget and personalised requests, the accommodations were all clean and safe and comfortable, and everywhere we went the people were so friendly! We would definitely use splendid again. The only complaint we had was the driving times between parks was underestimated for pretty much all the drives, so we spent more time commuting than we had anticipated.

I was a solo traveler from USA and skeptical on booking this trip due to new country/continent and new people. My assistant was Rachael. She was amazing throughout the journey by staying in touch the entire trip and before with my itinerary/planning. I would definitely recommend if you are planning for Africa.
What went well:
1. Drafting my itinerary with rates.
2. Resort selections and services were excellent. Rachael understood my requirements well and provided best resorts.
3. Great tour guides with punctuality and knowledge about area.
4. Vehicles provided were in good condition
Learnings: Something that I learnt and would like to pass.
1. If you are vegetarian, do carry some food for the trip. I carried some dry snacks and food for game drives because I like snacking while having fun in forest.
2. Plan well and share your interests about which location is important for you. The park passes are on day/hourly basis. If you are looking to spend more time in one park, say, Ngorongoro crater you may have to check-in late at the entrance. Something that you should talk before making bookings and tour guide will guide you according to your interests.
3. Climate could be harsh, so plan your trip likewise. I generally travel places in shoulder months to avoid tourist crowd. It worked well for me in Feb.
4. Plan you day ahead with your driver/travel guide to make best use of your day and places you want to cover.
