Namibia/Botswana/Zambia tour
5/5

The trip was fantastic. Namibia is an unknown jewel to most Americans. I traveled there
because a family member went the year prior and said it was one of the best travel
destinations for birds and wildlife in the African continent.
Nature Travel Namibia was able to customize our trip to our wishes.
Our guide, Jakes DeJager was excellent. Thanks to owner, Nick Buys for arranging such an
excellent itinerary.

Caprivi and Okavango Birding Safari - 6 Days/5 Nights
5/5

This safari was excellent in every respect. Our guide, Nick, began by asking us about our main goals for the trip. Nick, a Namibian vet, has a vast knowledge of birds and wildlife, as well as the flora, of the region. He was generous in sharing that knowledge, never tiring of answering questions. It was a pleasure to have Nick as our guide.

The lodges chosen by Nature Travel Namibia (NTN) were situated on three great African rivers: the Zambezi, the Kwando, and the Okavango. Accommodations were comfortable with gorgeous views and the food was good.

The safari was well-planned by NTN, with every detail thought of in advance. There was a nice balance of intensive birding and relaxation during the hot hours of the day if we so chose. Otherwise, it was out for more birding in the bush or garden, or out on the river.

We loved this safari and would highly recommend NTN to any traveller interested in nature and in this wondrous area of the world.

Amazing custom safari
5/5

My mum, husband and I took a custom safari through Etosha, the Caprivi Strip, Chobe and Victoria Falls with Nature Travel Namibia. In short, we absolutely loved our safari. The three of us had such a memorable and enjoyable trip and can't thank Nick and his team enough for their efforts in making sure every bit of it was what we were after. The accommodation was fantastic - Nick worked with us to hand-pick every place we stayed and to make sure it was both within budget and the style we wanted. The parks we visited were great - we really liked seeing the variety in landscape, vegetation and wildlife between Etosha, the Caprivi Strip and Chobe and we saw a fantastic variety of wildlife. But what really made our trip special was our guide, Kit. What a gem of a guy. He was knowledgeable and we learnt so much about Namibia - its wildlife, geography, history, culture. And importantly, he was just such a pleasure to hang out with, with a great sense of humour. A safari is the kind of trip you can't and don't do every day, so it's hard to decide between tour companies. If you're considering Nature Travel Namibia - do it! You won't regret it.

A Custom Tour Beyond All Reasonable Expectations
5/5

This is a first rate outfit. Everything went smoothly, easily, and there were no surprises. It is not an easy thing to spend the better part of two weeks in a small car with a stranger, but our guide, Kit Kirchner, was a blessing. Not only was he courteous, humorous, and easy-going, he had a near-encyclopedic knowledge of the fauna and terrain, having spent his whole life in Namibia. As if that wasn't enough, he had an uncanny knack for finding hard-to-see wildlife, including lions and leopards and even scarce raptors. Not only did we leave feeling we'd had a taste of this marvelous country, we left having made a new friend. All in all my family and I cannot too highly recommend Nature Travel Namibia.

Personalised tour through Etosha, Caprivi, Chobe and Victoria Falls
5/5

We wanted a small group personalised tour to see the wildlife in Namibia as we had not been to Africa previously. After finding Nature Travel Namibia on the internet and emailing Nick we started the ball rolling to find out what he could do for us.
Nick was very responsive and professional in his email dealings and upgraded some of the accommodation and tour itinerary for us to start our 10 night tour leaving Windhoek to Etosha NP (4 nights across 3 lodges), then to Okavango River (2 nights), Kwando River/Bwabwata NP (1 night), Chobe NP Botswana (2 nights) and concluding at Victoria Falls(1 night).
All lodge accommodation and meals were of a high standard, but the real highlight was the fact we were on a "personal" tour with Nick, with ourselves and only one other couple, Colin & Jane from the U.K. Our guide Nick Buys shared his passion for his native country Namibia and with a background as a qualified vet, he has amazing knowledge of the wildlife and the country. Each day we did either 2 wildlife drives or a combination of drive and river boat safaris. Nick has a sharp eye for picking out wildlife and was able to spot some of the
incredible animals in the wild bush and navigate for us to get very close for some wonderful observations and pictures/film. I started a list of what we saw but gave it away after recording 30 animals and 40 bird varieties as it could have gone on forever.
We had started our trip planning thinking we might self-drive Namibia, but we're glad we decided to go with Nature Travel Namibia as Nick took all the stress out by organising "everything" and there is no way we would have seen as much, particularly the animals, if we had gone with a self-drive.
We can highly recommend the services of Nature Travel Namibia and we would definitely go with them again if we come back to do another wildlife tour.

We thoroughly enjoyed our almost 3 week trip through Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. Nick put together for us a well paced itinerary that took in some amazing experiences and sights. Big thanks to Jakes for looking after us and sharing his enormous knowledge of the flora, fauna and people.

Fabulous trip!!!
5/5

Nature Travel Namibia far exceeded our expectations. Jakes was a wonderful host and guide, he looked after every detail from the first to the last day of our safari. We are looking at another safari in Kenya but I told my husband that I would just as soon go back to Namibia and have Jakes take us on safari again.... it was that GOOD!!!

Great experience
5/5

My husband and I did the Etosha-Caprivi-Victoria Falls road trip, and it was wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and imparted a real appreciation for the local birds in particular. The daily activities were a good balance of animal viewing and downtime, and the lodges were comfortable and often luxurious. The logistics were immaculately planned; our guides and the lodges always knew exactly what we were up to, without any confusion about what was paid for and what wasn't. Finally, Nick was very easy to deal with and responsive when we were booking and paying for the trip, as well as when we needed help with an emergency change to our schedule.

Five aardvarks on a trip is not a bad number
5/5

In a fantastic trip around Namibia (and a bit of Botswana), Nick was able to show us the best of the nature of that part of the world. Despite our many requests (animals of all kinds, plants, rocks) he organized the trip so that we could see almost everything. Indefatigable and attentive at all times to our needs. A pleasure to travel with him. Hopefully we can repeat many times.
By the way, we saw five aardvarks and six aardwolves along our night drives...

Birding trip to the Eronogo Mountains in search of Namibia endemics
5/5

My husband and I joined Nick of Nature Travel Namibia for a short birding trip to the Erongo Mountains. This location was chosen for the many endemics we might see and the spectacular granitic Erongo Mountains. Nick took care of all the arrangements from our arrival in Windhoek, including booking us into a guest house that provided good birding in their garden and better birding a short walk away at Avis Dam. We stayed at the Erongo Wilderness Lodge where we enjoyed comfortable tented accommodations, great meals and friendly service from the lodge staff. Our morning and afternoon walks netted us over 50 birds and 7 of the 8 anticipated endemics along with some antelope. As geologists we really enjoyed this setting and Nick found a fabulous minerals shop in nearby Omaruru that we visited before returning to Windhoek. We hope to return soon and join Nick for another birding trip in Namibia.
