Incredible 4 Days in Kruger
5/5

The experience with Wild Planet Safari exceeded all expectations. Communication leading up to our trip was easy and Thale was always quick to reply with helpful information. Coordinating our airport transfers was seemless and Ryan was right on time when our flight arrived.

The safari itself was amazing. Ryan and Issac’s experience along with Lungisani’s sharp eyes allowed us to see more wildlife than we even imagined. This included the big 5 and more.

The food was unique and delicious at every meal. We even asked one the recipes to try at home.

The accommodations were exactly as described and were quite comfortable throughout our stay.

I would definitely recommend Wild Planet to anyone looking for a wonderful safari experience in Kruger.

You Are In Expert Hands!
5/5

We recently finished the 11 Day Kruger North to South Private trip and had a great time. Ryan and Lungisani are absolutely expert guides and a real pleasure to spend time with. We enjoyed watching them compete with each other to see who could spot the most Big Five animals, and we were the beneficiaries! We were able to observe up close all of the animals we wished, with the only exception being a cheetah, which are very rare. Ryan is a birding expert and spotted an incredible number of birds for us to photograph. I cannot emphasize the value of their knowledge of animals, plants and birds. Later, during our African vacation we heard ridiculous statements from so-called guides who were spouting falsehoods. We confirmed Ryan's information via Google. You will have a great time with these fine guides!

Had an amazing time - spotted tons of animals!
5/5

This trip was incredible. We booked a 4 day private safari for myself and 3 friends. The guides were awesome, friendly, and very accomodating. They also possess eagle eyes. There is no way we could have spotted even a fraction of the animals if not for the guides. The enclosed van was also nice, not as big open viewing areas like the open air trucks, but far more comfortable.

I'd highly recommend booking with Wild Planet!

My family and I were blessed with an amazing experience because this company loves what they do!
5/5

Trying to find a company to book our safari through was a bit stressful as their are many to choose from. After speaking with Thale in our first email together she stood out from all the rest. She was timely in responding to all my questions and accomodated all my requests (travelling with 1year old son, vegan food, etc)
Our guides Chris and Lumi were so amazing. They are full of information about all the animals and South Africa in general. My family and I felt so comfortable with them it was actually sad to say our goodbyes at the end of our safari.
Kruger park is magical and we were able to see all the animals we had hoped for! This is a great company to book your tour with!

Brilliant, all staff were friendly and knowledgable they really went above and beyond.
5/5

Most importantly Ryan was always spotting no matter what and named everything immediately, you could tell they had a lot of experience and always knew where to be and got their first meaning we always had the best of the viewing (we would often be moving on as multiple cars appeared either scaring the wildlife away or making viewing difficult). Not only was the spotting and positioning good you could tell that everyone really cared about seeing the wildlife, we saw wild dogs on our last evening while driving back to the campsite and Ryan's dancing by the wheel and they walked past was (nearly) as good as the sighting iself. In three days worth of game drives we not only saw the Big 5, also wild dogs, hyena pups and bird-life than you could shake a stick at, it really was a special few days.

Away from the amazing wildlife the service provided was brilliant, the campsites were always good, the food was brilliant and the truck being used was well suited.

Communications were always brilliant from first email through to saying goodbye. Emails were responded to quickly and always giving as much information as possible even when things weren't ideal (an issue arose with a vehicle they were going to purchase, I was notified immediately with a range of suitable options all of which were as good if not better than my original choice). Thale and Ryan were always trying to make the trip work for me and really helped organizing it hassle free.

Wild Planet Safari really did provide an excellent service from start to finish, if I ever do make it back to Kruger I will definitely be using these guys.

Fantastic
5/5

Thale and Ryan.
Thank you for giving us a fantastic experience in South-Africa. We were taken care of from landing in Johannesburgh till we left the country 11 days later. We visited places like Pilgrims Rest, Talana museum in Dundee and Drakensberg mountains. In Kruger Park we were driven around to find animals we had never seen before outside the zoo. We think Ryan know every road in the park and where to find the different animals, and he know everything about the animals, birds and flowers. And - the food , if Thale and Ryan wantet to do something else, they can start a restaurant. South-Africa, history, culture and nature fill our mind when we are back in Norway, memories that will follow us the rest of our lives.
Thanks for a fantastic stay in South-Africa.

The tour operators are dedicated to this kind of work!
5/5

This was our first time in South - Africa. This vacation become quite special since it was planned together with the tour operator and it was made specially for us. We have learned a lot about different animals, both nature and culture, and we were impressed by the knowledge of this by the tour operator. The tour operators are dedicated to this kind of work! We will recommend this kind of holiday to those who wish for a special experience. We thought that the atmosphere, communication and the tour operators hospitality was very good during our stay in South-Africa. We are very satisfied with this type of vacation.

A fabulus exerience
5/5

Our safari in Kruger with Wild Planet Safari was everything we hoped for - and more. We got to see the 'Big 5' - our initial objective - and the 'Ugly 5', but we also got to see so much more. A pride of 21 lions, two lions eating their kill, a group of several hundred buffalo walking single file towards water and a fight where two wildebeest were locked together for almost half an hour plus lots and lots of other animals and birds.
Our guides, Chris and Lungi were excellent and amazing at spotting things we couldn't see - even after we started to know what to look for! They also did the cooking and the food was excellent - and there was always too much!
Accommodation wise, I loved the 'African feel' of the huts in which we stayed. The huts were spacious, comfortable - and well airconditioned which was needed!
We were there in September, but I was still slightly surprised both as to how dry and how hot (temps up to 41 deg) it was. However, whereas the dryness (and time of year being the end of winter) made the scenery somewhat uninspiring, it was fascinating to see how tough the animals were and how they were surviving.
My image of an African safari prior to going was doing it in an open Jeep. However, after the initial disappointment of realising we'd be in an enclosed vehicle, both my wife and I very soon realised its benefits! Being able to have the air-conditioning on in that heat was great, and also the visibility was still excellent. Furthermore, if I needed a photo (and I took a LOT!), Chris would stop, position the vehicle as I needed and I could open my window and never missed a photo opportunity!
To summarise: A tremendous time giving us wonderful memories.

Experience was beyond our expectations.
5/5

Upon conclusion of our African adventure, I was thankful we had chosen Wild Planet Safari as our tour company. Thale helped us plan our itinerary, explained benefits of different camps and types of transportation to maximize our opportunities to see as many types of animals and birds as possible. By staying at three camps within Kruger National Park, we were exposed to different types of bush and the animals that live there. We stayed in Rondawels which are thatched roof concrete buildings with private baths. The Safari guide, Chris was amazing. He has the eyes of an eagle and we didn't see an animal or bird he was not familiar with. We believe we would have missed many animals without Chris to point them out to us. His tour is an education. I even took notes! By making our Safari private, we had flexibility with location and timing. On our final day we traveled back by Blyde River Canyon. A beautiful way to complete our Safari. Thale also helped us with reservations in Victoria Falls. After staying in the park, we wanted something a little fancier for a couple of nights. Thale suggested Batonka Lodge which was perfect.
I strongly recommend Wild Planet Safari for your African adventure.
