A trip of a lifetime!!!
Our safari was absolutely amazing! After landing in Nairobi and going through immigration we were met by our guide, Charles. Charles was very friendly and delivered us safely to our first resort. Our only regret was not having more time to explore Nairobi. We definitely missed out on seeing the elephant orphanage and Karen Blixen museum. The following morning Charles arrived on time and ready to drive us to Lake Naivasha. This Sopa Resort was absolutely gorgeous. The grounds were pristine and our accommodations were more than we expected. To be able to walk around with the animals running free was truly an awe inspiring event.
After an amazing overnight stay, Charles arrived on time the following morning to drive us to the Ashnil tented camp. The ride was long and somewhat tedious, but Charles was very informative and his sense of humor kept the long journey surprisingly pleasant. Our stop to see the Masai tribe was another thrill along the way. Upon entering Masai Mara you whole world is turned upside down. This reserve is truly God's country. The natural beauty of the land combined with the freedom of so many species of wildlife is beyond words.
Charles picked us up promptly at 7am, for the next two mornings. Our game drives with him were spectacular. He made sure we saw THE BIG 5 and many many more animals. His experience proved to be very useful when finding the elusive rhino. Unfortunately, our trip was over. We were very sad to leave. In hindsight, we should have booked this trip for several days longer.
We would definitely rate this safari with 5 stars. The food, resorts and transportation were exceptional. Our guide, Charles was fun, knowledgable and kept us safe! All of the staff at the three resorts were courteous, friendly and went out of their way to make you feel at home.
We would definitely recommend Odyssey Safaris and also Charles, as your guide.

Phenomenal experience that was above and beyond our expectations.
I contacted the office several times before our trip with questions and for assistance on the Visa application and always found the office staff to be very helpful. When we arrived in Nairobi we were met by our driver and guide for the week, Erastus. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and considerate of our needs and interests. The hotel accommodations and meals were all exceptional, we found everyone we met in Kenya to be friendly. We knew we were going in the rainy season and expected rain but never experienced it until the last day driving to the airport. The game drives always produced great sightings, hundreds of wonderful photographs and new understanding about the various animals, all thanks to our skilled driver.
We would highly recommend both our driver Erastus and Odyssey Safari as a whole. It was the trip of a lifetime.

Amazing Safari trip!
I had a fabulous time on the safari trip I took with Odyssey Safaris. From start to finish all of my concerns/questions were answered by their informative and professional staff. From the initial purchase of the trip, applying for the VISA, information regarding the itinerary, and up to the actual trip. The hotels that we stayed in were fantastic, all having their own unique experiences adding to the adventure of the trip. Food at all locations was good (except for the box lunches we occasionally had) and I am a pretty picky eater and still had no problem finding foods I enjoyed. But for the icing on the cake; were the actual game drives......AMAZING! We got to see the "Big Five" as well as hundreds of animals. The guide/driver who stayed with us throughout the week, (Steve) was wonderful. He was able to find all of the animals and answered any questions we had regarding the animals. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip to anyone considering crossing this trip off of their bucket-list.

Well planned, well executed with 5 star service
Dear Odyssey Safari team,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for everyone’s effort in making our safari trip to Kenya one of the best trips on my list of over 25 years of travel . The planning and execution was spot on. From the moment we cleared customs in Nairobi meeting our guide Simon to our departure 9 days later, it was first class all the way! Leaving the USA and arriving in Kenya can feel a little daunting but my daughter and I felt secure the whole time. Our accommodations were 5 star + and I recommend splurging to stay at the Elephant bedroom camp and the Ashnil Mara camp to view wildlife close up while enjoying excellent concierge service.
Our guide Simon was very good at always double checking our plans each day and offering excellent suggestions to modify our itinerary. His guide skills allowed us to see multiple animals ( The big 5 + ) and explain their habits.
I read multiple reviews on other companies doing this type of safari package and the list is a little overwhelming to choose from but I feel Odyssey Safari was an excellent choice based on what I read and experienced -well done !
I would recommend a minimum of 3 nights per resort to possibly plan a day just to totally relax in the camps and enjoy the amenities. The optional tours of the late afternoon “meet and greet “ elephant orphanage and the giraffe center in Nairobi was a highlight for my daughter.
We had a great time.
Asante Sana,
Ed USA

