Nice but to noisy and shaking.
4/5

Tree day Safari tenting two nights in Etosha.Nice idea which can be made better. All was excelellent, views, animimals(lions, rhinos,a chheta, elefants, camping sites, lovely swimmingpools at the fist two stops, but No one did take a swim in the last pool -green and slimy(namutoni). The food good, explanations of animals and nature ok for me..BUT...the vehicle. I would like to recommend the Wild dogs as their safari was not so expensive but I would not go again. The vehicle without ac, was extremely noisy on the way to and from Etosha..,You had to put Your earplugs in. And on the gravel roads we several times asked ourselves,"how can the suspension stand this jumping and shaking."The right answer was" that there were no suspension to be broken" we joked with each other.
Imagine a much more comfortable ride from and to in that case one could have stand the shaky ride..I want to be ernest with You,I do think that people will hesitate before they go with this company again(Wild dog) if the will have to travel in that kind of a noisy vehicle

Worked very hard to fulfill all my requirements.,

First rate communications. My agent ( Megan) was attentive to my requests and did her best to meet all my very demanding requirements. Everything that she arranged was excellent - I have one complaint, but it was not the fault of Discover Africa but the Tour Operator themselves.

It was a pleasure dealing with Matthys at Discover Africa from start to finish. He made everything as simple and easy as possible. Our trip was tremendous and we would fully recommend anyone planning a safari trip to Africa to use Discover Africa. Well done to the team and sincere thanks from all of us in “the Wood party”!

They delivered on all promises timely and accurately!

Matthys was our agent and he was wonderful about communicating with us. We had never done a trip like this before and we're nervous about traveling so far from home. Also my wife had major mobility issues that had to be considered. All our accommodation and travel connections were in perfect order. We truly had the experience of our lifetime!

Exceptional service for our last minute family holiday
5/5

Wow, what an incredible experience! This was our first time in the Maldives and we were blown away by the landscape, the service before and on the trip and the fact that we were actually able to have a relaxing holiday with a one year old.

We decided to travel very last minute but Discover Africa made it so easy. Within a few days they had sorted out our itinerary and accommodation. We were a bit uncertain about traveling our one year old so they went the extra mile to make sure the accommodation suited our needs perfectly. It was almost effortless for us and really set the tone for an unforgettable holiday.

The resort (Adaaran Select) is super well kept and clean. The beach villas are located right on the water and they have everything you need. I particularly liked the outdoor bathrooms. Everyone at the resort made us feel super welcome and the quality of service was outstanding. My husband got some great waves at Lohis and was well looked after by the surf team. I had some exceptional dives and really enjoyed yoga classes in the mornings.

Alice at Discover Africa listened our requests, understood the type of holiday we were looking for and put together a perfect break for us, quickly and efficiently. We will definitely book with them in the future. Thanks again!

Trip of a lifetime with Discover Africa
5/5

We found Safari Bookings online and chose Discover Africa after reading the excellent reviews. Megan contacted us by email the next day and we began the process of picking out a trip with her help. We decided on a stay split between Arathusa Lodge in the Sabi Sands reserve and Jock Safari Lodge in Kreuger. Megan arranged all transfers, bookings, internal flights, etc. from Johannesburg airport and back to the airport after our vacation. There were absolutely no issues with her arrangements. She kept us up to date with emails and totally fulfilled all of her promises to us. I told her this would be a trip of a lifetime for us, but now that we are home we are starting to plan another trip back to Africa and we will use Megan to make our arrangements again. The lodges she chose were perfect for us. We flew in to the Arathusa private airstrip and were taken to the lodge. That afternoon we went on our first of four game drives from Arathusa. We saw rhino, giraffe, leopards, hyenas, lions, elephants, and so forth. Our ranger and spotter were very knowledgeable about the animals and explained their habits. Jock Lodge in Krueger has a history going back to the beginnings of the establishment of the park. The game drives there also amazing. If anything, we saw more big cats and elephants than in the Sabi-Sands area. On our last game drive we saw four female lions surround a small herd of buffalo and attack successfully. If you have ever wanted to see the African plain and its animals get in touch with Megan at Discover Africa.

From start to finish, professionally handled.

We worked with Megan coordinating a trip to South Africa to visit our daughter, a teacher for the Peace Corps.
Her remote location meant there were some logistical issues right from the start..... We wanted to visit her , her host family, and her school before heading out. We trusted Megan's recommendations on travel, sights and experiences, and lodging and couldn't be happier the way it all turned out.
An unfortunate example of her expertise..... We were booked for 2 nights in Knysna, and the Knysna area experienced heart breaking wild fires just a short time before our trip. Our lodge literally burnt to the ground. Megan was able to seamlessly find excellent lodging nearby and the trip went on without a hitch.

What an experience!
5/5

Working with Megan from Discover Africa to setup our safari was a breeze. She manage to get us to all of the locations we wanted to get to and the camps we wanted to visit. She was incredibly responsive and helped us with any questions or problems we had. (Don't forget to find somewhere to store your hard sided suitcases when you switch to duffel bags!).

All of the Sanctuary Lodges blew our expectations out of the water. Our tracker Sky at Chief's Camp was amazing and we spent four hours one day tracking down a rhino until we finally managed to see it making our trip complete! The staff at all of the Sanctuary camps were incredibly and being able to go in either private or small groups (4 total people) game tracking made the experience infinitely better.

My only advice to fellow travelers would be to try to take a day trip to see Victoria Falls from the Chobe area instead of going to a camp in Zambia. We found the Botswana national parks to be an overall much better experience than those of Zambia.

Excellent!
5/5

We worked with Alice to plan the safari portion of our South Africa trip. Alice was wonderful to work with. She was very helpful with finding 2 safari locations within our budget. We considered both Botswana and South Africa, and she provided some great insight into each area. The vacation she planned went so smoothly! We were very impressed. The safari lodges and hotel in Joburg were excellent. I would definitely plan another safari through this company.

Great set up and trip!
4/5

Megan was great at putting together trip options when we were first starting out search. I loved how she laid out the options and worked with us based on our priorities (game drives!). The links that she sent us were pretty good at laying out the properties and such, but the itinerary (down to the nitty gritty) was a little confusing. We weren't entirely sure how many activities we'd have each day at each location. We were a little surprised that the days leading up to the event we didn't hear from anyone from the lodge group or from Discover Africa - everything worked out great, but we were a little nervous as we'd never been to Africa and weren't quite sure what to expect. The other point of confusion was that our trip was always quoted to us in USD and we were told that if we booked by a certain date we'd be guaranteed that rate, however when we were actually charged on our credit card it was charged in ZAR so through the exchange rate it came out higher than what we had been quoted in USD. I understand why this needed to happen, but I think it should have been clear that the quote was actually in ZAR and that the exchange rate would obviously fluctuate.

The trip itself through Sanctuary Retreats was phenomenal! They really took care of us starting from when we stepped out of the airport in Zambia. I love how each of their properties had different activity options so you could do more than just game drives (even though those were the show-stoppers) - but I really enjoyed the mix of water/boating activities as well. We saw all of the Big 5 on our trip and loved how we had the same guide for the duration at each camp. Also be prepared that you will be VERY well fed!
