Visiting Uganda Gorilas with Discover Africa
The whole travel experience was amazing.
Since the arrangemenf with all Discover Africa Technology providing us a special travel web site until the last mile arrangement that put us face to face with Gorilas in Bwindi, Uganda was just perfect.
Special attention to the field team that was just perfect with all details and always on time and helpful.
Greta job with sales team flexibility to attend all our requests in this so complex travel.
On behalf of my family thank you and congratulate on this great job.

Discover Africa Is The Best!
Our first Africa safari trip was even better than we had hoped for, due in large part to Discover Africa's excellent tour operator, Matthys van Aswegen. Matthys was unbelievably patient in helping us plan the trip we wanted, arranging for everything beforehand, and answering our endless questions, which I am sure he had heard a thousand times, as if he was hearing them for the first time. Discover Africa came very highly recommended to us by Sabi Sabi, one of the premier lodges in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, which gave us confidence that they were not only a reputable company, but that they really knew what they were doing. And they did! There were absolutely no surprises on the trip, all reservations were confirmed ahead of time, the Sabi Sabi Selati Camp where we stayed was top-notch all the way, with an extraordinary staff, knowledgeable guides and trackers, and food and accommodations that were absolutely five-star. We will definitely work with Discover Africa again for our next Africa adventure. Thank you, Matthys, for helping us have the trip of a lifetime! John Chiego

Our dream Tanzanian Safari was perfect magic; endless unique animal viewing, fab guide, great camps!
Start to finish Discover Africa was wonderful crafting the perfect safari tailored for us! Karl was attentive and responsive from the very first email. He worked with us to find us EVERYTHING we wanted within our budget! He kept in touch the whole year sending us tips and reminders which made preparing for our trip much smoother and built our anticipation as we tracked the wildebeest migration on herd tracker! The camps he chose were perfect! Wonderful locations, clean and comfortable with delicious food each day. Sleeping in the parks with the animals all around us at night...magic! Our driver/guide "SP" was absolutely perfect! Amazing at spotting the animals and getting us close to many of them; SP could name and describe animals, birds, plants; and he had wonderful stories about them all and would amaze and entertain us; in 9 days each of us felt we had a new friend in SP; SP knew all the roads and back roads; he had many years of experience which made us feel very safe and comfortable in his capable hands. We didn't need to worry about anything so we could focus on the wonder all around us. Being met at the end of our safari by Discover Africa personnel and delivered back to our Arusha hotel is just the kind of service that removes all stress and makes one feel special. Incredible trip! I am so grateful to Discover Africa for making this dream come true for our family!

Fantastic planning, wonderful accommodations, amazing experience.
The representative met us at the airport in Windhoek as planned and did a wonderful job of helping us get our rental car and telling us what we needed to know. He gave us a fantastic package of useful information. Villa Violet hotel was lovely. Little Kulala Lodge was exceptional. The staff was warm, accommodating and knowledgeable and our activities were fantastic. I loved experiencing the skybed. I very much appreciated the gluten free food since I have Celiac disease. The landscape in that part of Namibia is spare, haunting and spectacular. We loved seeing different parts of it and especially loved the locations of the sundowners. Our guide, Goodly, was wonderful.

Planned and executed well to the last detail
Traveling with a large group is generally a challenge but the level of detail of planning and consistency in execution made this one of the most memorable family vacation ever. The personal touches to ensure not only dietary needs were met but personal preferences as well was very much appreciated. The guides for the safari tours were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and eager to please. Living from the Kimundo camp was our favorite though all were impressive. The tent accommodations were beyond expectations and the service for morning wake up, showers and laundry as well as wifi connection were quite unexpected and appreciated. I would highly recommend the experience provided by Discover Africa to anyone planning a safari trip.

Memorable Trip to Namibia - Fantastic Accommodations
Discover Africa put together a fantastic itinerary for us and we had no travel hassles. We stayed at Villa Violet in Windhoek (1 night), Little Kalula Lodge in Sossusvlei (3 nights), and GoncheGanas in Windhoek (1 night). Each place was lovely, VERY comfortable, and had parking. We had very personal service at Little Kalula. We loved the Little Kalula team and our guide, Goodley. Little Kalula has a private entrance to the Sossusvlei park, so we didn't have to wait in line or drive 30 minutes out of the way to the entrance. The "big daddy" dune and dead flay were stunning. We went on a memorable quad bike adventure in the Namib Desert with Goodley as well. At GoncheGanas, we were so fortunate to see the white rhino and her baby (only 5 remaining in the park). Excellent game sightings here.
Expeience with Discover Afrika met our expectations.
We were very satisfied with the level of service and communication with Discover Africa.
They were very helpful when we were trying to build up our itinerary and find an appropriate accommodation. Information pack send before the trip was very comprehensive and included all information we required.

