Excellence beyond expectation
5/5

I just spent an excellent 4 night safari with Moriti Safaris in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve. Shaun is an excellent host and his knowledge of nature is really out of this world. What really impressed me was his ability to track (and then find) the animals. The lodge he used was also excellent with very good facilities. I would definitely recommend his services to anybody. Well done Shaun, keep up the good work.

Outstanding in all areas.

I was lucky enough to be part of a photographic safari this past week (March 2016) with Moriti Safaris. Words cannot describe how wonderful it was. Shaun is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to wildlife and the bush. The Honourary Rangers were fantastic, the accommodation exceptional, not to mention the food. I cannot fault Moriti on anything and the sightings were out of this world. It is paradise. This safari exceeded my expectations in every way. I will most certainly be going back.

A fantastic experience.
5/5

We have just arrived back in New Zealand after an amazing private safari with Shaun from Moriti Private Safaris.
From the beginning Shaun's communication was excellent and he made sure to create an itinerary that suited what we wanted to get out of our trip. We had a lot of questions and requests, even up to the last minute he was prompt in his replies and always enthusiastic.
The safari itself was great. 2 nights at Tshukudu Game Lodge and then on to a private game reserve in the Klasserie region for 3 nights. The accomodation at Tshukudu was rustic but the food was nice and the orphaned animals, especially the cheetah Ntombi were worth the visit. The game drives were good and it was interesting to see the realities and cost of running a game lodge with the ever present threat of poachers and also the current drought. The bush walk with Richard and Ntombi was a highlight.

The private lodge in the Klasserie was the highlight of the trip. To walk out onto a deck over looking a river bed and then be able to sit and just watch animals walking past was magical. The accomodation was great and the food from the chef Lindsay was amazing. We loved the bush breakfast. The pool was a great place to spend lazy afternoons between game drives and the fire pit lulled us to sleep each night.
The game viewing itself was fun. Shaun is obviously in love with the bush and animals and went out of his way to give us a great experience. We managed to see 4 of the big 5, including lots of lion sightings and an amazing elephant experience.
We left our safari with Shaun feeling as if we had better understanding and insight into South Africa's beautiful animals and land and also as if we had made new friends. We hope to be back one day!

Learnt a lot and had fun on a photographic safari with Shaun and Charles
5/5

We recently did a photo safari with the honorary rangers and Moriti Safaris. Shaun was an excellent ranger and shared his vast knowledge in a superb way. Not only did we learn a lot, we had fun! We also got to improve our photographic skills as Charles was a very patient teacher. Thanks for a great weekend.

For the Perfect African Safari, look no further!

Our nine day safari with Shaun Taylor of Moriti Private safaris was the trip of a lifetime for two grandparents, two adult children and two grandchildren! Shaun made the journey exciting, fun and informative. He is knowledgable and personable. He saw to our every need. The accommodations were incredible, the food was marvelous, every day was a new and exciting adventure.

We saw the Big Five and so many other animals in Kruegar Park, Tschudu Reserve and Klaserie. We had up close and personal interactions with elephant, hippo and cheetah. We enjoyed the scenery; Shaun seems to know every animal, bird, tree and flower in South Africa!

We simply cannot sing enough praise about Shaun and Moriti Private Safaris. This is the trip you want to book. Look no further!

Safari on your Bucket List? There is no better place to check it off than with Shaun at Moriti!!
5/5

When we started considering an African Safari as a family vacation it was really an "is this even possible?" sort of question. We spoke to a travel agent and it really looked out of range. Not necessarily agreeing with the travel agent's approach we began doing some research. Booking a trip like this over the Internet is not without concern and risk. Shaun Taylor and Moriti totally eliminated this almost immediately. Many is the time you look at web pages and when you get there are disappointed. Didn't happen. It was so much better than Shaun described. This review will never do it justice. We have thousands of pictures. None are as amazing as we remembered it being in person. This is the biggest issue, it's really hard to express.

We contacted people who traveled with Moriti before we left, they ALL, that's right, ALL said the same thing. Communication was perfect, accommodations were fantastic, the food was amazing, all the people we met were happy and engaging, full of hospitality for American guests. We got to experience South Africa in all it's splendor over a 9 day period. In the first 2 days in Kruger Park we had checked off sightings of the big 5. If you love animals and tracking you'll love this trip. Yes you get to travel in an open game vehicle with tiered seating just like you see on the Discovery channel. We traveled as family of 6, 3 generations from grandparents to teenagers. All agree Shaun and his team are amazing, you will feel like family at the end of the 9 days.

I do have one complaint. The champagne breakfast high atop a ridge at Klaserie in the wonderful South African morning sun Shaun and Lindsey prepared for my Dad's 65th birthday on our final morning game drive was so incredible, that we'll never be able to top it. From now on, all we'll here is "For my 65th birthday party I had champagne and quiche on a ridge top in South Africa!" No way we'll ever top it. Thanks Shaun! (He said, sarcastically but with a lot of love! :-) )

Just go, the exchange rate, the people, just everything will be amazing. Moriti will make sure of that!!

