Bring heeps of US dollars. Everybody wants payment in US$. I brought $3000us I should have brought $6000 for Kilimanjaro, safari, gorillas,Zanzibar, hotels, tips, day trips etc. I did 3 country's in east Africa. A stable currency is preferred over a fluctuating local currency. Foreign owned business have to pay tax in US$ I was told.

Experience of a Lifetime
5/5

This was my second safari in Africa but my first to Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangiri. WOW what an amazing experience. Easy to work with, easy to book, and constant contact to make sure we were happy prior to trip. The guide Chedi (Chad) was the best. informative, funny, helpful, knew every animal, and helped us get some amazing photographs. We may have to add him and Joseph (the owner) to our Christmas Card list. They are like family now.

The scenery was amazing, the Tent lodges in Serengeti were unbelievable. Surrounded by animals in the wild was a bit scary to say the least. but the staff at the lodge was amazing, You can tell that Tomodachi Tours had done their research. The lodge at Tarangiri was unbelievable (roika tented lodge). It felt like you reached a paradise in the middle of the jungle. straight out of the movies.

Chedi made our experience feel like we were filming a movie for national geographic. The food was great, the service was amazing, and the hospitality was top notch. The fact that we were able to spend about an hour with the Masaai in their homes and dancing and singing with them was unreal. Have nothing negative to say about this trip or this company.

Thank you so much Joseph for such an amazing tour. Thank you Chedi for such an amazing 4 days teaching us so much about your country, the safaris, the animals, and your culture...

High mountains in good company
5/5

Not being used to hike a mountain with needing a huge organization and so trying not to lose the nature feeling, the challenge was to find the right person among the huge amount of tour operators. I was lucky! With Ronaldo Mvungi I have found somebody to hike as a team.
Our communication and alignment of expectation was straight forward. Ronaldo and his team were well servicing, more than I expected. I enjoyed a “5 Star tent kitchen”, morning coffee and at least good conversation. At the same time the team left me my freedom to explore the nature myself. My individual whishes were taken into consideration, which e.g. allowed me to hike Kilimanjaro during daytime.
Both mountain hikes, Meru and directly after Kilimanjaro, were a great experience. Thank you Ronaldo & Team!

Promise delivered
5/5

The program was delivered as promised, however it also meant switching groups. I did not mind being in different groups but it might bother some. Eric, the guy in charge, was always prompt with responses to questions. The drivers were skillful and friendly. The accommodation at Masai Mara was simple but clean and adequate; the food was always (except picnics) in a form of a buffet with options for vegetarians and omnivores. I was met at the airport as scheduled and all activities were carried out as promised. I can gladly recommend this agency as your safari tour operator. I had a great experience and would go back in a heartbeat!

Excellent trip
5/5

The Wilderness Society did a great job in creating the wild experience we had requested. If you are looking for tailor-made travels in Southern Africa, these are the professionals to choose.
We chose a combination of luxury lodges and 'bush camps' in the middle of the bush and were not disappointed! They knew exactly what we were looking for and they planned the route perfectly to our tastes. Thank you so much for the memorable trip!

100% recommended!!!
5/5

I had an awesome experience in Tanzania thanks to Jackson and Trekking Hero/MJ Safaris. I was so happy since the first day I contacted Jackson by email until the last day they dropped us off in the airport in Moshi. Jackson and his team took care of us everyday. I hired his services for a 7 day-climb of Kilimanjaro via Machame route and a 4 day-budget safari (Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Tarangire parks). We were a group of 8 people and once in Moshi we joined 5 more people so we were a big group to take care of. All of us reached Uhuru peak, the food was delicious during the climb and they were so attentive and helpful. We decided to climb Kili in 6 days instead of 7 days after the group, guides and porters agreed we were ready to do in 6 days. There was a lot communication and friendship between everybody. That gave us an extra free day in Moshi, to do some shopping, relax with a massage, sightseeing the town and checking a marathon. During the safari, we saw so many animals and I took so many pictures. The drivers had so much knowledge about the animals and their habitats. This was a budget safari that overpassed my expectations about food, customer service and lodging. They really took care of us specially the first night when it started raining before setting up the tents. The guides were so diligent and patient with all information and logistics of the safari trip. I am glad that I chose Jackson and his company to experience Tanzania and I would totally recommended to my friends and strangers.

Excellent experience !
4/5

We booked a 4 days / 3 nights Safari with Usambara and it was an excellent experience.
The camp is very nice on the river bank and our guide was really listening to us and what we wanted to see and do.
We stayed in "tents" and expected to sleep on the ground in a small usual tent, instead of that their vision of the tent is a 15m² room with solid walls, your own bathroom and an exceptional view on the river.
