One of the best things that has happened to me in my life of 70 years!
This safari has profoundly affected my life. Learning about the animals and how smart they truly are. But it was Moriti Private Safari and Shawn Taylor that made this happen for me. He is so knowledgeable in his field and very charismatic with everyone on our tour. We all felt very special and safe under his guidance. He made it a very personal time for each of us. I can't wait to go back and di it again, but only with Moriti and Shawn.

Trip of a lifetime
This was an amazing trip. Being in Kruger among elephants, rhinos, leopards, giraffes, zebras, lions, water buffalo, warthogs, kudus, impalas - to name a few - was a surreal experience. We stayed and Nyeleti - which was fabulous. But of course the highlight was having Shaun as our guide and Lindsay as our chef - they are both passionate about what they do and as a result, this trip exceeded my expectations. I will definitely book a trip with Shaun in the future.

Shaun & Moriti provided an amazing and personalized safari experience.
My experience with Moriti was nothing short of exceptional and I’ve already highly recommended them to others. I booked my trip through a local yoga instructor, who had worked with Shaun before, for a yoga safari. I didn’t completely know what to expect since I wasn’t involved in the planning, but I was blown away by the level of service and attention to detail. Shaun was extremely knowledgeable about all the animals we saw, and we saw many more than just the big five. He had a dedicated tracker with him on all game drives, and together they made an amazing pair that assured we saw as much as possible without feeling rushed. We felt like we had the entire Klaserie Reserve to ourselves. The same level of service continued at the private camp, which was as well appointed as most hotels. Our private chef, Lindsay, created phenomenal meals with local flavors and even prepared a special birthday meal for one of our group. The yoga felt like an added bonus to an already amazing trip. It was truly a memorable experience that I hope to repeat.

An awesome and authentic experience!
In honor of our 25th anniversary, my wife and I chose to celebrate with a yoga safari. Days were structured with morning and evening game drives, sandwiched around a daily yoga flow with some of the most tranquil backdrops you could imagine. Wipe away any misconceptions of roughing it in the bush. "Glamping" wouldn't do justice to the level of accommodations. Our "camp" was on par with elite hotels I have had the luxury of staying in. Shaun and his staff (Lindsay as our personal chef and Patrick as our safari tracker) were exceptional, always demonstrating professionalism and courtesy. Food was in abundance, with Lindsay serving multi-course locally inspired dishes. The detached bungalows were fully appointed.
As for the animals, the big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo) were checked off our list within the first 2 days!. We not only saw them (multiple times over!!), but witnessed them authentically. A lioness and her cubs feasting on their earlier kill. Hyenas taunting these lions in an effort to steal their meal. Watching the courtship between a male and female rhino. A herd of buffalo along with a rhino and elephant (3 of the big 5!!) at a watering hole just after sunset. A leopard protecting its meal, perched high on a rock cropping. Wildlife was in abundance beyond the big 5. Kudu, impala, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles...the list was endless. Shaun and Patrick's ability to rely upon their expert tracking skills and instincts led us not only to sighting of game, but to an authentic display of the wild.
It is this authenticity that was priceless. Sightings were never with the assistance of aerial spotters or from feedback of team members on the ground. Every encounter was driven by Shaun and Patrick's accumulated knowledge of tracking wild game in the bush. Finding a fresh track in the dirt or making note of vultures circling in the distance. For all of these reasons, and so many more, I would recommend Moriti Private Safaris!
Tracking and obeserving nature at its best - a breathtaking experience
Klaserie, Okavango Delta, Kalahari Desert - three completly different Landscapes in one Safari
For my 60th birthday, we decided not to party but to do a Safari with a few close friends. Due to our phantastic previous experiences with Shaun Taylor in more than one Safari before we laid this project into his hands - with an unforgettable result.
Klaserie remains a dream place, from trip to trip even more. Less than half an hour driving from Hoedspruit Airport the wilderness adventure begun, and our warm-hearted hosts at Kitara lodge made this wonderful place on the Klaserie river our second home. Beeing alone within 30 or 40 km² requires some tracking (in which Shaun and Patrick have again proved mastership) but the outcoming spectacular sightings were more than rewarding. And we never had to share them with other vehicles. Highlight this time was a massive Rhino bull, which we could approach on foot, and a pack of wild dogs, which we have watched hunting two days in a row.

