Fabulous 3-day Safari
We could not have been more satisfied with our experience with Safari Multiways during a recent 3-day safari covering Ngorongoro, Lake Manyara and Tarangire. From the outset, Romeo Rweza was upfront about the details and costs and quick to respond to our numerous queries in planning a trip tailored to our needs. The safari itself was flawless. It quickly became clear that Amos our friendly guide was very experienced and very sharp at spotting wildlife - including 3 male cheetah in Tarangire, with whom we had 30 minutes to ourselves before calling them in. If he was a little rusty on birdlife, that was a more a reflection on the usual priorities of the clients - he seemed to relish the opportunity to brush up on this. Accommodation-wise, we stayed at the very homely Rhino lodge at Ngorongoro and opted to pay a little extra and stay at the Lake Manyara Wildlife Lodge which provided a truly exceptional experience, including breakfast on a terrace to view dawn over the Rift Valley. Our trip was during the Easter low season. Perhaps we were just lucky, but we saw more wildlife than I'd seen on 6 previous high season trips to Tanzania's parks, were with far fewer vehicles / visitors in the parks, and all at very reasonable prices. I would both unreservedly recommend this operator and I would endorse a low season safari to the 3 parks we visited.

Awesone 5-Day Safari!
Before doing the safari we planned everything with the manager of Safari Multiways Romeo, he offered us multiple possibilities to customise the safari and accomodations according to our wishes and comparing different lodges that he proposed.
We had a great safari with the best guide of Tanzania - Amos. His spotting abilities were just incredible. Every day he tried to show us something new but it was a challenge, because we saw almost every species of wild life found in Tanzania, visiting Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Ndutu, vast plains of Serengeti and a descent to the crater.
Our "Old school" Land Cruiser could be more comfortable but did not let us down after more than 1250km of "African Massage" and offroad.
We are very happy that we have chosen Safari Multiways and would recommend it to everyone . The best quality/price ratio!

Nice 3 days safari (Tarangire, Ngorongoro, Manyara) which corresponded to price we paid.
Everything OK, especially accomodation in Rhino lodge which I can recommend to everybody. Exciting morning when we have seen buffalos and antilopes feeding next to our terrace. Great drive in Ngorongoro! Weak point was the car - need complete service.

Perfect budget safari
We are a couple (33 and 29 years old) and checked a lot of safari operators before we booked ours. Our choice went to Safari Multiways for many reasons but first of all, due to the personnalisation and customisation of our safari.
Before going to Tanzania, we contacted several times the manager of Safari Multiways (Romeo) and asked so many questions, but he always answered (quite fast) professionnaly and tried to adapt our safari program according to our wishes. At the end we got an offer for 5 days / 4 nights (what we wanted) completely fitting to our expectations.
We have been to Manyara national park, Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater (and slept in Panorama Camp, Niani Camp, Lobo camp and Simba camp).
The company Safari Multiways is a small, private owned company which we wanted to support, rather than a big one.
The safari price was including:
- all entrances to the national parks ans conservation areas
- all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) done by the cook who was with us during the complete safari, and who prepared so good typical and local food
- the material for camping: tent, matress, pillows (but we would recommand to take your own sleeping bags),
- the english-spoking guide for the complete safari, who knew all best places to observ the animals, and could explain us so many things
- the transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport to the hotel of our choice in Arusha.
We had a really great time, saw a lot of animals (inclusive the big 5!) thanks to our experienced guide and within the pop-up rooftop of the car. We had enough place in the car for our luggage and all the stuff for camping. We definitely recommand Safari Multiways for an unique adventure!
PS: October is the low touristical season in Tanzania, and it was perfect because of not too many cars in the parks

Very friendly safari company
We went on a 3-day, 2-night safari with Safari Multiways in May this year whilst visiting Tanzania for a wedding. The service provided was excellent from the start - after making an online enquiry via SafariBookings, we received a very quick response from Romeo the manager, detailing possible itineraries and prices. Booking was simple via email. Because of technical reasons we were unable to wire transfer the deposit but this was not a problem. When we arrived in Arusha we visited the office and got a very friendly reception from the staff - our guide was even sitting outside on the street all day with a our names on a sign waiting for us to arrive! And he took us all around the town helping us to use the banks as we were having problems with many of the cash machines!
On the first day of our safari, our driver guide collected us from our hotel. The vehicle was comfortable, with plenty of room for our luggage. As there were only 2 of us, we always had great views and were able to take some fantastic photos. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about all the animals and a lot of the birds too. We visited Tarangire, Ngorogoro Crater and Lake Manyara over the 3 days. Each was beautiful and each different in terms of landscape and the animals and birds we saw. Our favourite moment was when our driver told us to "Close your eyes and don't open until I tell you to" - and when we opened our eyes 30 seconds later we were parked up with a lion and cubs sleeping just a few feet away from the jeep!
Accommodation was in lodges - both were lovely and provided good dinner and breakfast. On the second night, there were buffalo roaming around below just outside our room which really added to the whole experience! The lodges provided a nice packed lunch too.
We had a great time on our safari and would highly recommend Safari Multiways to anyone. They are a small company yet are professional, friendly, very accommodating and helpful. Many thanks to Safari Multiways for such a fabulous experience!

