Discover Africa's expertise is invaluable. Highly recommend.
First of all, we highly recommend Discover Africa. The service they provide is invaluable. Our travel planner, Vihann, gave us expert guidance on our accommodations and tours. He arranged for all of our transports including internal flights and he even checked us into our flights! Everything went like clockwork and we had the comfort of knowing Vihann was available to us if needed. We will definitely use Discover Africa for our next trip.
Here's a summary of our trip: For our first trip to Africa, we wanted to focus on South Africa. We started in Cape Town and stayed at the Victoria & Alfred on the waterfront which is an excellent location. We went on a city tour, tour of the Cape and also visited the wine country. We had the same tour guide for three days providing continuity. Cape Town was a great way to start our trip. We then went to Timbavati Private Reserve (at Vihann's recommendation) and stayed at Kambaku River Sands. We arrived in the early afternoon and went on our first game drive. Within 24 hours, we saw the big five and much more. The accommodations, food and staff at the lodge exceeded our expectations. Next, we traveled to Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, Arathusa Safari Lodge. Our suite faced the watering hole where hippos reside plus elephants, giraffes, etc came to drink often. Again, the lodge staff, food and accommodations were excellent. Between the two reserves, we went on 11 game drives. We ended our two week trip in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, at the Old Drift Lodge located on the Zambezi River. The Lodge staff helps put together an itinerary from the list of numerous activites available to you. There are morning and evening game drives offered as the lodge is located in the Zambezi National Park, but we chose other activites such as the sunset river boat safari, tour of the falls, and breakfast at the Lookout Cafe. With Vihann's help, we also booked white water rafting with Wild Horizons on the Zambezi and Devil's Pool. All activities were fantastic and again, the staff, food and accommodations at the Old Drift Lodge were outstanding.

Charmey our guide was amazing. He was knowledgeable about the area and he showed us everything we asked for. It will definitely go back and use this company and ask for Charmey. One of the best trips I have ever experienced. The migration portion was amazing.

Best itinerary, best price, best customer service.
This was the most amazing trip to Cape Town and Botswana. There are no words to describe how wonderful it was. It went seamlessly and could not have been any better. Megan Warrington arranged our trip and we really can’t say enough good about both Discover Africa and Megan. Megan was so attentive, always available and graciously responded to all our questions and inquiries. When we first started planning our trip, we requested information from many different travel companies. Discover Africa rose above the rest in many aspects. It had the best customer service (Megan), was one of the only companies to offer a mobile safari (Letaka Safaris – which are also amazing), had the same itinerary as another highly rated travel company however Discover Africa was much cheaper and Megan was much more responsive and helpful from the very beginning than any other representative. We highly recommend this company for your safari.

Best vacation experience of a lifetime!
Incredible experience! Diane Du Plessis was our consultant for two South African safaris, one at Umkumbe Bush Lodge (Sabi Sand Nature Reserve) and the other at Motswari Game Reserve (Timbavati Private Game Reserve). Transfers and in-country flights all went off without a hitch. Everywhere we stayed was beautiful and elegant, including our last four days at the Winchester in Capetown. On safari, we got to see lions, leopards, wild dogs, hyenas, rhinos, hippos, Impalas and more. At both reserves, we saw animals with their kills and got very close without disturbing them. Guides were great at both locations. The bungalows at Umkumbe were brand new and very comfortable. The food was particularly good at Motswari. Motswari has an early coffee and treats before you go out on safari, which is nice. Highly recommend Discover Africa!

Megan helped us plan the trip of a lifetime!!!
For our honeymoon, my wife and I decided we wanted to plan the dream African safari trip we'd always hoped to take at some point in our lives. Discover Africa Safaris (and, specifically, Megan!) absolutely exceeded our expectations in every regard, and we are SO grateful to have found them when we were doing our research to plan our trip.
When planning our trip, my wife and I weren't quite sure where we wanted to go, what time of year, and specifically what experiences we wanted to prioritize while we were on our trip. Megan was incredibly knowledgeable -- she listened to our ideas and the things that were (and weren't!) important to us, and compiled everything together into an awesome itinerary. She was friendly, knowledgeable, quick to respond via email, offered great ideas for how to revise our itinerary to meet any follow-up needs/requests, and overall did a fantastic job.
Having returned from our trip, I can confidently say that the trip lived up to even our highest expectations.
All of our guides/outfitters were extremely knowledgable and were great with the logistics/planning to help make sure we were always where we needed to be (and enjoying ourselves) every part of our trip. We had the spectacular wildlife sightings and encounters we'd always dreamed of. And, we felt safe, and well taken care of the entire time. At several times during our trip, we found ourselves saying "...this trip is incredible...Megan crushed it!"

Seamless! Amazing experience
We went on safari to Sabi Sands in September 2024 and had an amazing time. Saw an abundance of animals, and the big 5 multiple times. The service throughout the entire stay was top notch! Susan made everything seamless and we did not have to think about a thing!! Can’t wait to go back

Matthys van Aswegen has arranged three fabulous trips for me!!
I have just returned from my third visit to my favorite safari camps in Botswana. Each time I have taken a different friend with me. I always tell them that Matthys van Aswegen is a master at organizing my trips, but it's not until they actually go with me that they realize I am not exaggerating! Every detail is addressed and any special requests I may have are always achieved. The very best part of this trip was that I actually got to meet Matthys and his dear wife, Leri, while I was in Cape Town. I was so happy to finally have the chance to personally thank him for all he has done to provide me with the beauty and magic of Africa. Another perfect adventure with Discover Africa
This was my second visit to Kruger National Park, and once again, Discover Africa organized an exceptional experience. I stayed at three different private game reserves, each offering a unique charm. The seamless transfers between parks were stress-free, allowing me to fully enjoy the journey. From the warm greetings by staff upon arrival to the luxurious accommodations, delectable food, and top-notch amenities, everything exceeded my expectations. However, the highlight was undoubtedly the game drives, where I witnessed breathtaking wildlife in their natural habitat. I truly felt pampered and cared for throughout my stay. I didn’t want for anything during this remarkable adventure.

Our experience with Discover Africa was excellent from start to finish. Susan was our travel coordinator and we could not have asked for more - she was engaged from the beginning, took all of our personal interests in our bookings into account, and put together a wonderful itinerary for us. When there was a hiccup in the finalization of bookings due to a computer system issue (no fault of Discover Africa) it was no problem, as Susan had alternate bookings on hold that we were able to secure - bookings that ended up being our favorites on the whole trip! We explored Cape Town, Botswana, and Namibia, and had absolutely wonderful experiences along the way. Throughout multiple flights, bush flights, and car rentals we had zero issues and everything went off without a hitch, and Susan checked it along the way to make sure everything was going smoothly and we were enjoying our travels. As we were on our honeymoon, we were treated to some pre-arranged unexpected surprises during our bookings along the way that made the experience even more memorable. I would absolutely recommend Discover Africa to anybody and will certainly be using them again in the future.

Adelle, our travel coordinator with Discover Africa, took care of every single detail of our wonderful trip! We started planning 14 months out and Adelle took care of everything all the while keeping us notified and being 100% available for questions. As for the trip itself, it was the trip of a life time! 10/10 recommend! The accommodations, the food, the animals, the people and South Africa were absolutely wonderful!!! 10/10 recommend!!!