Shaun Taylor is an excellent guide with an unbeleavable knowledge about all kind of animals.
We had an awesome safari trip to Klaseri. Shaun Taylor booked everything in advance, picked us up at the airport and took us to the lodge. The lodge was outstanding on top of a riverbed where we could also see elephants crossing. Stephan and Ashley have been wonderful hosts.
We got to see the Big 5 and it was always fantastic to see how respectful Shaun was with the animals. His knowledge was outstanding and it was a pleasure to listen. He is so deeply passionate about not just the animals, but all the living things that make up the park environment.
We have been on many safaris but the one with Moriti was absolutely special. We have been the only car in Klaseri that means that we have to search the animals by ourself. Shaun was absolutely fantastic in finding all of them with the help of Patrick, our tracker. Shaun walked with us towards a rhino and that was a never come back experience. To see this huge animal looking on us at a short distance.
Thanks Moriti Private Safaris for fulfilling all our expectations. We will come back to travel with Shaun.

The experience of a lifetime
I won't bury the lede. If you're looking for a safari company in Greater Kruger, stop looking right now and book with Shaun at Moriti Private Safaris. Everything about our experience was amazing. From the service of Shaun picking us up in Johannesburg to drive the 7+ hours to the camp (and providing the company of an old friend the whole way) to the comfortable quarters and attentive yet unobtrusive hospitality at Klaserie Camps and – my GOD - the food of Chef Lindsay...everything about the experience of staying in the bush on a Moriti safari is second-to none.
And then there's the reason you're there: the game drives. Shaun says his safaris are meant for a certain type of guest: one who wants to learn about the whole bushveld ecosystem, from the Big 5, of course, to general game, right down to the birds, trees, and insects. I'm not sure how anyone could go out day after day with Shaun and NOT be that type of guest by the end of it. Shaun's knowledge of his trade is incredible. He is so deeply passionate about not just the animals, but all the living things that make up the park environment, that it's impossible for it not to rub off on you.
We had some unbelievable sightings while we were there (including a half hour of eavesdropping on a huge male leopard devouring an impala kill we had discovered earlier in the day!), but somehow, they're not what stand out most in my mind. It's the overall experience and all the moments we shared with not just Shaun, but our hosts Don and Lee, our tracker Patrick, and Chef Lindsay. Shaun said on our drive from Joburg that his guests become friends, and it's so true. By the end of our six days, we had already planned out with Shaun our next African safari in two years. And it was not a dynamic of customer and service provider; it was one of friends planning the next time we'd get together.
Seriously, look no further. Moriti Private Safaris provides the experience of a lifetime.

Quit Lion around and book this amazing safari experience now!
Our nine day safari with Moriti Private Safaris was nothing short of exceptional. From our initial enquiries right through to our farewell at its end, Shaun delivered a first class, personalised and truly memorable experience, which made our honeymoon unforgettable.
For context, my wife is a vet, is passionate about animals and had been on safari in Africa before. I was a complete beginner with, to be honest, a passing interest in animals and wildlife. We both felt the game drives, educational discussions & demonstrations were engaging, easy to follow and pitched perfectly. The point is, Shaun caters for a broad spectrum of safari-goers - one of many reasons to book with Moriti!
The diversity and variety of the nine-day tour were right for us because of the layered exposure to the world of safaris in and around Kruger National Park. The highlight, whilst avoiding spoilers, was the private use of a first class game lodge plus having Lyndsay, a personally dedicated chef, was quite fantastic - not to mention all of the wild animals.
Shaun himself is dedicated, professional and passionate about what he delivers. The depth and breadth of his knowledge was very impressive from start to finish. His experience and lifelong interest in the wild was plain to see throughout the trip. He is very easy to get on with; we felt safe and secure on all the drives - even when wild lions were within a few metres of us!
Our safari experience felt personalised and we couldn’t have been happier. We have already recommended Moriti to our closest friends.

Moriti Safaris - the trip of a lifetime!
My wife and I cannot say enough about the extraordinary safari we had with Shaun of Moriti Safaris. Our trip into the bush exceeded all of our wildest expectations. Not only did we repeatedly see the Big 5 (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros and buffalo), but we saw herds of giraffes, wart hogs, mongoose, guinea fowl, tortoises, hippopotamus, all sorts of antelope, hyenas, zebras, baboons, hares and on and on. In addition, Shaun pointed out incredible birds, like eagles, vultures, kingfishers, heron and storks, etc. Believe it or not, we even tracked a leopard for 2 days, and eventually saw it at night, close enough to take pictures from our vehicle. Nothing was too big or small for Shaun to bring to our attention, including a huge termite nest and dung beetles. Shaun was a wonderful guide, host, diver and companion. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Thank you Shaun for making our safari an experience to remember for ever.

Experience of a lifetime
This was a perfect experience for two generations. From the ease of booking and tailoring our adventure to the safari itself.
Shaun took the time to get to know us and ensure that everyone was catered for. While it all seemed easy, we are sure that this is the result of excellent organisation and, as important, strong professional relationships forged over time.
Having never done anything like this, we didn’t truly know what to expect. However, the safari itself exceeded our expectations.
This was a truely private and tailored experience. Our only disappointment was not being able to spend longer.
