Travel with the knowledge and experienc of the locals!
I traveled with 13 friends to Moshi, Tanzania and climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with Elias as our lead guide. He was calm, professional and informed! His expertise gave everyone a sense of safety and he helped us fulfill our dream of climbing Africa's hightest peak. The oldest member of our group was in his sixties, and our youngest was only fourteen. Elias was adept at communicating with all age groups and would be an asset to any trip.
We carried our own daypacks, but Ellias's professional team went ahead with our camping gear and food. They set up and broke down our campsite efficiently each day. The morning "eggies" were delicious, and hot popcorn was my favorite snack. All the meals were tasty and filling. We felt well looked after on the mountain. I highly recommend Tanzania Elsewhere Adventures and Safaris!

Exceptional guiding not only allowed us to summit, but have a good experience!
We did a 10 day climb to the top of Kili in 2007. Elias was our guide at the time and we not only made it to the top, but had a wonderful time doing it (as wonderful as expedition climbing can be). We were scheduled to camp in the crater the night before summiting, making for a quick summit the next morning. However, a cold front was coming through and Elias had been paying attention. He changed our plan and we camped at base camp instead. We had to get up at 1am and it was a super long day making it to the summit and then all the way back down in 1 long day. It was brutal for sure. However, when we got to the summit we had good weather for just about an hour, being able to see not only all the glaciers but also all the way down to the valley floor for hundreds of miles. When we got back to the hotel, we heard a number of other groups that were in front and behind us. Not only were we the only ones who were there for good weather, but we heard numerous nightmare stories from those who camped in the crater when the front came through. One group was delayed getting started by over an hour when one of the climbers accidentally froze his butt to the toilet seat and they had to figure out how to get him off it. At base camp in our tent it was around 0-5 degrees F. But we heard from those who camped in the crater that it got down to -20F and the wind made it even more miserable. Elias' judgement on accommodating our group and adapting to the weather made all the difference in the world. Elias genuinely cares for his clients. It has been 17 years since we climbed with Elias and over that time we have valued his friendship. Though we have not climbed with him again, we have been back 2 more times and made visiting with Elias part of our trips. We cannot say enough good things about him and we are super happy to see him finally start his own company.

Elias, the lead guide, had a good feel for adventure and for his clients' individual needs.
For our group, it was the first big mountain for everyone. Our guides gave us confidence and kept us on pace. They previewed each day's hike so that we were prepared mentally. Camps were clean and neat and the food was much better than expected. The guides helped us deal with the inevitable unexpected challenges. And, very importantly, they kept it fun.

This team know what they are doing.
Elias and his team are amazing. The climb of the Kilimanjaro was my first big adventure, and everything was above my expectations from the beginning to the end. The equipment that I rented was first quality, the food was great. The guides and porters are experienced and will treat you like royalty. Tanzania Elsewhere will do anything for your comfort and making sure you reach the summit safely. This was one of the best experiences of my life.

Tackling Kilimanjaro with Tanzania Elsewhere
Tackling Kilimanjaro with Tanzania Elsewhere was a blast! The team was top-notch, keeping us safe, feeding us like royalty, and sharing cool facts about the mountain that made the whole experience really special. It was awesome how they turned the climb into something more than just a hike—it felt like we were part of a big, fun family, with nightly celebrations that brought everyone closer. The thoughtful touches, like showers in the wild, were just the cherry on top. Honestly, this trip was all about the little things done with a lot of heart and expertise. If you're thinking of climbing Kilimanjaro, these are the folks to go with.

