Excellent and Accommodating
If you’ve decided to travel to Tanzania for Mt Kilimanjaro or Zanzibar then I don’t know how you could possibly leave without a safari in the world’s most recognizable (and justifiably so) parks like the Ngorongoro Crater or the Serengeti.
After you’re set on a safari, you’ll go on your own safari to pick one guide service in a dizzying field of operators. Personally, I think it’s important to choose a local operator and if you’re like me then I am delighted to recommend Robert, Silas and Elia with Tanzania’s own RO Scavenger.
RO Scavenger is made up of an experienced team who my wife and I will always remember for the exceptional, tailored experience they provided for our honeymoon in February and March 2024.
Robert and Silas were incredibly professional and accommodating as they provided timely responses to all inquiries and arranged a seamless pickup to drop-off experience. They really wow’d my wife and I at each possible occasion with flourishes for our honeymoon at many accommodations and a wonderful gift we will cherish forever upon departure. I greatly appreciated the detail they put into our customized itinerary.
Of course a safari is nothing without its guide and driver. Our guide and driver was the multi-talented, universally respected Elia. Elia had worked with several of the other operators we encountered during our safari and had clearly built relationships with several other guides we met. These relationships helped us spot all of the Big 5 and it was also a highlight for us to see Elia help other guides whose vehicles had broken down. Initially, I was surprised by how young Elia was to single-handedly lead us for a 7-day safari, but he proved to be more than capable as a guide, driver, and mechanic!
On safari, you’ll notice most travelers are following a similar itinerary, in a similar vehicle, with the same spots for lunch. In conversations with other tourists you’ll marvel at what you saw and you’ll typically be able to say you saw the exact same things. The difference in experience and therefore quality for my wife and I came from the added touches RO Scavenger provided us related to the accommodations. We booked rather close to our start date, but with a small window, RO Scavenger were able to secure some unique and varying retreats, resorts, tents and lodges that kept each night special. We loved the experience of staying in a traveling tent that moved with the migration of the wildebeest, but we also enjoyed the drinks by the pool resort, and the boutique retreat houses.
I believe we received the best value and best Tanzanian safari experience possible with RO Scavenger! Without hesitation I’d recommend this team.

Contrasting
Loved Kruger and our guide. Crazy weather but the animals were very cool to see.
Tremisana was good and the Tree houses adequate.
Blackouts annoying but added to the vibe.

Dream African experience
My wife and I had an excellent experience once again. It was our third visit to Tanzania. Although it was not the best time of year for game viewing, it was a great time to experience the Rufiji river in all its greatness. The bush was lush and green and beautiful to see.
What a great experience.

Wonderful, very scenic, diversified = tropical forest, savannah + beautiful beaches. People friendly
See above written. As a sole female traveler, no problem. I strongly suggest that one interact with the people; enjoy authentic interactions by taking a ride on the back of a motorbike on a beach or village road, go fishing with a local fisherman, interact with Masai outside of organized tourist events, go eat at local restaurants. And take a 6-day, 5-night group/shared safari , especially of Serengeti and see the “big five” and make new friends, including camping and hear a lion every now and again at night grunting. Truly a lifetime experience.

A dream come true!
This was my first time in Tanzania so I didn’t know what to expect, but I was amazed by the beauty of the Serengeti and by the amount of wildlife I got to see ! They were right there, next to the car, so close I could almost touch them! I couldn’t believe it.
The accommodations were wonderful and beautiful and the food was delicious .
Everybody was kind and helpful and I can’t wait to go back!

Review about Lake Manyara National Park by Jeannette
Beautifully green and much vegetation, forest. There are very many Baboons alongside the road and in the trees. The other animals remain to bug extent hidden due to the dense vegetation .

Simply the best. We saw so many lions within 2-4 meters of our vehicle as well as elephants , but the lions were the most awesome. Unlike other visitors, we unfortunately did not see any lions chasing prey. The number of herds of gnu and zebra was also astounding
