Unforgettable and Magical Safari with Eagle-Eyed Johny Jackson
Our safari was nothing short of spectacular, and so much of that magic came down to our guide, Johny Jackson. With eyes like an eagle, he spotted wildlife we would have missed entirely—from the majestic Big Five to the charmingly homely Ugly Five. But the absolute crown jewel? Witnessing the dramatic river crossing—the famed "Mara River Migration"—up close, thanks to Johny’s perfect timing and expert positioning. His knowledge, patience, and passion made every game drive feel like a discovery. I highly recommend him and this safari. A once-in-a-lifetime experience made truly unforgettable.

Amazing Safari Experience

Fantastic safari experience with reliable, thoughtful service in Kenya
We had an absolutely wonderful safari trip with Jungleroam Safaris across Kenya. The communication was responsive and clear throughout the whole booking and traveling process. Our guide Elias was very knowledgeable about wildlife, great at spotting animals, and always made sure we were comfortable. All arrangements including hotels, transportation and daily safari drives went smoothly. Great value for money, we would highly recommend this operator to anyone planning a Kenya safari.

This safari was, without a doubt, one of the best experiences of our lives! A huge part of what made it so unforgettable was our incredible driver-guide, Jacob. We honestly felt like he had a sixth sense for the savannah! He always knew exactly where to take us. Thanks to him, we witnessed some truly breathtaking moments that we will remember forever. Excellent Safari experience in Samburu, Hell’s Gate and Masai Mara
We had an amazing 7-day Safari Tour with Jungleroam and Koush as our guide.
We came from Mount Kenia and it was no problem that Koush brought our big suitcases from Nairobi and picked us up in Chogoria before we went to Samburu National Park as our first stop. We had 2 days of safari game drives and saw all of the Samburu fives there as well as lions and their cubs, a leopard, a cheetah and a lot of giraffes, zebras and elephants. We went swimming in the natural pool and enjoyed our breakfasts one time on a hill with a really nice view of the landscape and the other time at the river. The most exciting moment was when we observed the cheetah and her cub and Koush recognized that they are heading in the direction of the lions. Koush alerted the other guides and we tried to chase the cheetah and her cub in another direction. Nevertheless one of the lions spotted the cheetah and her cub and tried to hunt them. Together with the other guides we chased the lion away and the cheetah and her cub escaped safely.
From Samburu we headed to Lake Naivasha where Koush organized a hippo boat cruise for us and we visited crescent island for a walking safari. One of my personal highlights was the cycling safari in Hell’s Gate Nationalpark. I really enjoyed the landscape, the gorge and being so close to the animals.
From Hell’s Gate we continued to Masai Mara Nationalpark for another 2 full days of safari game drives. Here we saw many lions, cheetahs, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, elephants, and the big migration of the wild beasts and zebras. Everyday we started very early, came back late and enjoyed the breakfasts as well as the lunches in the bush. Thus, we really made the most of the days and had time to not just take pictures of the animals but also to observe them for a while. We saw lions mating, were waiting for the crossing and observed a cheetah, lions, hyenas and vultures eating.
Koush is a really great guide, he always took good care of us and wanted us to have the best experience. He knows all the animals and parks perfectly, he knows where the animals are and how they behave. Koush is very patient while we observed the animals together and with answering all our questions. Koush is a good driver, always positioned the car perfectly so that we had the perfect views of the animals, the sunrises and sunsets and we visited a lot places reverse to others people so that we often had the places exclusive for us. Koush has a great humor, we had a lot of fun together and he made the experience also outside the game drives very special for us. For example Koush bought local fruits and roasted corncobs for us and we were singing kenian songs in the car together. A very special surprise was a cake that he organized for my birthday and the Masai Shukas that we got as a present.
The whole tour was perfectly organized and went without any issues. I highly recommend Jungleroam as a tour agency and Koush as a tour guide and would choose them every time again.