had hesitations at first but super glad booked our safari adventure with them
Found out about Discover Africa while browsing the internet, at first was hesitant to go with them as their office is based in CapeTown and we are from the Philippines, we were thinking of the advantage of going with a local agency in terms of customer support and coordination. but a few exchanges of emails with Matthys who was assigned to us proved that communication was not a problem at all. Matthys was very patient with all our questions and designed a very good itenirary for us. We also had a problem with an Embassy for our E-Visas and despite this being not part of their deliverables to us, Discover Africa's team of Matthys, Megan and especially Alice took it upon themselves to really help us by contacting them on our behalf. The trip went smoothly and everything in the itenirary was delivered as described. Excellent customer service! Truly living up to their name, the way to discover Africa is thru Discover Africa!

Excellent attention and bespoke travel experience
In planning for a trip one year out, I 'interviewed' US, European, and African travel companies. Matthys of Discover Africa listened to what I wanted to accomplish for the group of 10, was willing to make changes and make better suggestions than the ones I had, and did so at a price point that could not be beat. That was all pre-departure. Once the trip started, Matthys' knowledge of his country and his understanding of our group and my desires as a group leader, showed up in the stunning lodgings he selected (locations, services, and amenities), the activities he had planned and suggested, and his partnership with Ilios as a guide and transport service in many of the places we visited. I was the only one of the 10 who had been to Africa and because of the professionalism, creativity, and individual attention that Matthys gave to us, the others are all ready to return with friends and families - and to use the excellent services of Discover Africa. Many thanks, Matthys and team!

My first safari. They made it happen.
I am an avid traveler, I love to discover new places and see new things. It didn't take long for me to put Africa on my bucket list of places to visit with an African safari as a top priority bucket list activity. I've visited other websites and have even communicated with their employees, unfortunately, I didn't have good experiences with some of them. So upon planning my first safari, I came across Discover Africa & true to their name, they did help me discover a part of Africa. My correspondent was Karl, and I have to say that he was very efficient, I layed out the specifications for him and he quickly managed to create an itinerary for me. Things were smooth from the planning stage, to the tour itself, to the return. I had a wonderful time and I can confidently recommend Discover Africa for your first (or next) trip to Africa.
Africa is certainly a unique continent full of wonder. My first trip was a combination of two East African countries, Rwanda & Kenya. It was a great combination as there was a stark contrast between the two countries. Rwanda was a lush, green, mountainous region where farms galore. Kenya had a somewhat harsh, arid landscape. The gorillas and golden monkeys were Rwanda's flagship attraction so I didn't dare to miss the opportunity to see both. Some people opted for 2 gorilla treks as opposed to one gorilla & golden monkey trek, and I simply don't recommend that. There is beauty in both encounters & a contrast in behavior as well. The gorillas were generally more reserved and shy while the monkeys were playful and mischievous. The rules of both encounters differ as well & you had a bit more freedom with the golden monkeys. Rwandans are a very welcoming, friendly people & I lost count of how many times we got smiles, hellos and waves as we drove past them. On one occasion, a couple of cute children did a little cultural dance and song for us.
Kenya was beautiful in it's own way as well. I stayed at the Governer's Camp at the Maasai Mara & the experience was nothing short of unique. A 45 minute flight will take you away from society and into the wilderness where the camps are located. You will be greeted by gazelles, giraffes, baboons & zebras upon arrival & transferal to the camp. You will enjoy the escape from civilization, you will enjoy waking up to the grunts and roars of animals as opposed to the grunts and roars of vehicles, you will enjoy viewing the wildlife you may have seen in zoos, only this time in their natural habitat. Having breakfast while marveling at the gazelles & zebras on the horizon is an alluring experience and beats all the dinner nights I've had watching my favorite TV shows. If you get the chance, opt for some Kenyan coffee, it's a pleasure to the senses and the best I've ever tasted (and I'm not much of a coffee person).
One thing to keep in mind is that this is nature, experiences will vary from one person to the next, there are no guarantees in the wild. But I can guarantee that you will have a great overall experience. My favourite moment was witnessing the very end of a river crossing by a zeal of zebras as it rained over the Mara river. A zebra met it's end at the jaws of a crocodile. Our driver brought us closer to witness the spectacle of a bask of crocodiles engaging in a feeding frenzy like nothing I've ever seen. All of this while a rainbow arched over us. Truly awe inspiring.