A Dream Trip (according to 16 y/o Junior)
About us: Son (16 y/o) and Father (myself) duo
Our previous safari experience: Kenya, April 2013
Why Safari Multiways: Recommended by an experienced traveler via a Safari forum
The planning process: Romeo of Safari Multiways was prompt with email, open to suggestions, and above all, fully transparent with the costing; that is, the quote for every line item per day was clearly detailed out. Romeo bought the Nairobi - Arusha - Nairobi shuttle bus tickets as well as Flying Doctors' insurance cover.
Type of safari: 9-night basic Camping and Hiking (though Romeo included tented camps on two nights for a change) plus 1-night each at Arusha, before and after.
Experiences:
Wildlife: Tarangire, Serengeti, Migration at Grumeti-Kirawira, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Natron (Flamingos)
Hiking: Empakai Crater, Lake Natron Waterfall, Lake Natron
Local life: Massai villages, Mto Wa Mbu vegetable markets and "Nyama Choma" (Local BBQ).
Camping: Tarangire Small Camp site, Serengeti Nyani Camp site, Ngorongoro Simba Camp site, Lake Natron River Camp site. It was great fun, including the cold evenings at Simba Camp site in Ngorongoro. Some sites like Roika Tented Camp (Tarangire), Panorama Lodge (overlooking Lake Manyara) and River Camp site (Lake Natron) allow you to pitch your tent on their grounds or use their lodges. You can cook your own food in the area provided, if you wish.
Driver-guide: Amos was our driver guide. He drove expertly not only through typical game-drive dirt tracks but also over the brutally rough, often non-existent tracks in the Lake Natron area. His spotting abilities kept us engaged continuously, with sightings of Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Rhino, Hartebeest, Topi, Eland, Antelope, Tortoise, Hyrax and numerous types of Birds. The only wildlife we generally found easier to sight on our own were the common and/or the larger species like Elephant, Giraffe, Gazelle, Zebra, Baboon, Crocodile, Buffalo, Ostrich and Wildebeest. :)
Cook-help: Moses cooked a variety of excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner (Western and African, Soups, Ugali, Pilaf, Kachambari, Stew, Grills etc etc). Our breakfast and picnic-box for the afternoon was promptly ready before we left early morning, and tea/coffee and dinner were ready when we got back. Stove, food, utensils and tents were packed up and ready well in time whenever we moved camps.
Both Amos and Moses are lovely, caring people!
We carried everything in our 4x4, and stopped occasionally to replenish supplies.
We drove through and hiked around amazing landscapes, including game parks, mountains, meadows, 'endless plains', lakes, extinct volcanoes, crater lakes, waterfall and rivers. We got wonderful insights into the life of the beautiful Maasai people, and how peacefully they coexist with nature and wildlife. Personally, those were among my greatest eye-opening or 'a-ha' moments during our trip.
At the beginning of our safari, Amos asked us, "So, how many Lion did you see in Kenya?". We told him proudly (it was in the single digits, actually). He then asked us, "You mean you could count?". That left us wondering what we were in for!
Amos constantly punctuated our game drives with, "See the lion(s) out there?", "See the leopard(s) out there?", "See the cheetah(s) there?". "See the bird(s) there?". Until Amos pointed it out, most of the time we could see none. It was as if the animals and birds appeared out of nowhere! We lost count of our Lion sightings and the number of Lions (and Lionesses and Cubs) we sighted. Probably 60 or 70 across more than 20 or 25 sightings?
After some time, we stopped counting and just admired the magnificent animals in the early morning light or under the shade of a tree at noon or in the slanting light of the setting sun. We drove, on an average, a little over 200 km per day. Our game drives were from 6 AM to 6 PM, and often stretched beyond 6 PM as we raced back to camp.
Today is June 2, 2014. I will be adding to my blog "Travel and Food Tales" shortly, by June 15, 2014.

Thank you for reading my review. We wish you a Tanzania experience that will be as mind-blowing as ours was.
Junior has called our trip "The Dream Trip" on his Facebook page. It was, indeed!
Our huge thanks to the Safari Multiways team of Romeo (owner), Amos (driver-guide) and Moses (cook-help) for making this our "Dream Trip", a real "Trip of a Lifetime".
We wish you "Safari njema" and "Kwaheri"!

Excellent safari experience
Safari multiways was booked for me by a tour operator. I was travelling alone and was met at Kili airport, then driven to Lake Manyaya NP with a stop for packed lunch along the way, overnight at a lodge and all day in Ngorongoro crater, overnight in the same lodge and back to Kili next morning. Amos, the safari guide, drove well and was informative about the places we visited and the animals and their behaviour- I learned several things. During dinner on the first evening we discussed the plans and timetable for the following day to ensure I was happy with the arrangements. Although there is always an element of luck on safaris and you cant be sure you will definitely see certain animals,Amos knew good places to go and was a good spotter - and thanks to his efforts and being in the right place at the right time we were lucky enough to have had lions right next to the safari vehicles and also got to see Black Rhino which isn't always possible. Packed lunches and plenty of water provided. Haven't done any other safaris to compare but was very happy with my experience (and friends who have done safaris thought it sounded good afterwards) and I would recommend it.
