There is no one better than Pat Malatsi for a bush camping wilderness safari in Botswana!!!
5/5

In my 25+ years of traveling to Botswana and organizing safari trips for friends, Pat is the very best for mobile safaris, and I have used several different outfitters over the years. Patrick's knowledge of the wildlife of Botswana is legendary. His ability to identify all bird species by sight and sound is truly incredible, and he always seems able to find the predators for his clients from cheetahs and wild dogs to the lions and leopards. Patrick is also expert at reading track and sign as well as his ability to identify plants, insects and even the amazing constellations in the night sky. Patrick's camp staff are excellent and make being in the African bush and unforgettable experience. Patrick loves people and is an absolute delight to be with. In my mind, no one offers a better bush camping wildlife safari in Botswana than Patrick Malatsi. He is truly amazing.

Patrick is a walking encyclopedia of the natural history of Botswana but especially the bird life.
5/5

We spent nearly 2 weeks on a mobile (tent-camping) safari with Patrick as our guide and owner of the company. Our group was made up of a lot of wildlife biologists/natural history enthusiasts as well as birders so we valued his knowledge of all-things natural history. The staff were great as were the tents, campsites and meals. He also took us to the village of his family for a unique cultural experience. This was our second trip with Patrick (did one in 2017) and we saw more birds and mammals this trip than we thought was possible. Seeing a pack of wild dogs at their den was one of the highlights as they had just returned from a successful hunt. Because of Patrick's knowledge of the area, he was able to change course easily when something of interest popped up (like the wild dogs). Botswana is his home.

Three generations share their deep knowledge of Botswana
5/5

Our guide/driver/owner Patrick Malatsi took us wherever there were opportunities: a lioness about to make a kill, a hidden Pel's Fishing owl, a herd of elephants crossing the river with very small calves, a leopard cub dozing under the hanging baboon corpse left by its mother.
Our group of ten was flexible and so was he. As a consequence, we had one amazing experience after another. With three generations of the Malatsi family engaged, we felt steeped in culture and deep knowledge of all things Botswana. We listened to decades of stories around the campfire. Whether birds or animals or plants or scat, Patrick would help us learn and quiz us on our guesses as we learned more and more each day, adding to our knowledge base of the biology and the changing climate of southern Africa. Patrick is one of the best birding guides in the country, which is why we've gone with him twice in ten years. This time we went with our daughter and her fiancé for a two-week mobile camping safari. We felt part of the Okavango Delta, part of the Savuti, part of the Moremi. Our large solid tents with ensuite toilet were comfortable, the food was fabulous, the camp staff beyond delightful and fun and caring. It was the adventure of a lifetime.
