Amazing service and fantastic guide with Bright African Safaris
We had an amazing experience with Bright African Safaris and HIGHLY recommend them! I knew I wanted to work with a local Tanzanian company and I’m SO glad I selected Bright African Safari. My husband and I did an eight day custom safari covering a portion of the northern circuit in Tanzania.
The planning process can be quite complex and Evania provided the most responsive and knowledgeable communication in those early decision-making stages. She was very friendly and patient answering all my questions and maintained consistent contact without being pushy. I was glad to have the option to speak with her by phone in addition to our email exchanges. She was very willing to work with my specific lodging requests while also pointing out the advantages of some other options in the area. I never felt pressured to select any particular location or route, just Evania helping to make sure we had the best possible trip.
And the actual safari – WOW! I know everyone says they had the best guide ever, but honestly with Rama Banana we truly did! He is an exceptional person with incredible passion for this work. His extensive knowledge of animal behaviors and habitats made a huge difference in the number and variety of wildlife we were able to see. Banana shared many fascinating explanations to help us understand what we were seeing but also made sure we had plenty of opportunity to just take it all in. Looking back on the start of our trip together I really appreciate the
enthusiasm Banana shared in our first sightings of zebras and giraffes. Not a hint of any jaded “chill out, you’re going to see tons of those” vibe.
And finally, Banana was an excellent driver too! That’s super important when covering long distances on rough roads.
Please consider Bright African Safaris when selecting a tour operator for your safari. I’m sure that all of their guides are wonderful – and you will be especially fortunate if you have Banana as your guide!

Excellent local Tanzanian safari company
Wow!
Our 14 day safari organized by Bright African safaris was amazing.
We traveled through Kenya and Tanzania. In Kenya we visited lake Nakuru , Masai Mara and Amboselli.
In Tanzania we visited the Serengeti ( 6 days) and Ngorogoro.
Salim was our sales consultant and organized everything perfectly. Not a hitch! Great itinerary and accommodation options. He even organized a few hrs at a hotel in Nairobi prior to our late night flight at the last minute to allow us to freshen up prior to > 30 hours travel home.
Our guides in Kenya and Tanzania were very good but a special mention to Banana , our guide in Tanzania.
He was awesome and really enhanced our experience in Tanzania. He was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic in sharing his knowledge. He never ceased to amaze us with what he spotted- whilst navigating the challenging roads!!
He was also very professional and really looked after us with our bush lunches on safari- and even plunger coffee!
And to top it all off, banana was a really lovely person with a great smile!
We stayed at tented camps mostly but also a couple of lodges. Both types of accommodation were great but we really loved the Sopa lodge in lake Nakuru and Serena lodge in Ngorogoro. We would highly recommend these lodges if available (Sopa and Serena have several lodges in both countries I think).
We saw everything we could have hoped for - lion, cheetah, leopard, rhino, hippo, elephant, giraffe etc.
This was our second safari in Africa ( previously Botswana, Zimbabwe and Namibia) and I think Tanzania is my favourite country for safari. The people are just lovely- and the parks and animals fantastic.
I have no hesitation in recommending Bright African safaris to organize your safari. Enjoy the adventure of a lifetime!
