Organised, helpful and great value
I stayed at Msandile River Lodge in October 2021 for 12 nights. Fantastic value for money, was upgraded to one of the chalets which was comfortable and had everything you need for a great night's sleep listening to the hippos in the river and hyena and lion calls through the night.
I couldn't fault anything, whilst the food is not gourmet dining, it is plentiful, tasty and fresh and the cook was great. You cross the river in the morning and evening and this added to the adventure of the safari as we went past the big hippos that had called out all night!
As for the safaris, leopard sightings 14 times including with a cub and one killing an adult warthog. Lots of lions with kills, saw wild dogs nearly every day including hunting (a pack of 21 dogs).
The team at the lodge treated me like a valuable member of their family. As a solo traveller, I like to feel this way, I felt genuinely at home there and safe and had lots of laughs and fun. I still miss the Kiboko Safari team and Msandile Lodge.

Unforgetable experience great commitment by Kiboko staff
We went with Kiboko to the Msandile River Lodge around the New Years period.
Although we encountered very heavy rain and floodings their staff offered us all the services we needed to get to assure us a smooth way out of the flooded area and even offered us an alternative accommodation at an other lodge.
This was when the whole area was flooded in South Luangwa and lots of lodges were closed and evacuated their clients out.
Amazing work done by Kiboko as otherwise we would have been in big troube in the flooded area.
We still saw game and went on drives.
Very proffesional!
A petty we could not stay the whole time at the beautiiful Msandile Lodge but I will definitly be back again when the rains have stopped

Wunderful safari experience
We spent an amazing weekend at Msendile River Lodge from Kiboko Safari’s. The Lodge has just opened and is right at the River. It has a fantastic scenery of crossing elephants, giraffes etc.. we slept in a big tent with indoor and outdoor shower. The swimming pool is at the Riverside and while being in the pool you can watch the elephants, giraffes etc crossing the River. The whole place was beautiful and clean. The guides are magnificent and can tell you everything about the wildlife in the park. The Lodge has a Boat that takes you into the park, this means that you do not have to go through the main gate.
Best Operator I got to know in Africa
All in all I used 4 different tour operators on my 10 weeks trip in Africa, and to me, Kiboko was the best one of them. I loved the camp we stayed at in South Luangwa, the facilities were simple but good enough and the guide was great, especially with spotting the wildlife during green season. All in all, for me it was the perfect choice.

Disappointing in some ways
I think it is true to say that South Luangwa National Park is magical. The wildlife there is brilliant but I was less than impressed by Kiboko. The staff in Zambia have good hearts and are well meaning but lack proper training. The staff in Malawi are only interested in the money. Five examples of this would be the ordinary food served despite a better variety available in the local market (training), cooks and drivers masquerading as wildlife guides (training and costs), drivers driving leaving no one to spot the wildlife (costs), the snake in my tent getting through a gap in the door (poor facilities) and the refusal by the management in Lilongwe to take me to my hotel at the end of my safari when it was less than 2km away (costs). The driver lied to me on a number of points with regard to this. This would have cost them less than $2 to do this. I had paid $975 for the six day safari. OK Kiboko is a budget safari company but they are more interested in money than good service.