Tanzania trip including 4 day safari, local village tour and 7 day climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
This is my second African trip arranged by Odyssey Safaris and both trips exceeded my expectations. The safari was a chance to see a wide range of animals in the wild up close. Our guide , Miriki was knowledgeable and found the places to get great camera shots. The local village tour gave us a chance to see the native people as they actually live. The highlight of the local tour was the chance to share a meal of traditional local foods with a village family. And the Kilimanjaro climb was an experience of a lifetime for my son and I. It was a challenging physical and mental test. Our guide, Nelson and his support crew, went above and beyond to insure a successful outcome. It was a terrific bonding experience for my son and I that we will cherish forever. Thank you Odyssey for a 5 star trip.

From start to finish this tour group does an amazing job of scheduling and attending to every detail
We were introduced to our tour guide before arrival and was happy to see his smiling face at the airport. Erastus was very welcoming and helpful during the entire trip. I feel the mixture of game drives, shopping and down time were perfect. Most of the time was spent driving to and through the parks. Our driver was very knowledgeable about the animals as well as other local topics. A highlight of the trip was spending an afternoon with the Masai tribe. Be aware that they request a $40 donation in cash for this opportunity. We added Victoria Falls to our trip despite international news that the Falls was a trickle. This is false information. In fact, the Falls are better seen after a drought due to visibility of the bottom without the massive spray that is blinding. The Falls are magnificent. The Zimbabwe people are desperately poor and are grateful for any clothing, toiletries or shoes you might choose to leave behind. We found it useful to carry about $50 in single dollars.
Many thanks to the team at Odyssey Safari for the trip of a lifetime.

Thank you Off2Africa
Thank you Mana for organising a brilliant holiday for us and our 4 kids in Durban, South Africa. You were spot on with coming back to us with packages that suited our family which made it so much easier to make a final decision. Your response was timely and which was good for planning purposes.

Odyssey Safaris made my Bucket List Trip dreams come true! HIGHLY recommend!
I am forever changed from my Double Nickel Birthday Safari in Kenya. I went solo and I’m soooo glad I did. Don’t be afraid to travel solo! It’s everything!! I cannot thank https://www.odysseysafaris.com enough for making my dream trip come true! The attention to detail, consistent communication, and VIP treatment was unmatched! Eliud Mwai, one of the owners, came to meet me personally to discuss my itinerary and ensure everything was meeting my standards. My guide-driver Charles Wahinga is near and dear to my heart! We spent every day together for a week and my trip would not have been as special without his kindness, passion for the land, people, wildlife and culture, without his hilarious sense of humor, openness, and exceptional skills! His passion for safari was contagious. I will forever call him Friend… and Kihingo! The areas they proposed, Nairobi, Lake Naivasha, Nakuru, and Masai Mara were expertly chosen and timed, based on what I expressed that I was looking for out of this trip. My lodging was top notch and my safety and comfort were always paramount. My bucket list trip was worth every penny and then some! I stayed at The Safari Hotel and Casino in Nairobi city. It was cool, but not my favorite in the list. In Naivasha, Sopa Lodge blew me away because the animals walk freely amongst the guest. I loved the intimacy of that! Food was off the chain too. In Nakuru, I stayed at the very high end lodging called The Cliff, an andBeyond property. The lodging and views were stunning! They only have 10 glamorous tents on the cliff top property, so the personal attention was on point! In the Masai Mara, I stayed at another andBeyond property called Kichwa Tembo. The Masai Warriors from the local village make regular visits there and welcome you with Masai dance performances. The food at every location was delicious and fresh, though I did get Travelers Gut my first day in Kenya. Thankfully, Mantazuma’s Revenge only lasted two days. It’s very likely you will get it, so plan for it with Imodium! I spread my Mom’s ashes at the base of a tree in the Motherland. She would be pleased to rest in this most majestic place. If you’re contemplating a Kenya visit, don’t hesitate. It was life changing!
