Am amazing experience with an excellent guide at a great price.
5/5

We absolutely loved our safari experience with Reteti! They arranged everything from pickup at the airport to the extra night at an airport hotel (since our flight landed in the evening) all the way through to drop-off at the airport when we were done.

Kim was great to work with over email, responded quickly when we had questions, and we ended up meeting him at the end of the trip as well which was fun. Bernard, or driver for the full trip, was excellent at finding where the action was happening, and in our few days got us to see a cheetah hunting/ chasing antelope, multiple elephant families crossing right in front of us, close up lions, etc, etc.

The lodgings themselves far exceeded our expectations - legitimately felt like 4 to 5 star resorts the the states. The food was also fantastic, and was usually buffet style. I've admittedly never been on a cruise but it felt like how people describe them in terms of the level of hospitality and great food. Maybe someday I'll go and I can update this review with a first hand comparison. Overall it was simply fantastic, and we'd love to go again.

Would strongly recommend, 10/10.

The two main things I was concerned about:
- Pesapal (what we paid through) is a payment system you've probably never heard of unless you're from East Africa or have traveled there before. I did some searching and it passed my personal checks, so I went ahead and paid (using my favorite card that I trust completely), and it was obviously all fine, Reteti got the payment, and here we are a week after the trip. Once we got there, sure enough, I saw pesapal signs at most of the resorts, etc. So that was all fine.

- The Nairobi airport has two spots where people seemed to be picking up passengers. The first one was before passport control, and there were only a few there (not sure how they got behind security). Bernard was waiting for us with most of the other guides outside security, right as we excited the airport. I'd expect that to be the same for anyone else, so you go through passport control and customs, then come out and find him. So don't worry if you see people with signs right when you get off the plane and your name isn't there - your driver will most likely be waiting just outside the airport.

Perfect Safari to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru
5/5

I can recommend Reteti Safari in any case. We have been to Masai Mara and Lake Nakuru. The organisation was perfect and we had a super competent and friendly driver. We could see so many animals, even the big five. It was so amazing. Also the office took care before, during and also after the safari. Called because of missing luggage and helped us with the further transport. Thanks a lot!!!

Fantastic Trip - Top Level Care and Concern for Detail
5/5

We were thrilled with our Safari adventure. Catherine from Reteti was the perfect tour manager. She met us at the airport and made sure all of our questions were answered and we were safely in the hands of our driver Bernard. She followed up with us at the end of the trip to make sure all of our expectations had been met.

Our driver Bernard was fantastic! He has a great sense for where the animals will be and is very skilled at getting the jeep in for best view. He knows when to wait and when to move on! In only two days we saw lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, topis, warthogs, antelope, monkeys, gazelles, impalas, alligators, hartbeasts, and more. One highlight was seeing a cheetah take down a thompson gazelle! We know they can't guarantee the animals, but the drivers do all work together to track the movement across the plains.

We stayed at the Mtito camp and felt it was an excellent value. The service was very personal and the chef delighted us with beautifully presented four course meals each night. The staff was very friendly and responsive. The "tent camp" added to the wilderness experience of being in a tent, but it is large and has high ceilings, shower, etc. for a very pleasant stay. The camp is just 10 minutes outside the park and there are actually some advantages in cost for not staying in the park.

We chose the tent camp because it came recommended to us, and was friendlier to our budget, but Kim & Catherine from Reteti can find any kind of accommodations you desire. Give them a call, they'll take good care of you!