An Amazing Experience
5/5

We have just returned to Ohio, USA from an Amazing Safari to Kruger National Park South Africa. We experienced the Big 5 and all the other animals, the panoramic tour, the South African Culture, up close and personal interaction with some of the animals, excellent food, wonderful accommodations, and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets. We were educated on all of this by Shaun Taylor, our amazing guide. Shaun's knowledge of all things South Africa is nothing short of phenomenal. His love of tracking animals is evident in all he does and allowed us to see all of the Big 5 in the first 2 days. His patience with our repeated questions was unending. Shaun fit in with our family of 2 teenagers, 2 young adults and 2 grandparents like he had always been a part of our family. Being a private safari of just our family and Shaun made it extra special. We will treasure this experience for the rest our lives through the thousands of pictures, mementos, and special memories we have of this safari. A Moriti Private Safari is the only way you should experience the wonderful world of South Africa

Private Safari for Photography Course
5/5

In June 2016 I did a 3 night photography course with the SanParks Honorary Rangers. Shaun from Moriti Safaris was our guide and I cannot recommend him highly enough! Shaun's in-depth knowledge of all bush related topics as well as his expert tracking skills widely surpass any other guide I have ever come across. All of our questions regarding tracking, trees, birds, insects and much more could not stump Shaun, he knew it all. His tracking skills are unbelieveable. As we were out driving, Shaun suddenly stopped the truck stating he could smell lion urine. Off he goes to sniff around a bit closer and then points out a shrub where he states a lion had been there not more than 20 minutes ago. Back in the truck, we found the lionesses with her 2 cubs not 2 minutes later!

In addition to his superb guiding skills, Shaun is also a great guy and just a whole lot of fun. As he works with small groups, he is more than willing to be flexible to accommodate the wishes of the group. When we wanted to go out on a drive earlier or stay later to observe the wild dogs a bit more, this was no issue at all. I loved the personalized attention we received from Shaun and I am pretty certain I am now spoiled for any future safaris.

Our group stayed at Camp George and this was such a lovely and exclusive camp. The camp is booked out for only the group so you can move right in and call it home. There is a lovely waterhole to sit and relax while watching for visiters.

Shaun will also be starting walking safaris next year and I can't wait to join him for another trip. If you are looking for a safari experience that goes way beyond the search of the Big 5, I can recommend Shaun and Moriti Safaris without hesitation. I came away from my safari with many wonderful memories, a ton of photos, a much deeper appreciation of the bush as well as some lovely new friends. Thanks for everything Shaun and I hope to see you soon.

We had an awesome time in South Africa thanks to Moriti Safaris. It was that special, that we even decided to do a video instead of just taking pictures, see for yourself:

My Africa
5/5

So you want to go to South Africa? And you want to go on safari? But that’s as far as your thinking has taken you – because frankly it is just a bit overwhelming with the hundreds of different safaris and packages on offer. Am I right? Well, look no further - I’ve done all the hard work for you. The comparing, the over thinking and the private (will it work!?) panic attacks. I have found the only way to visit Kruger National Park is with Moriti Private Safari’s.
Shaun Taylor is owner/operator of Moriti Private Safari’s and it’s his overwhelming passion for Kruger Park that sets him apart from the other operators. Shaun has been working as a guide for over 13 years and this is evident in his extensive knowledge of the African bush, animals and all life that inhabit this beautiful area. When you are on tour with Shaun, you feel his incredible passion and connection to the park and it is this holistic approach that enables you to see the park for not just the animals – but for the important connections that lie within it. You will learn to be still, to watch the birds, to listen to the calls of the bush and then you will notice bush tracks worn by the animals like their own private highways. And while you are busy being still – the animals will appear.
We were on safari with Shaun for 9 days and spent nights at the Lower Sabie Camp in Kruger Park, Tshukudu Private Game Reserve and Klasserie Private Nature Reserve. All of our accommodation was perfect – from the rustic Lower Sabie to the luxurious Klasserie and all of them offered their own special secrets. We went to sleep listening to Lions calling at Lower Sabie; patted Cheetahs and a Bush Baby at Tshukudu and toasted the African sunset at Klasserie in our own private reserve. Everywhere we stayed we were treated like the most important people – which we were – because we were Moriti guests.
Friends have told me that Africa will sneak into your soul and stay there. And it has. I went to Africa with an open mind – no expectations - except to enjoy every single minute – and Shaun made certain I did.
In one word – it was –perfect.
Shaun Taylor not only runs the most amazing safari; he is one of the ‘good guys’. You need to look no further.
So what are you waiting for??
