Wonderful tour in Tanzania
Se hâd organised a tour FOR 4 people and had an absolutely amazing time. Our guide, Karuto, was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. Nothing was too much trouble, and he ensured that we were comfortable and missed nothing. He had an uncanny ability to manoeuvre the vehicle close to the optimum photo opportunity.
The accommodation was of a high standard, as were the meals. We were truly impressed.

An Incredible dream come true
Just returned from a 7 day safari with Leopard tours which was subcontracted thru Lion World Travel....we cannot say enough about the quality of service from Leopard Tours. We were met by Samwell at the airport after very long flight from Canada...he whisked us thru customs in record time , delivered us to our a driver who drove us to our over night lodge (Arumeru River Lodge...lovely start to our safari). The next day we were met by Daniel Andrews our guide and driver for the week.We were the only clients in his very clean (washed everyday of our trip), well maintained and comfortable Land cruiser. We were in awe of his knowledge of the animals, birds and culture of Tanzania. At all times he respected the wildlife, never encroaching or harassing them, giving us plenty of time to view and take pictures. We visited the Serengeti NP, the Ngorongoro crater and Tarangire NP, seeing every animal species and bird which Daniel was thrilled to show us, he was just as thrilled as we were to see a leopard and a black rhino. Daniel was polite, professional and caring , prompt and on time everyday and I felt very safe with his driving. He and the other drivers were in communication with each other re: animal sightings but he never left his radio on, and always kept to the road.
After the safari Daniel dropped us off at Arusha coffee Lodge where we had a delicious lunch and rest before being driven to the airport. Again, we were met by Samwell and whisked thru customs . From start to finish we cant thank Leopard Tours enough for their professionalism and making our dream trip come true... and thank you Daniel once more.

An amazing adventure
We did a ten day safari with Leopard Tours, arranged with Lion World Travel. We travel often and I am typically very 'hands on' in the planning, but I also knew my limitations on working on a vacation with NO knowledge of what to expect.
Everything from the pick up at Arusha airport, to the final drop at Arusha airport was top notch. Being met at the airport and handing off the VISA required docs and money and then having our luggage handled by Leopard was excellent. Jet lag made us all a bit out of it, and we felt very cared for immediately.
We were a group of 14, shared over three vans. Each of our drivers, Daniel, Edwin and Peter were outstanding. We were assigned to Peter, and he was soft spoken, knowledgeable, open to suggestions, and very concerned with our comfort and providing an excellent experience.
We actually saw the Big Seven in ONE DAY! Fantastic. I did not know what to expect as far as the driving/roads, and although it was a very bumpy, dusty situation, Peter was very cautious and a careful driver. There were many hours spent with him and he spoke often about Tanzania's culture/economy/eco-systems and we learned a great deal.
We did an 'add on' and said goodbye to our group after eight days, and were in Peter's hands for the remainder of our trip. Unfortunately, my husband took a fall and cut his mouth pretty badly. Peter was amazing. (I immediately felt sick seeing my husband.) He took control, helped him staunch the bleeding and arranged to find a doctor at the Serengeti Central area. His concern and kindness helped immensely with calming my and our daughter's fears.
I highly recommend Leopard Tours. Not once did I have any qualms about the decision we had made to book with this wonderful company.

VICTOR KOMBE is an excellent game guide in Tanzania
In August, 2018, I had the pleasure and privilege to safari in TZ with guide, VICTOR KOMBE. Victor was extremely personable, knowledgeable, accommodating and always demonstrated complete respect and appreciation for the wildlife and environment.
During our many game drives, I learned that Victor's incredible knowledge of the wildlife and environment were due to his several years of guide experience and education. Victor had a Diploma of Wildlife Tourism and degree in African Wildlife Management. Besides the thrilling game drives, I cannot state just how much I learned. I used to email my grandchildren each evening with what I had learned that day about the habits of the wildlife and effects of the wildlife on the environment. They loved hearing these new facts and shared them with their friends.
An African safari is truly a life changing experience.
If your are traveling either solo or with a family, I would without hesitation, recommend asking for VICTOR KOMBE as your game drive guide.
I can assure you that you will not be disappointed!

