Fabulous Experience
This trip was booked 3 times before it finally happened thanks to the pandemic and border closures etc. Alice from Discover Africa was with us for the entire 3 years - from planning, cancelling, and rebooking. She stayed in touch and communicated with us regularly during the entire 3 years. Her insights and suggestions helped make this trip one that will be very difficult to top.
In terms of the actual holiday ... Words fail me! Someone was watching out for us because we had multiple sightings of the Big 5, Magnificent 7 and Super 8 plus all of the other animals - small (mouse) to big (elephant). Pretty special when you consider that includes two sightings of Wild Dogs when there are only circa 400 in total in Kruger! I appreciate that's completely outside of anyone's control but worth mentioning. Going in September meant that the bush wasn't at full height, so we were able to see the animals.
The lodges were great - Thornybush and Jock's Safari Lodge They were luxurious without being pretentious. We were well taken care of and well fed! Gallo Manor Lodge in Johannesburg was very comfortable, and we were well taken care of again - the Director, Angel, chauffeured us to and from the golf course which was unexpected and very kind.
This holiday combined golf with safaris. The golf was good too. Hans Merensky course is well laid out and an interesting course to play. It does need some investment (as well as the hotel). Leopard Creek was an experience! Old world golf club and an interesting course (unfortunately we didn't see any wildlife like we did at Han Merensky). We really enjoyed the Rocklands Course at the Johannesburg Country Club and had a lovely meal afterwards looking over the course.
Thanks to Alice at Discover Africa for putting this holiday together for us.

Absolutely amazing itinerary put together by Matthys and the team. Everything was seamless…
This was a holiday of 3 attempts. Matthys clearly extremely knowledgable, and from experience, about the areas/lodges we visited. The transfers, flights and accommodations were all top notch and nothing went by the wayside. The trip moved seamlessly from SA, through Kruger, Zimbabwe, 3 Botswana lodges and back to Jo’burg. Value for money? Definitely really good quality accommodations and the safari guides were brilliant. We were never crowded into any vehicle we always had plenty of space. The food was amazing and the staff at all establishments were incredibly friendly and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble and they went far and above than they needed too. We loved it so much we are planning to come back in 2024 and do the garden route and some different safari experiences. Missed the Rhino but saw all the other top 4 plus 5 puppy wild dogs/5 adults and 3 leopards. Loads of lions and huge amounts of elephant, bison, water buffalo and numerous other animals. As Annie once said “I’ll be back!”

Seamless trip from start to finish
Susan couldn’t have been more helpful when planning my trip, coming up with different ideas and itineraries to fit my budget and expectations. Communication was excellent, and when I came down with Covid just 2 days before departure, she swiftly moved to find dates for later in the year. From getting picked up at Victoria Falls airport, to all the tours, transfers, and accommodation in both Zimbabwe and Botswana, things couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Travelling to Botswana is expensive, but worth every penny.

Accommodating
Megan Warrington and Discover Africa made our 5 country African vacation a trip of a lifetime. She planned the perfect vacation for us. The pace was perfect, the sequence of countries was perfect, and the accommodations were truly amazing. She knew exactly what we wanted and needed along the way. I would have never been able to put together such an amazing adventure. Discover Africa was there for us every step of the way. They made our connecting flights seamless, getting us through airports and border crossings quickly and easily. They saved us so much time and energy, making the difficult things seem easy. With Covid changing everyone’s travel plans, our trip was 2 years in the planning yet Megan was very understanding and patient with us. We changed dates and itineraries 2 or 3 times trying to make the trip possible and Megan just adjusted everything along the way so that our dream trip became a reality. I just want to say thank you to Megan and Discover Africa for letting us experience your beautiful continent.

Unmatched
I booked mine and my wife's honeymoon and to say that our experience was unforgettable would be and understatement. The agent I worked with Megan W. was fantastic. She took into consideration what my wife and I were looking for from experiences to types of rooms we wanted to where would could spend more money and where we could save. She even took into consideration the style of traveling we do personally. Megan really made the tour for US it was truly special, she was also accommodating when we wanted to add extra time to our trip to do gorilla tracking in Uganda and made it work. If all the employees at discover Africa are like Megan than ylthere is nothing to worry about when booking other than getting your camera gear ready and bags packed.

Trip of a lifetime by discoverafrica.com
We booked our Tanzanian and Kenyan safari though Megan Warrington of Discoverafrica.com. Megan was superb and planned the perfect safari for us. All connections / pickups and accommodations were flawlessly executed.
We started off in Ilkeliani, on the border of the Masai Mara park (you cross a little footbridge next to the tents over the Talek river and you are right in the park) which is professionally managed by Sylvester. He happily and obligingly dealt with all our requests. We were treated to 3 delicious meals / food boxes per day. The camp prepared food exactly according to our dietary requirements. At night we heard the hippos and hyenas of the park from our perfectly appointed tents.
The highlight of the stay were our safari drives. Our devoted guide Joseph showed us amazing sights ranging from cheetahs marking their territory, a leopard guarding its kill, and lions feasting on zebra. In addition to that, Joseph opened our eyes to the Masai culture.
After that we flew over to the Serengeti where we spent 5 wonderful days at the Nasikia mobile migration camp in the northern Serengeti national park.
Our game drives by Andrei were an unforgettable experience. Through his patience and insights were experienced several Mara river crossings, one spanning over 15 minutes. We saw all the big 5 including a Leopard stalking gazelles and lions and their pride playing in tree.
The mobile camp is located on the top of a hill, and we were literally surrounded by wildebeest and zebra herds.
The food was deliciously prepared by Martin who took great care of our dietary requirements. Showers were a little challenge because there is no running water, so they are bucket showers. The tents though were well equipped and very comfortable.
After that we flew over to Karatu where we visited Lake Manyara park (didn’t see flamingoes or tree lions unfortunately, but the park is beautiful) and the Ngorongoro Crater, filled with game.
We would highly recommend Megan and her team at Discover Africa.com.

Trip organised in a totally professional manner with a high level of efficiency and reliability
Second trip to Namibia
This has been again a wonderful experience. Visited 4 different locations, which I rate below starting with the best:
1. Little Kulala - fantastic accommodation, super friendly staff, very good food, very knowledgeable guide Markus, Soussusvlei at its best!!
2. Fish River Canyon - breathtaking location, super accommodation, very friendly staff, not much to see accept the canyon. Hike down to the canyon truly challenging and better save your energy to go back up!. Guides really focusing primarily on the canyon hike.
3. Aus Vista lodge Eagle's nest - impressive location of the chalets, though remoteness from the main lodge (7 km) requires driving for every meal - not the best. Very friendly and helpful staff, good food, beautiful hikes and sundowner rides.
4. Kalahari Anib lodge - operation set up for large groups, quick turnover, reasonable accommodation, average food, good for a short stop-over
In the first 3 locations they had no problem do address my daughter's dietary limitations (diary products), at Anib lodge they cared less.
