Life Altering Experience
I contacted Compass Oydessy as an afterthought. I had booked a 3 night safari in Kruger Park at the Senalala Safari camp, and wanted to perhaps see a bit more of Southern Africa before I made my long awaited journey to the Cape Winelands. The trip planned for me turned out to be the highlight of my trip, and has changed my perspective on life and what I want out of it. Being able to observe wildlife up close on the Chobe River made me think of things in a totally different light when I considered my life back home. Mortimer and his wife were excellent guides to Vic Falls and they handled all the transportation and visa issues which would have been a bit stressful for me had undertaken to do them myself. I would highly recommend using Compass to anyone who is interested in exploring the magic of Africa.

the most amazing trip ever ....thanks to compass odyssey and their affilates
We are so extremely grateful to the owner (Darren) of Compass Odyssey for the non stop excellence we experienced for the moment we started the booking process to lifting off on our return flight back to the United States. Every guide-in country flight-transportation and lodging exceeded our wildest dreams. I cant say enough about this trip and the wonderful treatment and eye on every detail we had the pleasure to experience.
Every detail has been thought out prior to your arrival and the guides could not have been more knowable and so pleasurable to be around. the luxury accommodations for great and our Safari experience was nothing short of amazing. We would highly recommend Compass Odyssey to anyone with impeccable taste seeking the most wonderful time of their lives. Thanks again Compass Odyssey -we will alway be grateful for such a fantastic trip.

Top notch company all the way!
I really can't say enough about our amazing experience with Compass Odyssey. We found them by chance searching the internet and were impressed with their reviews. I submitted an inquiry and immediately found out why they were so well reviewed. I'll try and be brief but here is why they are so great: Extremely responsive (so important with this type of business), flexible to your needs, easy to understand, comprehensive, well organized, well informed, and friendly/ easy to work with. Through the whole process we worked with Darren and Kate, not a random operator in a call center or office, so the whole experience felt very personalized.
We were impressed with the well organized, cleanly laid out, thorough, itineraries we were provided with. This alleviated any travel stress and made the journey a real pleasure. We also enjoyed the informative .pdfs we were given for different areas of our trip (Jo'Burg, Vic Falls, Cape Town etc.). I can 110% recommend working with them. In fact, I have family that are considering a trip to South Africa and I am insisting they work with Compass Odyssey! If you're looking for the trip of a lifetime you should too!

Excellent 25th Anniversary Trip
We really wanted a special and fun vacation that was in the South Africa area. We were not interested in joining a large tour group but also were a bit intimidated by trying to make all the arrangement ourselves. Contacting Compass Odyssey was the best decision we made. Darren was immediately helpful in suggesting itineraries and answering questions. We got to a plan quite quickly and then we just excitedly waited. Out Trip was to Kruger/Senalala and then Cape Town and then 2 places in Botswana (Okavango/RraDinare and finally Chobe/Pangolin Voyager Houseboat). Everything was a highlight and everything was nice in relationship to the other pieces. We would not change anything. We actually had a glitch on our flight getting into Johannesburg and it was so nice to send just 1 email to Darren and have everything taken care of to match our new arrival. Top notch all the way.

Great experience of Southern Africa.
Never having visited Africa before, we went for the organized tour option. We are very glad we did!
We felt very well taken care of, being picked up on time every day and at every spot. Everyone were really friendly and helpful without overdoing it -just the way we like it!
Our tour included all sights around Capetown, Senalala luxury safari camp, Victoria falls, Garden lodge in Chobe and Rra Dinare in Okawango Delta.
We loved going on the safaris, really a great experience all the way. Especially at Senalala and Rra Dinare, which felt a bit more in the wilderness and with less crowds of tourists than Chobe to be honest.
I would recommend anyone visiting Southern Africa to use Compass Odyssey to organize their trip. We had a wonderful experience all the way but we'd suggest that you bring some seasick-pills for the flight into Okawango Delta. Especially if you fly in from Chobe, that was one long, humpy trip!

Compass Odyssey fulfilled our every wish on this African adventure of a lifetime.
My adult son and I just returned from a 20 day trip to Namibia, Botswana, Cape Town and Victoria Falls organized by Compass Odyssey. From the first time I contacted Darren, the owner, over a year and a half ago, he continually and patiently answered my endless questions and offered invaluable advice as he planned this trip of a lifetime for us. Looking back, I am astounded by his insight into our African dream, as each experience was unique, extraordinary and built upon the previous one. Each detail was meticulously planned so that the trip flowed without a glitch. Most importantly, we felt extremely safe at all times due to the expertise of the guides and the carefully selected accommodation. I highly recommend Compass Odyssey as a company that will make a determined effort to accommodate your every wish.

A most memorable trip exceeding all expectations!
I travelled for the first time in my life to Africa. I used the services of Kate and Darren at Compass Odyssey based on the recommendation of a family member. I went to JoBurg, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Kruger, and Cape Town. Every single aspect of my trip went flawlessly. I was always met at the airports by a driver or a guide as soon as I got off the plane. The accommodations chosen were just great, activities planned in the cities were most interesting, and of course the safaris were spectacular. A big recommendation goes out for the Senalala Luxury Safari Resort in Kruger and also the Dinare Camp in Botswana. Wonderful accommodations and hosts made for a great stay, and some wonderful viewing of all of the animals. Dealing with Kate and Darren is a pure delight and you make your safari with the fullest confidence.