An unforgettable safari with a guide (Kush) who truly goes the extra mile
We had an amazing 7-day private safari with Kush from JungleRoam, visiting Samburu, Hell’s Gate and the Masai Mara, and could not have asked for a better experience. A huge part of that was our guide, Kush, who really was the definition of going the extra mile.
From the beginning, Kush did everything he could to help us get the absolute maximum out of our safari. We usually entered the parks as early as possible and stayed until the last possible minute. He planned the routing extremely well, making sure we arrived and left at the right times, and was always flexible in adapting the days to what we wanted to see.
What we especially appreciated was that it never felt like we were simply ticking animals off a checklist. Kush regularly asked us what we were interested in and gave us plenty of time to actually observe the animals and their behaviour instead of immediately rushing to the next sighting. His passion for wildlife was obvious. He explained the animals, their behaviour and the environment in great detail, and you could really see how much he cares about them.
One particularly intense moment in Samburu showed us just how much he cares. We were watching a cheetah with its cub when it suddenly started walking towards a group of lions. One of the lions spotted the cheetah and immediately began chasing it. Everything happened incredibly quickly. Kush instantly got in touch with the other vehicles around us and helped coordinate an intervention to separate the lion and the cheetah. It was a very intense experience to witness, and his quick reaction may well have saved the cheetah’s life. Given how vulnerable cheetah populations are, we greatly appreciated how seriously Kush took the situation and how quickly he acted.
He was also constantly scanning for wildlife and somehow seemed to spot animals everywhere. Whenever there was an interesting sighting, he gave everything to get us into a good position, often before many of the other vehicles arrived. During the week we saw lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, crocodiles, hippos, ostriches, vultures, lots of different gazelles and all of the Samburu Special Five.
We were also lucky enough to experience some really memorable moments, including predators feeding on their kill, lions mating and warthogs with tiny piglets.
For anyone interested in photography, he is an excellent guide as well. He regularly gave us tips, positioned the Land Cruiser so we had the best possible light at sunrise and sunset, adjusted the vehicle whenever the animals moved, and anticipated where they were likely to go next. On several occasions this meant we had exactly the right angle when, for example, a lion suddenly turned or started walking towards us.
The three parks also complemented each other really well. Samburu gave us the arid landscapes and the Samburu Special Five, Hell’s Gate was completely different with the cycling safari, and the Masai Mara was incredible for the big cats. We genuinely enjoyed all three rather than feeling that one was just included as a stop on the way to another.
Our private Land Cruiser for the two of us was clean, spacious and very well equipped. There were power ports, a good pop-up roof, reclining seats, plenty of drinking water, picnic blankets and camping chairs. Kush also consistently found great places inside the parks for breakfast and lunch, which made the game-drive days even more enjoyable.
And despite the long days, there was never a shortage of entertainment. Kush was constantly joking and made us laugh throughout the week. If you appreciate sarcasm, he is definitely your guy.
The only small thing we think JungleRoam could improve is Payment option. It was either in cash or by online transfer with an additional 5% surcharge, neither of which is particularly convenient for a safari of this value. It would be great to have an easier card/payment option without such a high surcharge.
Thats only a minor point compared with what was an exceptional safari. Kush put an enormous amount of effort into making the seven days special for us, and it genuinely felt like he cared about us having the best possible experience rather than simply completing an itinerary.
We would absolutely recommend JungleRoam, and especially Kush. If we were to do another safari in Kenya, we would happily book with them again - and would definitely ask for Kush as our guide. Thanks, Kush for making us feel like family.

An amazing experience from start to finish!
Amazing experience with Jungleroam Safaris! Everything was very well planned and organized, from the timing and transportation to the meals and the tour itself. The food was good, and the whole experience was smooth and reliable. The value for money is excellent, making Jungleroam Safaris a great option.
The safari itself was fantastic! We had the opportunity to see the Big Five and many other animals, while having plenty of time to stop and take photos and videos. It was an unforgettable experience, and I would definitely recommend Jungleroam Safaris to other travelers.
A special mention to Tribon, our guide, who was absolutely great throughout the safari. He was very attentive and genuinely cared about making sure we had the best experience possible. He shared a lot of interesting information about the animals, their behavior, and the landscapes around us, which made the safari even more enjoyable and educational. We really appreciated his knowledge, kindness, and dedication.
