Friendly, amenable and knowledgeable - Nick Brant.
5/5

Wow! If you only ever go on one safari in a lifetime this is the one to go on. Our tour surpassed all our expectations and has now spoiled us for any other adventure we may go on. Nick planned the itinerary with us in mind after various discussions and emails. However he left enough jiggle room so that we could alter our plans if we wanted to.
We used the Pajero which was expertly kitted out and we slept in the roof tent - my husband soon became adroit at packing the tent up ready to leave. I can only assume it is even better now (if that’s possible) as Nick has sent us some photos of his Hilux.
We visited all the National Parks and saw 4 out of 5 of the Big Five. However one of our highlights was seeing the schubill in the marshes near Entebbe - a must for everyone, not just bird watchers. In total we saw over 150 different species of birds.
Nick chooses his guides carefully and they were all friendly and knowledgeable.
I would highly recommend this one of a kind safari.

What an absolutely fantastic adventure that was very well organised.

Our adventure was absolutely amazing from the moment we arrived in Uganda. Nick and the team had put together a challenging and all encompassing tour which took in most of the National Parks. We got to see so many animals and over 100 species of birds during our adventure. The administrative arrangements were first class and Nick had thought of every eventuality. The vehicle and accommodation were excellent and Nick adjusted the program to take account of what we wanted to do. Thank you again Nick for a superlative tour and I really hope that others join you on a life changing adventure.

Great, funny and tries his best to make the experience magical

I would recommend the experience of camping. If you can do it for longer, that would be amazing. The different locations that you will be able to see by sleeping in the most scenic environments is unbelievable.

Nick did everything in his power have us see as many animals as possible on the Safari by take non topical routes. Along with his great suggestion we managed to see more of Uganda in 4 days.

Thanks Nick for the great experience!

The BEST trip ever
5/5

Me and my daughter had absolutely amazing experience! Nick made customised trip based on our availability and wishes on what we would like to see and to do.
First night we went to Lake Mburo with the hippos and had BBQ under the stars, next day to Bwindi Forest, over the mountain tracks to Ishasha and last day at Queen Elizabeth National Park game drive.
He's vehicle equipped with the kitchen, outdoor shower and roof tent. So, you have all comfort needed with you in a wild. But there is always an option to stay in the hotel overnight.

Highly recommended guide, with dip knowledge of Uganda (sides, culture, etc.) and just wonderful person that really cares about people.

From start to finish exemplary service.

Met at the Airport with a big smile and a handshake at an untimely hour my adventure began. Nic gave me a brief rundown of what to expect over a very cooling beer in the pub. Friendly, sociable and what turned out to be a friend for life. Small group made a difference as we went over the roles, the bikes and route. Nothing was ever a problem as I was well and truly welcomed in to the Meander Uganda family. Wildlife was amazing with tour guides provided where appropriate. Landscapes and routes were epic. I have to say thank you to Nic and his team for a genuine holiday of a lifetime.

Adventure Motorcycle Trip with Meanda Uganda:

In September 2022, I joined Meanda Uganda for 6-day motorcycle adventure trip through southern Uganda’s various landscapes. The tour was led by David O’Connor as tour leader and by Nic Brant as the host and tour organizer. We visited the trails around Lake Victoria, Albert, and Bunyonyi among others I forgot. We rode through the villages, lakes, Rwenzori Mountain, and the Bwindi Forest “amazing experience”. We camped in and saw the African Rhino, Elephant, Buffalo, Crocodiles, etc.

This trip was beyond amazing! seeing Africa opened my heart and humbled me, it brought me back to my basic human needs. At every corner, I had unforgettable moments, the people, places, terrain, nature, and animals. Nick and David were a fantastic team, very cool and funny to be with and I loved every minute of it. Here’s my review of the trip essentials.

Service: Fully available and transparent from day 1 with the visa preparation, vaccine and travel arrangement. Nick and David were always available with on time communication. They picked us up at the airport and we stayed at Nick’s home, and were treated like family.

Value for Money: You can feel from the very first moment, that Nick loved Africa and has spent time and effort dedicating his time and energy to this country. He’s like sharing his passion, its not a commercial business. Everything was included in the package – from accommodation and food, everything was transparent and we had freedom to select hotels or camp during the trip.

Reliability: David as the tour guide was with us all the time through the various terrains, especially the deep mud. Nick drove the support vehicle and took care of all the logistics, so we didn’t have to worry about anything.

Tour Guide: David O’Connor was the heart of the trip. His dedication, patience, and fun-loving spirit made everything enjoyable. It was my first-time riding in mud, and was often in deep pools of it, despite the challenges, David was supportive, he motivated us and kept the spirit high.

I highly recommend Meanda Uganda to anyone looking to explore Uganda on two wheels. Big thanks to Nick and David for making this trip so memorable! If you’re thinking about it, just go for it – you won’t regret it!

Nick was an outstanding guide/host with great knowledge of the area and wildlife - it was great fun.
5/5

We went for 5 days with Nick to south-west Uganda. It was a great experience and amazing fun. Nick knew the area well and was a great and guide/ tour leader. We always felt safe and really appreciated Nick’s detailed knowledge of the area making the trip an experience never to forget. We saw all the main animals as well as many of the beautiful sites that are to be found in this part of the country. More than happy to go back and experience other areas of Uganda with Nick - we were very grateful for the effort he made driving us around, setting up camp, cooking for us, whilst doing all these things with humour and a “joie de vivre” not always shown by other tour guides. Thanks Nick and hope to be back soon.

A once in a lifetime experience!
5/5

We had such a fantastic time travelling through this beautiful country with Nick.
We saw Rhino, elephant, hippos, giraffe, lion, crocodile, leopard, chimpanzee, eland, impala, kob and the highlight for me, a gorilla family.
We travelled in and camped on top of a 4 wheel drive vehicle and also stayed in lodges. We shopped for and cooked our own food but also had the opportunity to experience Ugandan cuisine when staying in the lodges. The food was amazing.
We had experiences that were breathtaking: trekking along a ravine searching for chimpanzees, walking across the grassy plains to watch rhino, camping overnight on the Nile delta accompanied by Sarah an extremely knowledgeable Park Warden (who also spotted a leopard in a tree), driving through the national parks, boating up the Nile watching hippos and crocodiles and climbing through the impenetrable forest in search of a gorilla family.
We liaised with Nick before we left the UK discussing food, travel arrangements and itinerary which we felt were very good value for money. Nick tailored our holiday to ensure that we were able to do everything we wanted to but also used his own knowledge of the area to broaden our experience.
We felt that Nick went out of his way to ensure that our holiday would be a once in a lifetime experience- which it certainly was!

For a true African adventure I would definitely recommend Meanda Uganda.
5/5

Fabulous seven-night camp with Meanda Uganda. The “Northern Circuit” trip departed from Entebbe and included walking with Rhinos and then wilderness camping in Murchison Falls National Park observing Lion, Leopard, Water buffalo and Elephant then a visit to the famous Murchison Falls itself which was truly spectacular. Then it was up North to a two-night camp at Kidepo Valley National Park filled with game and with fabulous unrestricted views of mountains and plains under a vast sky, before heading back south via Pian Upe Wild Life Reserve, Sipi Falls at Mount Elgon and a final camp at the “source” of the Nile just north of Jinja. Each camp was carefully chosen by Nick, arranging Park Rangers as required for the truly wilderness camps and each evening Nick offered his signature G&Ts followed by dinner produced from his specialised unique safari vehicle incorporating fridge, freezer and cooker and for the wilderness camps – a hot shower facility. Well done and thank you Meanda Uganda! – I will be back to do the Southern Circuit!