Amazing Experience with our Guide Victor John
We just returned from a 5 day trip to Tanzania and we had booked with Thomas Cook who in turn subcontracted to Leopard Tours. Our experience with Leopard Tours was excellent and the entire trip went smoothly without a hitch. it is THE biggest TO in Tanzania with over 200 vehicles, so while the quality may vary depending upon who your guide is, we were lucky to have had the best guide I have known in my life.
There was a representative, Samwell who received us at the airport and helped us complete the formalities quickly and another person, Charles, who met us at the hotel even though it was a Sunday evening to explain the program for the tour. We visited Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara.
The next five days, it was the guide Victor John who drove us around and made our tour memorable from every aspect. He was hard working, passionate, knowledgeable and seemed to genuinely care about the animals as he told us a lot of anecdotes and shared a lot of interesting trivia. He was an excellent driver, very professional and extremely committed. He would never cut corners and do his best to spot animals and despite driving for over 11 hours a day, he would insist that we make the best of our time and maximize the game drives. He had a brilliant eye and could spot the wildlife even if it wasn't easy. The vehicle was also well equipped with a radio device to communicate information and he had strong binoculars which aided in improving the experience. Thanks to him, we ended up seeing 10 cheetahs, 3 leopards and easily over 50 lions in Serengeti itself! Traveling with Victor was a pleasure and I would definitely recommend him to all tourists visiting Tanzania.

Mediocre at the best.
The Driver would take us no further than 10-15 Kms from our lodge and move in circles and follow the radio if there were any wild life sighting. Going so far from Canada we were disappointed not to go north to see the migration. Out of 3 days one day was a complete wipe out but we were fortunate on one day to see a lion pride and a Cheetah get on to a Safari jeep next to us.
They are nor trained to delight customers but rather make it routine and sometimes monotonous. We spent 3 days in the Serengeai, 1 in Tarangerine and 2 in Ngongoro crater but asides from moments of excitement the vast majority of our drive was boring. When we said that one day was lost in just driving, the driver got offended and confronted us and the rest of the trip lost all its charm.

No concern for the animals or the other tour companies.
Wow. We spent a week on safari and had several encounters with Leopard Tours, none of them good. On several occasions the Leopard Tours would pull in front of other safari vehicles just so they could be closest. Also when a great dusk cloud would be racing towards us and passing at high speed driving in the grasses or any area to pass us , you could always be assured it was Leopard Tours. The best was when the Leopard Tours vehicle drove off road in front of many other tour vehicles and drove right towards a pack of 5 lions. Thus causing them to get up and leave the area because they were about to be hit by the vehicle driven by Leopard Tours. So if you want to be first in line without ever waiting your turn, you have no regard for the wildlife you area there to see, and you have no respect for other people on tour, then this is for sure the company you should book with. Other wise I would steer clear of this company. I have found similar complaints about this company on here, with a reply from the company. But it appears this Leopard has not changed its spots.
Reply from Leopard Tours
Posted on Aug 14, 2018Dear Myles,
We are not totally convinced this is an honest review done in good faith.
Firstly it cannot be true that of all your encounters with Leopard Tours on safari “none of them is good”.
It cannot also be true that “when a great dusk (dust?) cloud would be racing towards us and passing at high speed driving in the grasses or any area to pass us , you could always be assured it was Leopard Tours”. Besides it is not possible to race in the game parks due to speed limits set by park authorities.
While we may take these two comments as offhand, we will need details about the Leopard Tours vehicle that “drove off road in front of many other tour vehicles and drove right towards a pack of 5 lions. Thus causing them to get up and leave the area because they were about to be hit by the vehicle driven by Leopard Tours”. This cannot be happening in the Tanzania game parks. You surely must have taken note of the registration number of the vehicle (photograph or video clip) and we request you to send the details to the game park authorities or even to us for action. We will also need to know in which game park this happened, and the date if possible, so that we can liaise with the respective authorities. In our more than 30 years of operating in the game parks we have had two cases of driver-guides misbehaving and both had to lose their employment with Leopard Tours. We are considered as one of the most disciplined and exemplary tour companies by the game parks in Tanzania and we hope you will come forward with some useful leads to assist us identify the irresponsible driver(s).
We hope this is not some careless review, or worse still a de-marketing effort bordering on hostility. We would need an apology on this very platform if it is some casual, offhand review as its ramification can be far reaching. For your information our type of clientele would never allow a driver-guide to go against park regulations to please them; the scene of a pride of lions having “to get up and leave because they were about to be hit by the vehicle driven by Leopard Tours” is simply beyond imagination in the Tanzania game parks.
