Wildlife at it's best!
4/5

Richard was fast with responding to emails. We were a little nervous about paying from Sweden but it worked out perfectly. Nice guide, great chef, wildlife was amazing and the tent kept us dry. The only thing we would do differently if going again would be to bring our own sleeping bags.

Excellent budget safari operator - great value, great experience
4/5

I took a 5-day, 4-night safari with World Tours & Safaris, and was very satisfied.

We spent one day in Tarangire, camped on the way to Serengeti, then 2 days and 2 nights in Serengeti, 1 night on the crater on Ngorongoro and then a day in the crater. That was an excellent variety - Tarangire's elephants and trees, Serengeti's wide expanses, and Ngorongoro's wildlife density. The parks themselves are obviously the true stars of the trip. Considering the cost of park fees, paying under $1000 for an excellent all-inclusive safari of that length truly is a bargain. It also included an extra hotel night which was handy and staff there were great about helping you get set up for the safari.

Recognizing that the parks are the stars, World Tours did a good job of getting us there and keeping us taken care of. Tents were basic but adequate and we slept well, food was simple but tasty and ample. Lots of water on hand. Most importantly they kept it 4 to a vehicle which meant everybody gets a window and there's enough leg room etc. Our driver wasn't so talkative, but was an excellent driver and spotter. We saw a lot of things that others didn't, and were usually the first or second car at amazing sights. He made every effort to have things in order, we spent lots of time out spotting, he answered the questions we had, and he really did a great job of getting us great views.

The only downsides were slightly older cars without some of the huge windows that others have, but if you're standing up that's not an issue. And we did occasionally have gear mounted at the front which obscured the view in that direction a bit, but there's probably a way around that. But talking to others, the cost of our trip was a lot less than those operations with newer cars, and our cars weren't overloaded with an extra person which does happen on some budget safaris.

Mr. Richard the proprietor had excellent communication, everything was exactly as promised, and he was creative about making things work for drop-offs, stop-offs etc.

I probably could have given a 5-star rating, as they really did make every effort to be sure we were taken care of and I would say they were an excellent budget operator. But know that this is a budget safari, so don't expect bone china and fine linens -- if you want a 5-star camp, be prepared to pay a lot lot more. But for me, the safari tent the first night was very comfortable and the hotel had nice facilities, and then 3 nights of camping in Serengeti and the rim of Ngorongoro were absolutely gorgeous. You're camping, so be prepared to get your hands dirty a little. Cars can break down whether you're on a luxury safari or a budget one, so the right attitude going in will get you over the inevitable bumps in the road. As budget operators go, World Tours & Safaris were always honest, accommodating, and delivered incredible value and an unforgettable experience.

I certainly recommend going on a safari with Mr. Richard and World Tours.

Good - but book directly through world tours not an agent
4/5

All in all, a good budget safari.
We had a fantastic time, and our driver was excellent at spotting animals, and both the cook and driver were professional, friendly and always helpful. Food was for the most part excellent!
I'd recommend going with this company, but we booked through an agent in Dar Es Salaam, David Kiango, and I would avoid booking through him. He is a fraud and did his best to rip off both us and the tour operator. Him refusing to pay Richard meant the first day of our safari was cut short.
Only other complaint was that the safari vehicle ran into a couple of problems - 2 shredded tyres and ? A problem with the spark plug. The vehicles do cover a lot of distance, but with better maintenance it may have fared better!
Bear in mind when you are booking this that safaris in Africa are v expensive, and this is a budget tour. Tents etc were in reasonable condition, but if you want a more glamorous experience, be prepared to pay a lot more.

Fantastic Safari experience!
4/5

We are a family from Sweden with two daugthers (17 and 14 yrs) and went to Arusha for 3 days safari with World Tours& Safaris Tanzania. We visited Tarangire, NgoroNgoro and Maniara and had wonderful days with lot of animals. We stayed at Twiga lodge which was ok but lacking charm, though had A swimmingpool. Our guide Humphrie was nice, skilful and had broad knowlodge about the animals, the people and the culture in Tanzania. Rickard was very helpful and gave us perfect service. We can really recommend this company.

Great adventure
4/5

The expierence with World Tours & Safaris Tanzania was great. Richard, the manager, is a great guy, he will take care of anyone doing the safari with him and not only during the safarin but also before and after. He always offers as help and advice in everything we asked him.
We made a 5 day Safari starting in Arusha and ending in Mwanza, including lake Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti National Park. I dont have words to describe how amizing it was. We saw all possible animals (the big five and much more!) even a lion chansing, hunting and eating with her familiy a gnu :)
The food and camping places chosen by the company where perfect. In lake Manyara we could even sleep in the fancy Hotel with pool. We also had the Chance to see and interact with the Massai in one of their villages in Ngorongoro even though it was not on the program.
So, summarising, GREAT recommended experience with World Tours & Safaris Tanzania.

A good budget safari
4/5

I was glad to get hooked up with World Tours and Safaris since I was a single woman traveling alone. Richard was helpful in getting ancillary services arranged, and putting me with a nice group of fellow travelers. We had a wonderful driver and cook, both Aron and Musa did a great job of taking care of us. The safari portion of the trip was so much more than I had expected, I would have to give that section of the trip 5 stars. The physical accoutrements were rudimentary, but that was expected since this was a budget safari. Our only questionable experience was with figuring the tips. All of us wanted to tip our driver and cook well, but felt their expectations were much more than what we were was told was customary. That is not to say they didn't deserve a good, even, generous tip, but most of us had not budgeted an extra $100 for each person in our group, for each of them. Personally, I would rather pay more upfront, and not have the uncomfortable situation arise at the end of the trip, though I realize this is not the typical method of operation in Africa. All in all it was a great trip; we saw lots of animals, had a good time, and didn't get eaten by lions. LOL. Many thanks to Richard, Aron and Musa for making it happen. P.s. Tell Musa carrot sandwiches are not a favorite. HA.

Greetings from World Tours And Safaris Tanzania.
This is a very emotive issue and has been the subject of much discussion on here. My view is, has been and always will be that the tip to the Driver is Per Group/Car and as such driver.
The normal tipping is USD$10pp per day to the driver/guide and USD$10pp per day to the cook. This is what the guides and cook general expect based on a full car of 4 - 5 people. If you really like your Driver Guide and he goes out of his way to be nice and show you a great trip. I would suggest $15 per day for the group, by the way we have no right to force any customer paying tips to my staff when doing Safari or Mountain climbing. If you feel inclined and have the cash you can give them as much as you can. It is your wish and your money. Remember you have already paid for the trip.

Great experience
4/5

I appreciated my trip with world tours and safaris . Great food, Nice staff. The only downside was the guide. He was more a driver than a guide. Overall, I liked my experience and it was possible I would have given them 4 stars and a half. The owner, mr.papa was really nice and even paid for my dinner afternthe safari. Their prices are very good.

Sharing a safari and the Kili climbing
4/5

I can say that I'm very happy after my experience in Tanzania with World Tours and Safari.
They were very helpful (to the point of lending me some clothes and a thicker sleeping bag up in the mountain), and I felt I was really taken care of. Even my guide invited me for dinner the day after the climbing in Arusha, with his family and some friends.
The safari was amusing, we saw the big 5 amongst many more. The only black point of the trip was that the car broke down at a certain point, so we spent some hours waiting for it to get fixed.