Elias is professional, friendly and exceeded safari expectations.
My friend and I were visiting Kilimanjaro for a compressed period of time and booked a one day safari to the Ngorongoro Crater through Tanzania Elsewhere - it was important that we felt safe as we were two women travelling. We were picked up at our hotel (Bristol Cottages) at 4:30 a.m. and our adventure began. We had a brief orientation session in the truck, and stopped a couple of times on the way for restroom stops (all very clean) and for coffee at Africangalleriatz.com souvenir/gift shop close to the crater. Beautiful, lush scenery along the way, and our guide Elias kept us entertained pointing out various sites of interest and animals along the way to the crater. At the entrance to the Loduare Gate, we were once again offered the opportunity to visit the very clean restrooms - best to keep your safari truck closed, as the baboons are sneaky and one popped into our truck and successfully made off with a peanut butter and honey sandwich ... and cheekily ate it while staring at us from his rock. We were dressed for the trip, and had remembered our buffs, so we could manage some of the dustier and bumpier aspects of the road up to the crater entrance. We toured for almost five hours, stopped for a delicious picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool - we saw elephants, baby elephants, flamingos, lots of hippos (some resting on the ground, others in the pool), ostriches, hyena, zebras, wildebeest. The biggest surprise of all, was when we turned a corner and a small herd of elephants were so close to us - magnificent to see. We didn't see lions, but were advised by our guide that the lions hadn't been seen in past few weeks - we made it back to our hotel dusty and happy by about 8 p.m. and drove through some busy evening markets in various communities along the way. A long day, but oh so satisfying and excellent customer service from Tanzania Elsewhere Safaris

Excellent!
My tour with Tanzania Elsewhere was the best tour of my life. It was professionally run. We were well taken care of throughout the whole climb. I actually felt bad, because they did so much for us. Like carrying all of our gear and setting up our tents everyday and feeding us delicious meals. I would highly recommend this company if you are considering climbing Kilimanjaro.

The team at Elsewher Adventures, a local operator, was friendly, hospitable and professional.
Elsewhere Adventures - A Seamless and Memorable Adventure
Our recent adventure with Elsewhere Adventures was nothing short of fantastic. The entire experience was well-organized, professional, and truly enjoyable. From the moment we landed, the team made sure everything ran smoothly. The pick-up and drop-off at the airport worked out seamlessly, even though my partner and I arrived at different airports. It was uncomplicated and hassle-free, setting a positive tone right from the start.
Edgar was highly competent in organizing the trip, both in the lead-up and on the ground. Justo, with his warm smile and decades of experience, welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at ease on the climb. Andrew, another guide, brought a calm and professional presence, making the journey even more enjoyable.
One of the highlights was when we made a last-minute request to visit a Maasai village. The team managed to organize everything with less than a day’s notice, which was truly impressive. They arranged a driver, provided lunch packages, and coordinated our transfer to the airport afterward. This flexibility and ability to accommodate spontaneous requests really showcased the advantages of working with a local tour provider who is well-connected and adaptable.
Though we faced some technical challenges with initial communication due to internet issues, this didn’t cause any major problems. In terms of cost, Elsewhere Adventures offered excellent value for money compared to other providers. Despite being a more economical option, the services were on par with the best, and no corners were cut. We were treated to 3-course meals every day, a luxury we didn’t expect on a mountain expedition. The only thing we would ask to change for our next trip would be to provide slightly thicker mattresses. However, this could also be a personal preference.
All in all, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Elsewhere Adventures delivered exceptional service, and their friendly, knowledgeable team made the trip unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a well-organized and authentic adventure!

Kind, supportive and great vibes!
Really enjoyed this tour. I was impressed by the overall experience and something I will think about for many years to come. Overall, great value for money and great team. I think what is key with doing a tour like this, is that the team overall have a positive, can-do and fun attitude. They were so supportive, so helpful and so kind, without them I can't imagine summiting. My friend and I were very impressed with the attentive nature of the team - we were given cleaning water every morning and evening, 3 meals and drinks everyday - something I really did not expect (food was great and generous portions). Think sleeping was a bit tough due to the mattresses, and sleeping bags were a bit tight, but beyond that was really fun.
Glad I learnt the real meaning of Pole, Pole along the way! Thanks Elsewhere!
